Ah, I found the vanilla strategy that causes US AI to justify on Vichy France.

I think it just happens that the US in my mod is a fair deal stronger than in vanilla so they are more confident with justifying on Vichy France.

In that case, the US and Vichy France might be hardcoded by vanilla as well, and I've just never seen it.

Both happened immediately after I as Royalist UK, and Germany, capitulated France in October 1940.

Italy does not have any hardcoded behavior towards the UK in particular. That is vanilla.

I have playtested the mod a lot on ahist as well and never has this problem.

Do give me more specific information on the date so I can investigate.

Adding to this, the US seems hardcoded to justify on Vichy France, no matter the circumstances.

For some reason a whole bunch of AI war justifications are now hardcoded into the game. This makes the mod basically useless if you go an alt-history path because it forces you to play historically.

I.e., I tried to play as an Axis-aligned UK via the royalist path. No matter what however, Italy will always justify on me. If I make a non-aggression pact, it breaks it.

Last thing 27th august 1941, germany was embargo'd by iran (neither UK or soviet did any middle eastern focuses) and this never happens in vanilla and it is nonaligned and they do not have bad relations so i dont get why that would happen

Soviet vs Japan border is probably an issue unique to this side of the mod, I will investigate it alongside other problems you have listed.

Also romania doesnt do any oil tech, resulting in germany trading away 60 factories for oil in 41 majority to USA which will be at war with it, afterwards it just completely runs out of oil

We have had Germany killing the Soviets by putting collabs on it before. So yeah.

We know they can do it. That's how they avoid pushing Urals anyway

The issue of Italy and Yugoslavia is a subject of debate right now.

On one hand, we can absolutely have it die in 1938 then let Italy lives off it.

On the other hand, Italy AI just doesn't make good use of it at the moment. We don't yet have the code support to make it work.

Germany will not put collab on the Soviets until they are actually pushing the Soviets. It is actually not remotely worth it from modding perspective.

USA heavy fighters have a very big problem:

It is just not good for AI.

France problem is dealt with now, unless your steam workshop isn't updating yet, or if ai_strategy is carrying over from old save.

advisor to spain is collectively decided by main team that will not be prioritised. Just not worth it.

as for Japan and collab, we randomize it rn because they are still in testing phase. They might or might not die to China and it is very hard to make them consistently perform on the bigger scale at the moment.

Germany still puts an entire army on border with vichy france (like 48 divisions), italy doesnt do collabs in yugo (it should attack it earlier), germany should do collabs in soviet, instead in early 40 it has spies on argentina because it joined the allies, bulgaria always spam requests for control of all the yugoslavian states and ends up getting it, soviet has 120 divisions defending border with japan/manchu in 41, india despite having 900k deployed only has 19 divisions defending its border with japan/siam in 41 the rest sitting in africa some without no orders at all, ai taking hundreds of thousands of casualties against greece, germany hasnt brought a single tank over, goth germany and italy always loose their entire navy, germany shouldnt be convoy raiding near land anyways

November 1939, UK has 18 on fighters. instead if producing 23 improved anti air that it licensed from poland. for some reason it also keeps its fighters in the UK despite being at war with germany. 1 game i observed the japan didnt do any collabs and puppetted china, the other it made collabs so it seems to be very inconsistent. italian ai has 8 on fighters in may 40, seems to horribly loose in libya every single time. the ai seems to never go off local police force even when poland is at 70% resistance, what is the point of them doing collabs on france if they arent doing harsh quotas

Early 1939 yugoslavia has a bigger army then italy despite italy having 35k guns in stockpile and only making 3 new divisions. USA doesnt rush heavyfighters instead its hardresearching improved small airframe, usa and other ai doesnt utilize all its dockyards.

Also the german/italian AI will only send 2/3 divs to spain and even when there army is big enough to send more they dont send more. and france still makes air (the entire time atleast 1/4-1/5th of its industry was on air. soviets also never seem to get the focus sent millitary advisors to spain done which should be rushed for xp

tech juggling is not possible at the moment,

French AI with planes is just AI breaking again. I am patching it.

Is it possible for the ai to tech juggle? For example france does laissez-faire, and if they juggled basic machine tools to finish it before that focus is done, instead of wasting the 3 boosts on machine tools 2, concentrated 1 and 2, you can rush machine tools 3 and concentrated 2 and 3.

Also why does the french ai build planes if they are also building tanks, building planes is useless for a tank build as france.

most of the france htds were halfequipped when germany dec so it shouldnt be having so much on air the german ai in 2 games i ran just brough through maginot because the french tanks insta deorg from attacking, why doesnt the french ai just put more on tanks and the UK air put more on air like both are supposed to

the france ai had like 20 on fighters in 39 and UK had about 40 with 30 on medium tanks and 30 on infantry euqipment its very not meta for UK to be having almost 2x its air production on other things

Romania can make enough inf but it is banned by a hidden division limits.

Too toxic to let it have 200 Barb inf so we collectively decided it shall not.

As for France.

Making AI attempt csc is a terrible idea. We have done it before.

Hmm, you don't have to,

But if you prefer it to be more consistent, just put DNZ into blocked. It is the tag for Danzig. That way everything else can work normally without any real issue.

I replaced the vanilla files with a different set of files anyway, and there are softcoded backup checks for AI to update template if they have sufficient army xp.

Hey, how did you get the AI to actually use and create your templates? Whenever I try to mod them some 20/40w, they just straight up ignore them. I locked/deleted the vanilla files by clearing them.

What you also need is to ensure your infantry has enough 1939 guns.

Without enough of those, you cannot survive as Poland.

tbh we did have a big failed mod update yesterday, so it could have bugged. But otherwise that's actually on the weaker end for Poland. Poland players are much much stronger while my own AI can only achieve around 60%~80% of what they can do in term of macro.

Hi man, your mod is fun. However I don't get how to win any war. I started as Germany, followed all the meta focuses and industry development, got 1940 Heavies and maxxed 1940 fighters in 1939 (Yes I don't have the plane designer). Despite putting 96 divisions + tanks + 1000+ fighrers and cas I couldn't even break poland. The Polish AI looks indefeatable, by the time I reach warsaw they had 24 divisions per tile and still could contest my air superiority. Also, how do they pierce 1940 heavies ( I know it probs uses AT, but still I didn't expect 100% piercing). One of their infantry divisions also can withstand 5-6 of mine (I checked and me and Poland had same width divisions). How does this mod works? How can Poland in just few months mobilise so many divisions and so much equipment? I think in vanilla this mass spam is impossible even if a human plays poland. Any recommendations on how to at least defeat poland and france?

Other basic tips that you may be interested in:

1. Line Artillery may become extremely ineffective against a line of infantry because artillery is expensive, has low breakthrough, low org, and low HP. It is better defensively than it is offensively, which is not the point during Barb.

2. Your tanks will always be pierced by Soviet tanks and vice versa, so there is not too much in adding welded armor. You should keep tanks relatively cheap by using riveted.

3. It is extremely muddy in Eastern Europe up til June. Snow conditions usually end on the 11th of April (they really do), but if you have snow-spec ranger company, you may attack since the 1st of April once Deep Snow is no longer present.
