Will this still be updated?
Tnesniv Yørel 13 Feb, 2016 @ 2:24am
Just to say: I have a weird bug using this one for multiplayer. After a desync, some units are transformed into others, and some in ones that have 7 strengh and cannot attack. It is not easy that way to siege a city, like I did with 3 composite bowmen, suddenly a desync, and then have 2 composites and that a 7 strengh unit (a horseman in my case). A horseman reinforcement also became a spearman.

none of what you said has anything to do with being up to date, but yeah I need to rework this civ someday
Bubblegum  [author] 23 Sep, 2015 @ 1:28pm
Don't worry Tgm_Gamer, this was one of my firsts mods so I kinda sucked at balance, design, etc... Hopefully when I get around updating it, it will be much better.
ErkanVerner 23 Sep, 2015 @ 1:07pm
Maybe you should change the antipope feature a bit. I think that gaining +1 happiness per 80 faith is unbalanced. Maybe you should change it to gaining happiness per % of faith. That way it will scale better early game and more balanced late game. But don't get me wrong, this mod and expansion pack is awsome. I really like the work your'e doing!!! :steamhappy:

Is it intended that when you make a puppet you still have the -25% science like a normal puppet would have? This is the most important reason why I have almost no puppets with this civ. PS this civ is really nice

i never try custom civs but this one looks very promising and interesting i will give it a try

How does puppeting and anexing and re-puppeting affect social policy cost?

I've found that when AI plays HRE it doesn't found catholicism, it founds buddhism. Can you set prefered religion?
Len 9 Aug, 2014 @ 11:38am
thank you :)

Can I ask you how do you make Mod civs? :)
Bubblegum  [author] 8 Aug, 2014 @ 5:25pm
@TheLohoped Thanks man, always nice to hear that people like my civs :D
Thelypody 8 Aug, 2014 @ 5:19pm
Just played a game as HRE. This civ is absolutely incredible! It's super flexible, allows spammimg cities while building national wonders, annexing puppets when you need these cities and turning them into puppets again, getting great amount of cash from the Antipope while sacraficing your religious output and maintaining a solid army. I have no words left. I declare this civ as the most original and the greatest custom civ! Everyone who doesn't use it misses very much.

I can't seem to find the peace theme online :(

If you are going to add a unique unit may i suggest maybe Pavise Crossbowman Higher damage and mayber range but costs more and replaces Crossbowman, Imperial Knight and Dismounted Imperial knight replaces knight and swordman? If not those Teutonic knight replacing Longswordman every kill gives you faith or a mounted one doing the same but replacing the knight. Those are general German troops if my history of the Reich is right, the pavise Crossbowman were widely used during the late feudal age if i remember correctly
Bubblegum  [author] 27 Jul, 2014 @ 10:49pm
because barbarossa is
thundernathan 27 Jul, 2014 @ 9:23pm
Why isn't Charles V the ruler?
DJRodizzle 27 Jul, 2014 @ 1:00pm
But the Holy Roman Empire was never a strong centralized state... It was just a collection of mostly small nations who constantly were at war with another :/
enix001 26 Jul, 2014 @ 9:30am
at least add templars which replace longswordsman maybe attack twice a turn but have -1/2 strength? or can move after attacking idk
Bubblegum  [author] 25 Jul, 2014 @ 9:34am
@He do was holy roman emperor but its not exactly the same. JFD has made a frank civilization featuring him though: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=88943691
I Maverick III 25 Jul, 2014 @ 9:17am
Why not Charlemagne?
jhonny sack 25 Jul, 2014 @ 8:33am
Apart from the missing UU (Which you'll add later, I hope), this civ is quite complex. You innovated and made something complex yet enjoyable, and I commend you for doing so.

8/8 wud fuk agen
Zwei833 the High Pinger 25 Jul, 2014 @ 6:17am
Haven't even 1 uu?
Bubblegum  [author] 24 Jul, 2014 @ 10:59pm
@Moo Zedong Indeed I do :P Also, nice election idea, might have a use for it later, if I dont use it here.
Moo Zedong 24 Jul, 2014 @ 10:38pm
Its odd that you chose not to have unique unit, building, or improvement, but ... two governmental decisions? I like it, its so complex! This mod has Crusader Kings written all over it, do you play it?

IMO it would be cool to have the capital change after a cycle of turns to represent the election system and give a bonus to whichever city the capital is.
[A.K.] Ramirez 24 Jul, 2014 @ 3:43pm
@TarcisioCM It's a comedy anime where historical countries and past empires are anthropomirphized as humans. The Holy Roman Empire is one of my fav characters.
Bubblegum  [author] 24 Jul, 2014 @ 3:34pm
@[A.K.] Ramirez hm?
[A.K.] Ramirez 24 Jul, 2014 @ 2:40pm
As a fan of Hetalia, I find this so awesome.
PurpleDragon 24 Jul, 2014 @ 2:20pm
*sigh* okay fine, I will give it a sort of wannabe empire thing, it was really like more of Greek and Mayan city-state sort of thing, that's why I called it "Not holy, not roman, and certainly not imperial.
Bubblegum  [author] 24 Jul, 2014 @ 8:47am
no flamewar in the comments pls
PurpleDragon 24 Jul, 2014 @ 8:41am
more like a wannabe empire, that died along with the rest of medival times when napoleon marched through. also fuck you sayerslot. fuck you.
PurpleDragon 24 Jul, 2014 @ 8:04am
I meant near the end of it's time, like the rule of the not holy not roman but somewhat imperial Charles V
there. Happy now, catholic?
Bubblegum  [author] 24 Jul, 2014 @ 7:53am
LOL that guy saying that the HRE was a puppet from the vatican when theres a fucking building named "Appoint Antipope" XD
Bubblegum  [author] 24 Jul, 2014 @ 7:49am
@Sayerslot Tomatoe The truly unique units for the HRE that I've seem (Doppelsöldner, Landsknecht, crazy dudes using Zweihänder) were not from the time of Barbarossa, and since I managed to make a cool combination of UBs + UA I dont feel like adding an UU. But fear not, this might not be my last holy roman empire... Any suggestion for Otto I?
PurpleDragon 24 Jul, 2014 @ 5:47am
@Thordal It was a PUPPET of the Vatican. puppets don't count in my book.
Thordal 24 Jul, 2014 @ 2:15am
@PackerDragon are you joking? You have no idea what this Name means, you dont even know what imperial means, the real world is not Star Wars -.-
A Most Sovereign Lady 23 Jul, 2014 @ 5:43pm
It wasn't a bad choice, I was just making note. ;)
Bubblegum  [author] 23 Jul, 2014 @ 5:16pm
@TheAstronomicon didn't knew from which city barbarossa was so I just used aachen :P
A Most Sovereign Lady 23 Jul, 2014 @ 4:48pm
Aachen was only capital of the Carolingian Emperors, and after their line died out the focus shifted to whatever city happened to be the city the elected was based out of. "Realistically" and I use the word loosely I would suggest Wien or Regensberg. Other than that, excellent mod, I look forward to using it.
PurpleDragon 23 Jul, 2014 @ 11:01am
Huh. Strange. Why in the hell would I get a mod for the not holy, not roman, and certainly not imperial holy roman empire
Bubblegum  [author] 23 Jul, 2014 @ 7:53am
@zArkham4269 its just an usual building (That does not replace anything), tried making it require faith but firaxis derped and everyone got the antipope. And yes, you can use captured missionaries.
zArkham4269 23 Jul, 2014 @ 7:26am
If anything, it would be nice if you could use inquisitiors to attack/capture missionaries and Grand Prophets in your territory. This would set up a similar AI response to you taking artifacts out of their territory.

If there is one thing I dislike about religion in Civ V is you can't do this without war. Or you have no option of telling the AI if they spy or convert on you, you *will* automatically go to war.
zArkham4269 23 Jul, 2014 @ 7:24am
So how do you "support an Antipope"? Is it a variant of the Great Prophet? Plus, when you say disband a missionary, do they have to be one of yours? If not, this would be awesome because capturing missionaries is worthless given even if you disband them in your territory, you get nothing.
Tim Walz's Horse 23 Jul, 2014 @ 5:09am
Just joking around :3
