RE: RimPy Error

it's nothing to do with this mod; it's the rimpy database being out of date, which can be fixed manually by deleting the entry for the old Death Rattle:


go into the RimPy DB folder "C:Steamsteamappsworkshopcontent2941001847679158db"

open the db.json with a text editor that has a search function

look for the entry of the old mod (you can look up the packageID in the About.xml of this mod)

delete the entry and make sure you don't mess up the list

delete from the previous "}," to the following "{" (the comma between the two entries is important!!)

The mod itself has no dependencies on death rattle set but is configured to load after the death rattle mods. This seems to be something RimPy has been doing for some time and I am not sure how to address it.

Still throwing the missing dependency error when using Death Rattle Continued [1.2] for me. I tried unsubscribing and resubscribing but that didn't fix it. Using RImPy as my mod manager.

The mod displays the Death Rattle [1.4] is missing when i have the alternative mod Death Rattle Continued [1.2+] installed

I'm getting the following error after updating to 1.5 , and enabling the Anomaly DLC, hope this is helpful.
If this isn't your mod causing an issue, I don't know how to pinpoint which one is causing this.

Thanks for the mod! Rimpy mod manager keeps spitting me the warning that I miss Death Rattle 1.4 dependency, although I have another Death Rattle mod (by cat2002). Could you pleeease fix that:)

I think this is a pretty minor issue, but rimpy is giving me the warning that it is looking for the Death Rattle [1.4] by trojan, despite having Death Rattle Continued [1.4] by cat2002 in the list. It does not show the warning when Trojan's version is loaded. i did check to make sure they were loaded before the patch, and I tested with just one loaded at a time, and did subscribe/unsubscribe and restart my pc. Still doesn't seem to cause any issues in game as far as I can tell, but i figured i'd mention it in case there is something i'm missing

I have made an update to the mod to remove all 'requirements' for Death Rattle. It will now let you add the mod without Death Rattle and provides support for replacing missing critical organs if you can somehow get your pawn into the pod for treatment without death.

I have added support for the 3 versions of Death Rattle listed in the description. It will show an error if any of those mods are loaded after this mod.

Please note: The mod by Cat2002 has not changed the ModIDs from the one by Troopersmith1. Rimworld will not be able to show both of these mods due to this issue and cannot tell the difference in terms of prerequisites. Please unsubscribe from the other if you see the wrong one.

im having the same rimpy error. this mod is asking for Death Rattle 1.2+ cont. by Troopersmith, and not the required mod by Cat2002.

Same as Yossarian, the interesting thing is if i switch to the death rattle that is recommended here it says im supposed to use the one from trojan, but if i switch to the trojan one it recommends me the one from here

Minor issue, but i'm using the subscribed to the version of death rattle in the description above, but rimpy is still telling me i don't have the correct version active. I haven't had a chance to test much in game, but I don't think I've gotten any red errors due to this yet.

Sorry to bother you again, but after the last update of your Biosculpter Patch I switched to cat2002's version of Death Rattle and immediately started to get errors right after starting Rimworld (in the main menu). Removing your mod or switching back to trojan's version of Death Rattle seems to resolve the issue. Could you please take a look? Yup, it should be safe to ignore. The mod's patching supports both but only Continued [1.4] should be needed to clear the in game warning.

You're right, it does have an external database. The problem is, its author has been inactive lately so the database probably won't be updated any time soon, so... do you think this warning is safe to ignore for now? I don't see any in-game errors about missing dependencies.

I've not heard of this mod manager before, but am I right in understanding it has a database of mod requirements outside of Steam or the mod itself? (Looking at https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1847679158 that is my understanding)

If that is true, it might take a little while for the database to be updated with changes.

Hi! I use RimPy mod manager and it still says that I need both versions of Death Rattle (Trojan's and cat2002's) to run this mod. I verified the game files and resubscribed to make sure your mod updated properly, but that didn't help.

Note: You might need to re-verify Rimworld's files to grab the update, as it does not look like Steam likes updating the same mod multiple times a day!

Should be corrected now, renamed to use the name the prerequisite mod uses internally as this is different from the Workshop mod name.

The Patch operation I had missed (oops) so now supports the former mod, [1.2+] and [1.4]

The mod should now work for all three of these mods, however will complain for the first old mod.

The in game name for the new required mod is "Death Rattle Continued [1.2+]", so it says its missing even though its there

Odd, I'll double check that! In game it just needed the one (Although it does look like the Death Rattle Continued is named 1.2+ in game rather than 1.4)

The mod has been updated to use Death Rattle Continued 1.4
If this causes issues for anyone please let me know and I can try creating a duplicate of this mod with different requirements.

Brain damage and Chemical damage should already be covered, added from Death Rattle! Not tested it however so please let me know if it doesn't work right.

I don't think the balance issue of selling organs is a major issue, considering you're trading glitterworld medicine for them.

Would love if something could cure death rattle's unique "brain damage" condition though.

I believe the standard medic cycle or a cryo pod can be used to buy yourself time (although it would not refresh the time for the deathrattle statuses.)

Another option I'd suggest looking into is the Life-support mod, this can let someone live in a bed while missing critical organs, as long as no solar flares hit! (not checked if updated for 1.4 however)

This is really good - I had a sanguophage get her heart shot out and never recovered from being in a vegetative state due to brain damage from Death Rattle. This should help prevent that from happening.
