Fast, abrasive and loose with unexpected virtuoso guitar solos.

Originating sometime in the late 1970's Speed Metal would form as a prototype sound transitioning from NWOBHM later to a sound of it self in the 1980's.
Although, it is also said that the origins can go back even further to Deep Purple with "Speed King" and that would make sense being that is where many bands may of gotten the more fast aggressive approach away from many Rock bands that still were very "Bluesy"
Later, bands like Judas Priest and Motörhead adopted this more fast and loose way of playing that molded the sound which later exploded in the 1980s with bands like Venom, Exciter, Kill Em All era of Metallica, Voivod and etc.
The very logo of Speed Metal that is used today was originally found on a Shediac New Brunswick phone book vinyl cover dating back to 1976.
This logo would later be seen on 18 releases by the Canadian record company Banzai records (sometimes on the front or back and sometimes both!) It is rumored that 6+6+6=18 but that has yet to be officially verified and remains a mystery. Even today, Speed Metal lives on in the underground.
