Sorry, I didn't see the PR. Forking the mod, modifying it however you wish, and reuploading it is perfectly fine.

https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2559105223 is since a way longer time out there as a replacement of this mod.

I have made a pull request to the author with modifications to work with the "Hubs & Transport" spec changes.
If there is no response from the author for a long time, I can release a modified version instead.

I did. I had to unsubscribe everything and follow the directions for the Nursing Homes with Eldercare Mod. Some of these nursing homes still work with that other mod, but not all. Sadly, this mod is incompatible. I wish there were more Nursing Homes that would work so I could make a huge community.
BoostHungry  [author] 4 May, 2022 @ 5:03pm
Just for completeness @TechiCat, you're sure you have this mod and assets both subscribed on Steam and enabled in game?
TechiCat 3 May, 2022 @ 9:44pm
This no longer works. I'm playing right now, and the only thing that shows Under the Eldercare Tab is the Eldercare facility. None of the nursing home facilities show up anymore. :steamsad:
Bad Apple 1 Feb, 2022 @ 10:02pm
@Dimensional One That was a big benefit of the updated mod, the buggy tab from this one would often hang or even crash your game when opening the Healthcare menu.
Bad Apple 1 Feb, 2022 @ 10:00pm
@BoostHungry The new mod by t1a2l incorporates Eldercare into the Nursing Homes so that residents are covered by in-house Eldercare. It slightly tweaks the ratings to be clearer by removing the level 0 and removes unhappiness from level 1. It also removes the buggy Nursing Homes tab in favor of using his Better Healthcare Toolbar which creates tabs for Health, Death, Elder, Child, and Recreational Care. Assets should be backwards compatible except any level 0.
Dimensional One 9 Nov, 2021 @ 11:21am
Thanks for the years of fun I've had because of this mod... Hate to unsub but if there's a better version out there I'm going to try it.. All the assets work fine but my healthcare tab always hangs the game and I've wondered for a long time if this was the culprit but never bothered to check.
If switching mods fixes that problem I'll return to let y'all know.
Darkangel 27 Sep, 2021 @ 9:22pm
It's weird that i couldn't find the nursing homes in the allotted eldercare category and i thought that might be the strange health label which i would need as the only way i could find them is with find it.
BoostHungry  [author] 27 Sep, 2021 @ 2:12pm
What's with the massive surge in new visitors/subscribers? Is there a Steam Sale or something?

As for the "strange healthcare tab", since this mod destroys and recreates the Healthcare menu to separate Healthcare from Eldercare there was some sort of tab that showed up. The tab comes from vanilla code which I assume doesn't show in most, if not all, cases. Just in case that tab is for some DLC or content pack or something, I didn't delete it outright and instead opted to hide it based on a menu option.
Ilion 27 Sep, 2021 @ 8:09am
Darkangel,
When this mod is active, there is an extra tab/label/sub-menu under the Healthcare tab/menu.
Darkangel 27 Sep, 2021 @ 3:12am
Hide strange healthcare label??? What is that?
BoostHungry  [author] 15 Aug, 2021 @ 5:13pm
Just an FYI, reports are that this mod still works. People are free to use either this version or the new version from t1a2l, I'm not sure what improvements they have made, but credit to them if they're adding new features to this mod.
t1a2l 7 Aug, 2021 @ 4:09am
Hey everyone just release an updated version which supports elder care. get it here: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2559105223

@alanda_b @bluemoon @Ilion @M.S.Referee Please approve my friend requset for testing of the new Senior citizen mod!
alanda_b 21 Jul, 2021 @ 12:25am
Yup. Been using it for about a month on a city of about 190K with no problems.
bluemoon 6 May, 2021 @ 9:38pm
Added a couple of road signs - one for the Pensioner Extraction Center, the other for Move Towards The Light. Available under 'Eldercare' in the Workshop.
bluemoon 30 Apr, 2021 @ 1:35am
@BoostHungry ... just added another Asset called Move Towards The Light , an altogether nicer way to dispose of surplus Seniors ...

... it has a lot lower Mesh Count than the PEC, and this one doesn't require any DLCs either.
Ilion 29 Apr, 2021 @ 10:07am
@M.S.Referee,
Sometimes the problems we have with the game aren't in mods, but in simple assets. For example, ever since the Green Cities release, the game locks-up almost immediately on my PC (thus, I play with the pre-GC version). The problem I have isn't due to any the mods I use, but rather to some plain old residential assets.
M.S.Referee 29 Apr, 2021 @ 8:27am
Today test again, then game crashed after ONE "Game Day". It look like now never can enabled "Customize It Extended" and "Nursing Homes for Senior Citizens" at same time.

The crash made by random clicked some service building. (This time I clicked Public Library)

So, I feel mod need to rewirte with Harmony 2 will be good more.
bluemoon 27 Apr, 2021 @ 8:21pm
As Montgomery Burns would say ... Ex-cellent!
And yeah, the mod works fine with Sunset Harbor, so support shouldn't be an issue, as I believe that is the final DLC for CS.
Ilion 27 Apr, 2021 @ 7:35pm
I still use it with no problems.
BoostHungry  [author] 27 Apr, 2021 @ 7:17pm
:D Gotta get me some of that SEO. Though I know a lot of people will be turned off by the "No longer supported" intro line. Hopefully people get some enjoyment out of this.
Ilion 27 Apr, 2021 @ 6:19pm
You must have, as searching on "Eldercare" finds this mod.
BoostHungry  [author] 27 Apr, 2021 @ 5:50pm
:P
BoostHungry  [author] 27 Apr, 2021 @ 5:50pm
There. Did I do that right?
bluemoon 27 Apr, 2021 @ 5:11pm
@BoostHungry ... just a heads up - if you add the word 'Eldercare' somewhere in your mod's page, it will get more matches in the Workshop, as there seems to be quite a few people using that term when they're looking for alternatives to the ingame Eldercare facility.
M.S.Referee 26 Apr, 2021 @ 10:35am
I know that option of mod. And this is why I use "Customize It Extended" to change for per asset. I changed "Senior Citizen Luxurious Apartments and Care Facility by Populous", because I think it can handle more than x3 of mod setting.

So, finaly I found incompatiable point between those two mods.

Thanks, BoostHungry to reply.
BoostHungry  [author] 26 Apr, 2021 @ 9:56am
You can change the number of rooms via the options menu for this mod. You can't change per asset, but you can scale it up/down across the board based on your preference. All asset makers should be sticking towards vanilla values for a particular building size so that the scaling of one asset vs another should be consistent. If any one asset has a value that doesn't make sense compared to what you'd expect, comment on that asset and see if the creator can adjust the values to be more consistent. Just keep in mind, even a vanilla residential house has multiple families living in them, that's just how the game is unless you use a mod that brings that down to more real world levels.
M.S.Referee 26 Apr, 2021 @ 9:40am
Yep, I just changed 'rooms' by "Customize It Extended", then game and save dead.

So, if mod itself can got option to adjust, it will no need "Customize It Extended" to do.

And also good, if "Customize It Extended" can supported this mod.
BoostHungry  [author] 26 Apr, 2021 @ 9:26am
"Customize It Extended" modifies the AI of an asset, but Nursing Homes use the custom NursingHomeAi [github.com]. NursingHomeAI does extend PlayerBuildingAI, but I would expect some possibly conflicts since NursingHomeAI has additional new customizable properties. I'm sorry, but that may be an incompatibility unless "Customize It Extended" can support the NursingHomeAI and its custom properties.
bluemoon 26 Apr, 2021 @ 2:44am
@M.S,Referee ... if you want to change settings for an Asset - such as Electricity / Water / Cost / Maintenance etc - it might be safer to load the Asset into the Assets Editor from the main menu, then modify the values to whatever you want, and Save.

As far as I know, that'll do the trick, and it's quite straightforward to do as well. And hopefully, you've got multiple previous saves to fall back on to rescue your city!
M.S.Referee 26 Apr, 2021 @ 2:04am
Mod got huge problem with "Customize It Extended". When use "Customize It Extended" edited any "Nursing Facilities" assets, the game broken immediately. And the save borken too after you saved the game and can't loading.
bluemoon 25 Apr, 2021 @ 9:31pm
Thanks BoostHungry ... yeah, Level 0 seems to be working nicely, with the PEC becoming populated pretty much straightaway. And two placed together works just as well too.

OK then,
All The Best!
BoostHungry  [author] 25 Apr, 2021 @ 9:21pm
These numbers are only a quick overview, there's more to it than this, and quality vs wealth is only part of the equation, but this should give you an idea:

A 2 Star Nursing Home has a -1, 0.5, and 0.5 chance multipliers for high, medium, and low wealth Cims respectively. So moderate chance for medium and low wealth, low chance for high wealth.

A 1 Star Nursing Home skews even further towards low wealth Cims with a -2, -0.25, and 1 chance multipliers for high, medium and low wealth Cims respectively.

But then for a 0 Star, it goes back the other direction a bit due to the idea of forced residence: -0.5, 0.25, and 2 chance multipliers for high, medium, and low wealth Cims respectively.
bluemoon 25 Apr, 2021 @ 6:08pm
Updated to Level '0', and confirm it's all working OK, and updated the image of Info Panels to reflect that.

Also added an additional image to demonstrate that the Asset functions in locations remote from the city, and also to incorporate ploppable Watchtowers. Plus I added a couple of extra tips on how to optimise traffic vs number of occupants.
bluemoon 25 Apr, 2021 @ 3:06pm
@BoostHungry Haha! ... well, something like the PEC was bound to come along sooner or later wasn't it, so I thought I might as well get it over and done with ...

I wasn't sure what Level 0 would do, so I left it at the default of 2. But from what you say, I reckon Level 0 would be better-suited, so I'll update it later today. And the baseline number of beds is 250 - the 375 in the example was due to the 1.5 multiplier.

And even though I placed my PEC in the depths of a forest remote from the city, it became well patronised pretty quickly!
BoostHungry  [author] 25 Apr, 2021 @ 10:39am
Awesome @rcav8tr! I appreciate the mod compatibility support, and I'm sure others do as well.
BoostHungry  [author] 25 Apr, 2021 @ 10:38am
OMG, is that a true 0 Star Quality Nursing Home @bluemoon? Are you the first to actually make one??? I love it! Are you aware that 0 Star Nursing homes have special rules? 1 Star Nursing Homes are for low wealth Cims and 5 Star Nursing Homes are for high wealth Cims, but 0 Star Nursing Homes, while still more suited for low wealth, have a higher chance for medium and high wealth Cims compared to a 1 star (a mechanic designed specifically for what you just built).

I'll link it above, I'm guessing it's a 0 Star? 375 base room count?
rcav8tr 25 Apr, 2021 @ 8:36am
My Building Usage mod has been updated to include households (i.e. rooms) and workers from Nursing Homes.
rcav8tr 25 Apr, 2021 @ 7:27am
@BoostHungry, I suspect the issues I reported are due to "this mod rips out and replaces the healthcare toolbar to support Nursing Homes in an independent tab". The issues I reported are mostly cosmetic and the mod otherwise works as far as being able to place nursing homes.
bluemoon 25 Apr, 2021 @ 1:03am
@BoostHungry ... I've created and uploaded a new Asset for this mod - the dystopian Pensioner Extraction Centre .
Ilion 24 Apr, 2021 @ 7:30pm
@rcav8tr,
Sometimes assets themselves cause extra tabs to appear for some menu panels.

For example, I have two parking garage assets which caused a "Road Conditions" tab to appear on the Roads panel. I select/plop them from there, because they don't appear on any Parks tab, even though they are parks.

As another example, I have some RICO farm assets (parks without RICO) which caused a "Plazas" tab to appear on the Healthcare panel. They also don't appear on any Parks tab, but since they are RICO enabled, I plop them from that panel.

Perhaps it's the "More Advanced Toolbar" mod which is causing the issue you see.
BoostHungry  [author] 24 Apr, 2021 @ 5:40pm
(1/2) This mod intends to add an additional tab to the healthcare menu which is meant to hold all Nursing Homes. I'm not sure what icons you're seeing.

The last time I personally tested and verified this mod was the Park Life DLC. Others reported no issues up til the Campus DLC so I marked compatible through that, but I no longer support this mod. There's still the odd comment that it works great and other odd comments that people wish this would be updated, so I'm not really sure how well this still works, or how well it works with various DLC/Mod combinations.
BoostHungry  [author] 24 Apr, 2021 @ 5:40pm
(2/2) I would not be surprised that there's an incompatibility with any mod that changes the toolbar as this mod rips out and replaces the healthcare toolbar to support Nursing Homes in an independent tab (Nursing Homes are Healthcare Services that act as Residential).

People tried to find someone to take over this mod to no avail, but that option is still open for anyone who wants to take owneship and support this going forward. There's even the possibility of using this same idea to create Dorms for Teens going to college.
