@Kentucky Fried Chicken That would be because this was meant as a quick test wallpaper, which is written in javascript. And the basic drawing functions in javascript does not come with flood fill function ( the bucket tool ).

i love this idea im just curious if there was a reason for no bucket tool? i think it would make it a lot better.

@Squee ahhh i gotcha. that would be pretty annoying & hard to fine-tune, i completely understand. i still greatly appreciate the wallpaper, thanks for answering : )

@chemical inhaler .. Nope. The wallpaper can't just access to your drive or interact with your OS in an way but is contained within it's only environment. The storage I can use as some limitations and even though I did look into it, there were cases where I could not guarantee the image would be saved. I did not want to make something like a save feature which you should be able to depend and have it be a feature you can't depend on.

I think you mean a pen mouse. I am not sure if they are any good, They are basically a mouse in the shape of a pen.

Love the idea. Unfortunately, i am shit at drawing.
Are any of you aware if there are any pen Input devices which do not require a touchpad or drawing pad? Basically a mouse in pen format?

@Davish.dpz .. I'm sorry but I haven't been working on this wallpaper for years ( over 4 by now apparently ). It really was meant as an experiment and thought some people might like as it is.

This was an experiment to test drawing on the desktop, which I later used in my Audio Scratchboard wallpaper

I think you should keep working on it, It might be the most usefull wallpaper ever. I usually write all the task that I have to do in the day to be more productive. But it would be cool if you add more features. I think this is a really great idea to left behind.

The wallpaper was an experiment of mine so to speak. Thats why it never really futher developed. I thought some might like it so put it up on workshop. This was just a test of mine working towards one of my audio wallpapers ( audio scratchboard ) where you could draw on the screen too.

Have Had this installed for a while and i wonder what the experiment is?

@aman.zip I am guessing you mean an image as background? This wallpaper doesnt support that. If you want I could explain how to add a single image as a background by editing your local copy. Just let me know if you are interested. Will involve some copying files and adding some lines in a text file.

This wallpaper was just experimenting with what I could do and thought some ppl might like playing around with it. It was a step towards making another wallpaper I made called Audio Scratchboard. That one allows background images and basic drawing as well as saving whats on screen. You can tweak the settings to allow drawing lines and you can disable it responding to audio, but with that wallpaper you can only draw in one color and thin lines.

Hey this app is one of the only reasons I bought wallpaper engine! :) which is why is makes me sad that I can't use my current still wallpaper as a canvas to draw onto. Am I missing something? I've only been able to draw on the solid color canvas.

The only way I can't change the color is if something on the desktop is blocking the mouse input like Rainmeter might do. That is not something I can fix. Other then that I can't seem to reproduce any bugs with the wallpaper itself :( So not sure what it could be.

@Puppy Do you mean you can't change the background color? Are you trying to change it using the settings in the wallpaper browser, or the little menu that you can use to change the draw color?

The settings in the wallpaper browser doesn't affect the background. I might have to update the wallpaper to make that more clear, it is a bit sloppy of me.

To change the background color, use the little menu that shows up when you move the mouse to the edge of the screen. There is a color selector for drawing, and one for the background.

I couldn't select anything when I first downloaded it, but then I just changed to another background and then enabled this one again, this might work for you, LightlyToastedRye?

If you go to the left or right of the screen you do see the menu I assume? In that case, if you click on the pencil does the background of the icon/button turn white and not remain gray?
