Yes, you can set up a camp now in vanilla, but this mod still has more to offer:

- The location being permanently unavailable after the camp disappears is some kind of joke.
- When landing, the gravity ship should create not a settlement, but a temporary camp.
- When the ship takes off, the area without an anchor should not perish.
- There are no mineable resources in vanilla camps.

So, there are things that some users of this mod would like to see implemented.
Therfore, it make sense to update ;-)

Ahh man .. This mod was compatible with faction manager to load and unload camps ..

Huge thanks for this mod! I’ve used it in tons of my playthroughs. The fact that it got added to the base game feels like a big shoutout to your work. Take care!

For those that don't understand what happened and don't want to dig through 8 pages of o7, this mod is no longer needed because the problem was fixed in the vanilla game for 1.6.

Stop asking for an update to a mod that has zero need to be updated. Unsub if you want.

@Alias I feel you. I'm in the same boat with another game (Ancient MMO that is now only alive due to a modding community). I also took this weekend as a break.

Take your time, this mod means a lot to many people but you should probably play more of the game cause oddessy has made it a lot more fun!

@Macropod, so good news/ bad news time. The good news is that the rewrite is in my backlog [github.com] of todos and will probably be the next project I take on. The bad news is that I am a single dev operation that is notoriously slow when it comes to development (a byproduct of having a full-time job and a life outside of modding, like, I still haven't had a chance to actually play the game) and will be taking the weekend as a break of sorts. That said, I'll open up a dev blog discussion where I'll post updates as I work on them.

0. It's impossible to play without this mod. Thank you very much for it!
1. Caravan camps in version 1.6 are much less convenient than here.
2. The location being permanently unavailable after the camp disappears is some kind of stupid joke.
3. When landing, the gravity ship should create not a settlement, but a temporary camp.
4. When the ship takes off, the area without an anchor should not perish. Let there be an earthquake and a hurricane. But not the end of everything.

Please do something about all these wrong and inconvenient things!!!!

This was a long beloved mod for its excellent support features, i hope it comes back to 1.6 specifically to add in the massive customization options this mod brought (besides the whole camp) function. That said, i will miss this mod! I don't wanna downgrade to 1.5 though for its functionality given all the DLC I have i don't also want to revert to 1.5.

@Monkey Magic, neat! I still do want to rewrite this mod (complete with settings and everything), but that looks like a great option for the folks that want it (once you get your patches sorted out that is).

The o7 but isn't mandatory, but when you've been around as long as I have, the comments that equate to "update when?" get very old (especially when I already have an "when it's done; I'm working on it" in my FAQ).

Hmmm, o7 I guess...

However, I kinda missed the ores that this had, and vanilla campsites lack, so I went ahead and made a mod to patch those in....but wait, there's more! I also patched in the chance to spawn insect hives, ancient dangers, anima trees and so on (see link below):
