@1longarrow So do me a favor and try the 1v1 fight between 2 dragons.
Try with the mod and you will see that it stays stuck on an animation without damage. They still do a screaming animation without hitting each other

*Sighs* Don't worry Hecleas, there are those of us who have at least SOME SLIGHT understanding of how mods are supposed to work.


Allow me for all those, "learned people," who think they know everything about mods.

This mod does NOTHING, (you get that? NOTHING), except change the VALUES and CHANCES/ODDS of two models 'syncing' up and battling using one of the, (formerly working), battle animations mods.

So to dumb it down for y'all:

This mod = change values/chances/odds that two unit models start a dueling animation.

You're welcome numbskulls, now kindly leave this modder alone.

That is disappointing, the matched combat mod is my favorite on the workshop for this game.

Quite simply because Matched Combat is no longer functional, I'm also a modder on it.
Unfortunately each CA update changes almost nothing about the animations, but this almost nothing forces us to rewrite everything one by one.
And there are thousands of tables.
We cannot support this work, it is infeasible.

Maybe we'll rework the mod when WH3 no longer has updates and we'll be sure that our work won't be destroyed behind it.
We can even bring missing WH2 animations + pharaoh animations.

But to answer your question my "more animation" mod which deals with the kv_rules table cannot in any way impact or interfere with the animations_tables table.

Sorry, but I still know what I'm talking about. Afterwards if people know more, I am open to new knowledge.

I tested this with empire vs empire roster with just the custom matched combat mod it works but when you add this mod as well they all start swinging at the air

It can't be from my mod. Even if I put random values, I can cause no problem, nothing that I modify (good or bad) can cause the problem that is happening to you.
So stay in your place and stop saying things that are false, even more so if someone contradicts you, knowing that I know better than you what I have changed.

I've done the test and can confirm that your mod prevents dragons from dueling. You just need to check instead of stupidly repeating your message

Hey Hecleas ,love this mod. I was using a bigger animation mod .but it did not gel well with Radious in campaigns.any chance to make a mod or adjust this one to have ranged or artillery reload faster ? just curious ..xoxo

Similar thing happening for me with Katarina on the Frost Wyrm vs a Giant. They just stare at each other. Definitely not this mods fault but its sad some animations are just not there.

I can reproduce the bug reported by @abaka with only this mod enabled. Start a skirmish battle between Karl on Deathclaw and a Soulgrinder of Nurgle and have Karl attack the soulgrinder and they will just sit next to each other without ever attacking.

I think you're right that your mod is not the root cause of this problem, but for whatever reason it causes this problem to be 100% reproducible in a wide variety of cases. It doesn't seem to reproduce reliably when this mod is disabled so I'm not sure whatever problem this is has been reported to CA. It might be worth looking into simply so that we can understand the technical mechanism causing this behavior so that it can be properly reported to them and fixed.

Are there certain mods that will cause this not to work? I don’t see it trigger between lords and a lot of troops. They just swing at each other but no special animations

@abaka oh no i didn't say that, i was just trying to come up with something that might work, i test mods constantly, i run 95 mods in coop without issues now,

btw do you know if there is a mod like this one but with 100% played animations? i remember having it in Atilla and it was awesome

Has anyone else had issues with Karl Franz with using this mod as of the new matched combat update? He seems to refuse to focus on lords when you tell him to attack one and instead just turns around and attacks whatever regular infantry is near him. It's been causing him to loose duels that he should never be losing.

@NorscanWarlord I know how to test mods. Although with only this mod enabled, Skarbrand at least occasionally beats Karl Franz on his pet, but the Karl Franz himself still just looks menacingly at the demon.

The problem is definitely with the mod. If you turn it off, the animations begin to play normally and the models deal damage to each other. Perhaps there is some kind of animation just for beauty, and for some reason the mod keeps them on constant repeat.

It seems there is a bug in this mod with dragons and fighting single entities. They will start doing idle animations in the middle of the 1v1, and then both units will stop hurting eachother and will just stand there.

What DB tables are these usually? I saw these comments were in Pharaoh animation mod you did but I am curious of experimenting on this with games like Rome 2 or this game when matched combat mod gets fleshed out more.

It is planned that I will take care of updating the "Custom Matched Combat Animations" mod of Xiphos.
We're waiting for the game update from CA on the 22nd, so I can start all that. Once the update is done, I will take care of importing the missing animations from the Warhammer 2 mod.

I hope this finds you well. I saw in the game Pharaoh that you put out a mod to improve the combat animations. Have you tried importing combat animations or tried creating new combat animations for this game ? I understand "matched combat mod" is attempting to do this but I was just curious if you yourself ever tried?

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to reach out to you regarding the combat animations in 3K you just made a few months ago, but unfortunately, I couldn't comment on the 3K combat forum. I have a suggestion that I have always thought about, so I believe it could make the game even more enjoyable for many players. Is there a possibility of importing some combat animations from games like RTW2, TTW, and TWP into 3K? (Example: sword with shield vs. sword with shield, etc.) I understand that the 3K game might not receive many updates anymore, but I think this could breathe new life into the gameplay experience.

Ive reverted my patch to the compatible patch for Matched Animations, would be good if you made a "legacy more animations 2.4.0"
