Can you give it an option that if crafting materials are missing to have it add them to queue if it is connected to an assembler with raw materials? It would be really helpful rathen than be guessing what I am missing.

i know this is an old mod but is the smallgrid unable to work in fly mode? no matter what i do it seems to only weld connected grids. it has power, its on, set to fly, weld only, within range, has components. anyone else have this?

outgoing from my stand of informations i would say this version of bars is no longer maintained, though there are a bunch of still maintained versions of bars avaible in the steam workshop.

https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2111073562 that one was original just rebalancing but looks like it has atm the most maintained state and if you dont want the ressource rebalance there is one version linked in that mods moddescription with the opriginal ressource balance.

i have myself switched over to aienabled https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2596208372 as i find it far more fun than bars.

Sometimes these start to cannibalise my grids randomly regardless of settings applied, but fixes with a quick-load back a few minutes

whenever i did test it in the last around 2 years it wasrandomly eating away blocks of armor in my grids and every wheels or other unowned subgrid (so every subgrid with no ownable block on it) besides the occasional full stop of work, moving mats into tanks (only way to get them out of there i found is grinding the tanks down) or outright deletion of mats it did pickup while they where floating around.

i find it very strange that it is still working for some at all.

though i need to note down i only used it for the occasional test now and then for quite a while and switched over to the in my eyes more fun alternative aienabled.

But i do agre that it needs a update. i do get a small 1 sec lag spike now and then when i turn it on only, and yes i know it may sound like a problem, but is its just a lag spike for a sec when turned on, its not a problem for me

i would guess dummy08 didnt react due to the same circumstances why there hasnt been an udpate to this version of bars for years while probs exist that have been fixed in basically all other workshop uploads of it.

outgoing from the last time this mod got an update and the unadressed probs that came up since then i would say that it probably will break further with that update.

there are some more up to date and still maintained versions avaible in the steam workshop.

The Prototech DLC is planned to be released soon. It will contain elements that are destroyed when sawed. I hope the nanites will not be able to drag them into a container. So as not to make the game easier. And there will also be support for new materials.

possible options besides switching to a not terribly out of date version?
well you could repaint just the blocks you want removed in the deconstruct color just take a block in hand with that color and use mmb (atleast if you didnt chnage the key layout) while looking on the block you want to repaint, ctrl+mmb would be for a 3x3x3 cube of blocks, shift+mmb for a 7x7x7 cube of block and ctrl+shift+mmb would be the whole grid without any subgrids repainted.

i did switch over to aienabled ( https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2596208372 ) felt ages ago as its far more fun than bars, but if you want to stay with bars i would say try nanobot build and repairs system maintianed ( https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2111073562 ) or search inside the workshop for build and repair while sorting it for last updated.

@ Cave Aye, unfortunately I don't think there's a way to repaint ONLY the armor blocks.

I tried to disable everything but armor pieces in the settings but it still munched on turrets and conveyors. Which, those two things specifically were what I needed intact.

@ Anthony, there is the option to have it break down blocks that are painted a certain colour. The only other option is to have all the blocks broken down

At some point during my current project I misaligned some conveyors and I don't know where. They're buried DEEP in a smallgrid behind tons of light armor blocks.

I've been trying to set BARS to disassemble ONLY the light armor blocks, but it seems to want to break down everything no matter what settings I choose. Any possible solutions for me? Maybe I'm overlooking something.

I have recently loaded the companion script for my BnRs that is supposed to queue up components automatically when they are missing. If I click the box 'use the script', my BnR won't weld anything. It appears to queue up the parts (according to the convenient notes from 'Build Info' the blocks are 'to be built') but the parts are not sent to the assembler and the BnR never puts the parts in the 'to be welded' queue. If I turn off the script, everything works fine.

If this issue has been identified already I apologize. I only had time to look through 3 pages of comments before I left mine.

in either case i would point towards this version of bars beeing absolutly out of date atm and more than a few probs awaiting to be fixed via an update to it, though there are diferent versions of bars out there that are still maintained.

Bug? Feature? Lets say you're a Noobie with NO DLCs. Some one else has set up a Projector with a Blueprint that uses DLCs and a button anyone can use to turn on/off the Projector. You, the Noobie press the button and it all starts building using the Nanobot Build and Repair blocks, then it WILL hang when it gets to a DLC block. You cannot set up a system to print off free vehicles for anyone. You cannot print off a vehicle owned by "Nobody". Faction and DLC rules are enforced at the build level by the Nanobots.

I had just weirdest bug ever. My BnR like randomly lost ownership/belonging to me despite still being connected (didnt play with it, i was doing something else when i started hearing grinding noises) and started grinding my own ship lol I couldnt stop it from doing it, but when i went into settings and forced to transfer again ownership to me, it actually started fixing the ship back agin (rip because didnt build projector yet)

this got me to find that there actually is maintained version so gotta check it out (bellow comements) as its not like its first time it bugged out

This version is buggy and obsolete, but the most subscribed. It ignores shields and safe zones and is too overpowered.
This is the BEST version (and balanced) that we've found and is currently maintained. The page also has a link that allows the block to be built using the original component requirements.

I haven't played the game in a while, but plan on getting back into it as soon as I get my financial situation straightened out. I wanted to say that the developers of this mod - geniuses of their time, it is quite an impressive mod that could not leave indifferent almost no one.
