heya folks, it's been a wild month for me. I'll try to get this updated for B19 once I get settled in my new place in the coming days
Wemd 23 Sep, 2018 @ 2:47am
@qUeLo

This is 2 different mods made by different authors.
NOT 0.18 and 0.19 versions of the same mod.

Could you get rid of the shadow under the barbed wire?
Tal'Raziid 24 Mar, 2018 @ 1:34am
@CrazedKiller
Slow. Not sure on the specifics, ill get back to you on that
CrazedKiller 24 Mar, 2018 @ 12:56am
What is the movement speed for crossing barb wire?
Kutsuu Mugen 20 Mar, 2018 @ 2:58pm
@Tal'Raziid - Yeah true I understand your point thanks, was just wondering as with the basic Deadfall Trap if you need to repair 1 which requires going through another you just trap yourself and thats why there are Mods to prevent that from trapping your own Pawns.

So was hoping this Mod may have a similar thing otherwise it's just completely useless.
So if it effects everything including my own Pawns I will ignore this Mod then and stick to Guns and Turrets to kill and with Mud Moats to slow them.
Tal'Raziid 19 Mar, 2018 @ 9:24pm
@Kutsuu Mugen
Everything is affected by these; barbed wire doesn’t IFF, it’s a barrier. Not much use as a barrier if it only stops some people
Kutsuu Mugen 19 Mar, 2018 @ 9:22pm
Do the Barbed Wires effect my own Pawns and do they also effect anyone else? It would be nice if only Raiders/Mechas get effected by these.
zyMex 7 Mar, 2018 @ 2:30pm
but dosent look as good as this one does :(
Tal'Raziid 4 Mar, 2018 @ 2:46am
@Zymex
There's a different barbed wire mod that does that
zyMex 4 Mar, 2018 @ 2:38am
is it posible to make this damage slightly thwn passed over? like real barb wire will
Meldiron 28 Feb, 2018 @ 11:37am
Shadows are not quite there yet but this definitly should exist in game
Mordred (Benemuel) 3 Feb, 2018 @ 7:25pm
With this, and lovecraft, I can finally make a WWI battle line. With some turret mods that add MG nests too, of course.
Amogus 28 Jan, 2018 @ 7:10pm
YES!!! i've been loofing for barbed wire

Hey everyone, just updated the mod to use the Defs schema. Thanks for your support!
Mostly Harmless 10 Jan, 2018 @ 4:39pm
I get the same error message.
Ramachandra 10 Jan, 2018 @ 8:31am
Hello. I have a conflict problem with my other favourite mod. Changing the load order can not solve the problem. Could you have a look:

I got an error that involved this mod. Logs below:

For the "D:\***\***\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\811181658\Defs\ThingDefs/BarbedWire.xml: root element named Buildings; should be named Defs" error you can just open the xml file at the specified location with a notepad editor such as (notepad+ +) then change <Buildings> to <Defs> and </Buildings> to </Defs>
Tal'Raziid 28 Dec, 2017 @ 9:13pm
I personally prefer this one; I don’t liek my colonists constantly getting cuts, and the damage one looks like awkward concertina wire IMO
Galrent 28 Dec, 2017 @ 8:35pm
I know, I was curious if this one did damage or not, and if not, how it was balanced. I like the texture on this one, it fits the vanilla feel. I enjoy TTW's version as well, though.
Tal'Raziid 28 Dec, 2017 @ 8:29pm
Barbed wire does what barbed wire is supposed to do: slows down movement without providing cover. There is another mod that does basically the same but with a little damage
Galrent 28 Dec, 2017 @ 7:25pm
So.. I think I read that the barbed wire doesn't do any damage? Is that true? If so, how is it balanced as compared to the sandbags? They're basically the same, yeah? Except the barbed wire offers less cover?

LORDzEMPEROR
you can copy the mod from the workshop mods folder and then do it yourself. mod no longer auto updates when changed.
Tal'Raziid 13 Dec, 2017 @ 1:28pm
@^3[RIOT]^5poul^5Mavinger: Theres a different barbed wire mod for that.
Poul Mavinger 13 Dec, 2017 @ 1:12pm
any change for it to hurt people as they cross it?
LeotheJust 12 Dec, 2017 @ 4:55am
OK, thanks guys. No doubt the author will check these comments and update it later. Apparently it doesn't affect play although in my new game I haven't got to the point of using it yet.
LORDzEMPEROR 11 Dec, 2017 @ 3:38pm
Great mod!

If I'm not mistaken, the red line is just a 2 min fix. All instances of "thingdef" at the top and bottom of an XML file should now be simply "defs". I would change this myself, but Steam auto updates the files, so only the author can truly stop it from recurring.
Gord 11 Dec, 2017 @ 3:27pm
@LeotheJust, got that red line as well
jefkin 10 Dec, 2017 @ 9:02am
@LeotheJust me too, but the game seems to be working despite the error. Still requires a dismissal of the error. Would be nice if that got fixed up on your next release. Still very cool mod. The double layer like the demo shot or even tripple works really well, especially with turrets.
chiefcookN 9 Dec, 2017 @ 7:49am
Does it require a new save game ?
Eamund 9 Dec, 2017 @ 4:06am
@LeotheJust yep got it too.
LeotheJust 9 Dec, 2017 @ 3:53am
After installing it, I noticed a new red line in my debug listing that references Barbed wire. Says root element called Buildings should be Defs. Anyone else get this? I know nothing about xml coding so not sure if this is my problem or not.

FYI, thanks.
