yeah that wasnt my doing its just how the compiler read the face flexes, I need to redo them at some point.

This is a wip the model youre working with here is broken what youre doing is what i attempted and failed at you experiencing the same problems i stopped because of, but there are some more models that could work, and the poster has no copyrights on them since they are direct ports from in game, the posters name is Gabriel Moreira. He/She (i beleive he but hey i dont care) has made two models worth exploring into a Lightning model from FFXIII-3 and a Lumina from the same game. Then theres two more models by AFO28 and rredrum that are Serah and Vanille from FFXIII. Please respond, i can help but im not that into lua coding but i can help. If you need clarifications friend me. This was written @ 4:48 am for me i realize there might be spelling errors, or other mistakes i dont care you dont like, screw off then.

I know, its gmod being stupid with it, and I have no idea why, also for any material issues, it may be because you are missing files from other games thet should be mounted to gmod, I dont know exactly which ones are referenced though.

thats because it had already been rigged for source as an NPC/player model, all I did was compile it with the correct animation sets and give it LUA coding.

I dunno what to tell ya, but it's still not fixed in both model viewer and ingame on my end. No where near close to how it should look in the pic you have uploaded now. By logic it should be but it's not.

not the files definatly updated, it seems that zeroing out flexes in the compile script do nothing, and im not entirely sure why, as they show as un-useable in the half life model viewer that comes with the source SDK.

Doesn't work still on my end. And it received the update but it's still the same as before. Dunno if it was correctly updated and I tried to quit, restart, enable and uninstall the mod as well so you may need to try and update it again as it's not the proper update on our end yet apparently.

Its weird though, because its only the game reading the flexes incorrectly, all the SDK tools read them as they should be....

If you could create custom hand viewmodels for this so they match the model, that would be good. I would rather see the hands of the model than the hands of the default gmod model when I hold a weapon.

it has nothing to do with the skeleton rig or positions, it seems to be a proble with the face flexes, which are being read incorrectly by GMod.

You need to place the bones in the correct places as well as place hitboxes in the correct places for the face and otherwise to fix itself. The higher the polgon count/quality, the more complex the bone structure gets. It can't just have the basic bones placement.

Typing: KeyValues = { citizentype = 4 }, between Weapons and Category in the npc LUA script will resolve the red error issuse in the Class line . Because so many models uses the HL2 citizen anims, custom models have to be in there unique character type for it work properly. Otherwise they will be marked as a missing models or mesh (RED ERROR).

I'm not sure if it will help the deformation issue but if it dosen't correct itself the second thing I would try is by going back to the model and try increasing the weight of her face so that it becomes static with no facial anims may resolve the problem. It looks like it is caused by her chin trying to snap into place with the default skeleton, that causing her jaw to become pushed inwards making the strange derpiness of the face.

It worth a try if it helps.

I did try including the citizen animation files in the compile scrip instead of what alyx uses, however that resulter in a red ERROR holding a gun each time I spawned the NPC with those animations :L

Hey thanks for uploading the model, most of the models have been mods ragdolls thanks for turning her into a NPC and PM!.

I'm not sure if it will work but try setting her stats or skeleton to the one the citizen have. Citizen models tend to have random faces when spawned eg: they look different from each other, where as alyx doesn't have random meshes and her skeleton is not a universal skeleton as the citizen ones are, it might be the cause for her face to drop out of shape. modders tend to use citizen properties for almost all NPC and player models. That's my only guess anyway I hope it helps.
