@Salad at the time I was working on the mod they were bugged as hell and basically useless, and didn't really fit the vision I was going for. Sorry about that.

kinda sad you removed pikemen it was one of the staples of vanilla vlandian infantry and really nice for stomping cav charges

@LaughingCoffin It's been a while since I played Bannerlord, but if I recall correctly, you can change your banner color (which will change the color scheme for your army) both in the campaign and in custom battles. So no mod is needed to get these colors.

@Darkfire I think part of it might be that the higher tier Vlandian helmets give some crazy armor values. They definitely need to be toned down imo.

I played more then a 1 month with all your BARD mods,and it is great by visual but you are Buffed Vlandia too much, while Sturgia and Empire are joke..

I started so many Campaigns with, Sturgia, Empire, and Vlandia and Vlandia steamrolled everyone and they cant be stopped

@Shas'la, A small marker on the units seems like a good way to do it, but alas, you can never please everyone no matter what you do. Maybe the marker was just to intrusive? In any case I found out afterwards that the units I was looking for was still available through bandit troop upgrades.

@Drixi Thank you, I'm glad you are enjoying them. I'll get around to work on them more for sure. Regrettably, I don't have a full documentation of all the changes, it was already a huge amount of work to create and test the mods. I agree that the encyclopedia is not the best. At first I had a version of these mods that had a prefix before my units but people didn't like them so I've removed them at one point.

Thank you for the BARD mods, I love them! Good job and I hope you will continue working them some time :) One question: Is there a place where all changes are listed? For example. I was looking through the troops, trying to find a unit using 2H spears, but without luck - And the in-game encyclopedia does not really show what is modded and what isn't. Are they all gone in the BARD mods?

@Romeo Charles can't say for sure what would happen but it will likely cause issues. Both my mod and the one you mentioned edit the same .xmls so there bound to be issues.

I figure the answer is no, but is it compatible with variety unlocked? Since it seems like they rework all the armor and that's a big part of what is done here I'm assuming this mod would be redundant? Or would load order effect it so I could have the variety of armors (I'm using swadian armory and Open Source Armory) and have the stat changes from this mod?

I was wondering if you could give the vlandian special cav better shields since they only have dinky wooden ones, mine always get shitstomped by ranged units when i dont just charge them in which is i admit fun and effective but risky.

@condotier because the pavise shield wasn't prevalent in the time period Bannerlord is set in. I was going for 11th century look and feel, while the pavise wasn't really used widely until a couple hundred years later in the 15th century.

@Keep Calm sorry, there isn't a workaround. For that to happen I would have had to revamp the entire bandit troop tree, or cause massive incompatibility issues, so that was out of scope when creating the mod.

When upgrading bandits to soldiers, vanilla versions of units are obtained instead of new ones. Is there any workaround how to get modded units from bandits?

would it be possible to give t4 and t5 the reinforced mail shoulders to their loadouts, fits imo the chainmail style
+maybe give t4 and t5 more coifs rather than just cloth or mail
imo padded/cloth/mail coif look better than the loose variant
also I am curious why does low tier cav have better shields than high tier?

@bruno As far as I'm aware that's not possible. Regrettably the way the Bannerlord engine is set up, you can't delete the vanilla troops, and the only way to get new units into the game is to rebuild the troop trees from the base recruit units. I wanted to do the same thing, but I could not find a solution to remove the original troops from the game.

Was recently browsing through the wiki in game and found out that Hillman can upgrade into Vlandian troops, I think you forgot to change the ID of the upgradepath from there. If you upgrade from Hillman to Vlandian Infantry it will show the old Infantry not the new.

I'd suggest dropping the Voulgier instead giving the vulge to the sergeant and then having a dedicated spear man that promotes into pike where the Voulge currently is at. Provides the dedicated anti cav whilst also making sergeants the defined melee focus for vlandia instead of having multiple units with essentially the same roll.

As for the crossbow man vs sturgia thing absolutely drop the sharpshooters non focus stats a tad, they have the same melee skill as sergeants which is overkill for the skirmish specialist.
