thank you for updating the asset! looks amazing and the update drastically reduces RAM usage

It not only causes a large file size it also puts some weight on your PC when you are viewing the LOD in your city. Mesh Info will show the info of assets.

Yeah one thing will lead to another quickly haha. Updating for AD requires editing/adding texture files to an asset which you will need ModTools to extract the files from the asset you wish to "update."

Updating hvalreki's assets I noticed his assets size were large mainly because he never created proper LODs for them and instead used the same texture and model for the LOD, which doubled the file size.

Actually with the map I'm using, I found that 1:1 works great. The thing I want to figure out now is how to reduce the file size. Some of hvalreki's assets are 25mb and that's a little hard to swallow for one building.

Also how to update for After Dark.. hmm maybe this rabbit hole is deeper than I thought.

No worries i think you want to scale it down to .66 to get it 1:1.5
Agamemnicon 12 Apr, 2018 @ 7:08am
oh wow.. I had no idea you could do that in the asset editor. Thanks:)

Hello sorry,
I dont really get around to updating these old assets much anymore but if you'd really wish to have a smaller version I'd recomend creating your own using the scaling function in the asset editor. The original creater used the same ingmae feature for his 1:1.5 scale versions and didn't bother making a new model for them. Hope this helps!

Necro'ing the request for a 1:1.5 scale version. As many kudos as the original asset creator deserves, I can't stomach a 14-25mb asset for just one building. Thanks for the work you've done!

Will do. Also going to get most of the other chicago 1.5 scales AD updated aswell.
mrfdot 11 Jun, 2016 @ 2:54pm
Could you make this in 1.1.5?

Eventually. Wouldn't be for awhile when I did. I got a big list of assets to make/update and 1:1.5 scales are down at the bottom.
EmDoubleYou 18 Apr, 2016 @ 5:50am
will you remake the 1:1.5 ones too?

My guess would be the LODs. I got lazy on the LODS. They could be reduce better which I will on future updates. The original LODS where Identical to the main which prob made them 25 to start.
Crazyglueit  [author] 18 Apr, 2016 @ 2:55am
I did my best to reduce the file size for most my ad updates. As for the remander I couldn't tell you honestly what it is. Most of these Chicago asset updates seem to end up around 9-10mb. Sorry for the little info.
Elias 18 Apr, 2016 @ 1:32am
nice work, but i don't get, why it has 10mb? and you already seem to have reduced the size a lot (from ~25mb)
