Great wonder but doesn't work for BNW!
NunquamReverto 29 aug. 2015 la 20:53
Wait. I got it, and I feel stupid. I was viewing the code and accidentally deleted one of the letters in the word Cathedral.
Pouakai  [autor] 29 aug. 2015 la 20:38
Are you sure you got the tag right? I can't think of any reason off the top of my head why the cathedral itself wouldn't work, I'm pretty sure I've even done it myself once (or planned to but never got around to it) - let me know if you're still having issues with it and I'll take a look into it to see if I can figure out what's going on

Okay, I have been looking at a lot of Pouakai's wonder mods (and they're awesome, by the way), and after looking through the XML code for a lot of them, I have a question. I see what the tag is to grant a free building, and when trying to make my own mod I have been able to make this function work with most buildings, but I've found that I can't seem to grant a free cathedral from a building. I thought perhaps that was because it is a faith-purchased building, but then again the in-game Great Mosque of Djenne grants a free Mosque, which is also a faith-purchased building. I see from your own mods that even though many of your wonders are Cathedrals, they don't seem to grant a free cathedral, which made me wonder if there is something that makes faith-purchased buildings different from other buildings. Any clues?

Thank-you.

@Pouaki Yep, I've had code to allow faith specialists for years now. Message me and I can set up a quick download. Just a note that this faith yield will not be displayed in the Top Panel or City View screens without overwriting those files.
Pouakai  [autor] 29 aug. 2014 la 19:18
If you can get it to work that'd be awesome, thanks
framedarchitecture 29 aug. 2014 la 13:23
Just a note that the Faith per Specialist aspect of this mod does not work, not from any failing on the author's part, just a lack of supporting code. Pouaki, if you want to include a script to enable this mod to function as described, let me know.

I think so
MasBossGaleForce 14 febr. 2014 la 0:36
I meant does it work with BNW? ---- 1 year later

Pouakai  [autor] 18 iul. 2013 la 0:31
Possibly - I'm not sure what I could give it though.
MasBossGaleForce 17 iul. 2013 la 23:40
New update coming for BNW?

Santa Maria del Fiore (Fiore = Flower) is the bigger construction of the world in bricks.
Brunelleschi, build after study the Pantheon of Roma (Rome), the almost old similar structure of the world, in stone and roman concrete.

Massive update as of 10 March - new name, new effect and now 100% functioning! See changelog for details
Pouakai  [autor] 4 mart. 2013 la 21:59
Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how to correct that.
Aurelius 4 mart. 2013 la 21:17
For some reason I did not gain the benefit of faith/ culture per every 2 citizens.

Everyone I know calls it "The Duomo," which I know is a generic term as well, but Duomo with a capitalized D and without specifiers usually refers to Santa Maria del Fiore. For example, if you do a google search (US) for "the duomo" you all kinds of Florence links and pictures, although there is a Milan or two here and there. I see that the Wikipedia article is titled "Florence Cathedral," but I've never heard anyone call it that before, and I asked my sister who lives there about it, and she said she's never heard anyone call it that either. My vote would be for to call The Duomo, because it adds that extra layer of abstraction, but that's just my opinion. I think The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore works as well, but it's a lot longer, ha ha. Anyway, sorry for the long post, I hope I'm being helpful rather than annoying!
Sowilo 3 ian. 2013 la 19:20
call it Santa Maria del Fiore?
KRÄNKY 3 ian. 2013 la 11:17
Looks beautiful. I love it! Thank you so much.
Pouakai  [autor] 3 ian. 2013 la 1:04
Yeah, it's called the Florence Cathedral. What else would you call it though?
shautora 2 ian. 2013 la 22:38
I like the wonder, but is it really going to be called the "Florence Cathedral" in game? It sounds a little flat, no? And a little specific, since it won't be in Florence...
maurizioif 24 dec. 2012 la 2:53
fantastico .. im florentine.. im honored at this,..
Pouakai  [autor] 12 dec. 2012 la 9:31
Not yet - I'm bringing other wonders up to Gods & Kings level before fixing this one
gaius214 12 dec. 2012 la 5:28
Has this been repaired?
Pouakai  [autor] 8 nov. 2012 la 10:22
Yeah, that's a noted issue. I don't have time at the moment to fix it, so it's on the backburners until December
Winston 8 nov. 2012 la 7:16
okay ... faith & culture / pop not working here :)
anybody else got this mistake?
Pouakai  [autor] 12 iul. 2012 la 15:01
It's been updated to Gods & Kings where now it produces +1 culture and +1 faith for every two citizens in the city, and no longer provides a Golden Age
Ryan Surik 25 iun. 2012 la 17:09
It would be cool if this wonder, when updated for Gods and Kings, also provided a free Cathedral in the city it's built.
Gibble96 16 iun. 2012 la 16:25
Ah, okay. I look forward to seeing the final result :)
Pouakai  [autor] 16 iun. 2012 la 16:09
This mod is only temporary with this effect, as it will most likely be updated following the release of Gods & Kings to something more faith based during the rennaisance
Gibble96 16 iun. 2012 la 16:06
I haven't had a chance to play this one yet, but just from at a glance I can tell this one outdoes its era.

Compare to Taj Mahal: 50 less production, and instead of 4 happiness you recieve 3 more static culture and +1 culture per citizen. This is essentially trading 4 happiness for 15-25 extra culture for 50 less production (and this number will only grow to 30-40+ over time, and can grow to obscene proportions via percentage modifiers).

Obviously this wonder screams tradition/vertical empires, but even for them it seems... Tweaked.

My preliminary suggestion is to cut the golden age, or nerf static culture to +1 and change to +1 culture per 2 population, but I'll play with this first before making any affirmative suggestions.

Must be in CIV
