oblivion destroyed the environment but security persisted through out the rest of the game

An addendum to the Security bug: I used variant Legacy's ability to put Security on the bottom of the environment deck. The non-environment damage prevention effect persisted forever after this and the game became unwinnable.

Neat idea, but just kinda broken. I don't think the high HP of Security is what breaks the deck—it's as vulnerable to a mundane "destroy X Environment of Ongoing cards" as anything. It's the fact that nothing else removes Unlucky Tokens.

On one hand, if you put the bare minimum effort into Environment deck control (e.g. run Dark Visionary), you can pretty much avoid Security ever coming into play. At this point, it's easy to end up with absurdities like the Scholar drawing his entire deck each Environment turn and discarding it for thirty-plus damage, or Setback being able to redirect any amount of villain damage. Even without specific combos, characters having their entire deck in hand or on the field and getting full heals every Environment turn breaks the game.

On the other hand, if you don't try to control the deck, it's gonna screw you. Forget "villain sets up and you're screwed when you beat Security"—getting All In after a few turns of Environment cards pumping you full of Unlucky tokens almost guarantees someone's gonna die that turn.

The two big problems are the near-exponential rate at which Craps and Roulette give you Unlucky tokens and, again, the fact that literally nothing except Security removes them. It would be one thing if the Unlucky tokens were a cost paid for optional beneficial effects, but they're not—the Environment forces them on you, and you gotta plan around that.

And if you do plan, you break the game. If you don't, the game breaks you.

Yeah, this entire deck is basically ruined by the presence of it. It's HP is far too high, it's around slightly below half of most villains, there are 2 cards that bring it out in addition to two copies of itself, and again, it does nothing to prevent villains from setting up so you just get fucked b them the second you finally take it down.

I'd change the security blocking non-enviroment damage, it just completely screws up the flow of play, and basically dooms you death if you're fight a minion-heavy villain, like Voss, citizen sun, or during oblivaeon runs

this is a funny deck it did like 2K damage to a hero.

Thanks for reporting the bug, I think I've found a way to fix it but I'd like to test it and make sure. Could you tell me which card specifically triggered the effect, or which deck? Then I can replicate what happened and make sure everything works

BUG: I used an effect to remove a copy of security from the game rather than destroying it. The "non environment cards can't deal..." effect persisted forever after this.

Set back has a power where he can deal dam to a target equal to his unlucky counters, keep him alive for a bit and he can one shot almost anything. Off the top of my head In order to reduce the massive gain you could cap the grouper unluck gain.

If you have any suggestions to make it more balanced then please let me know, I didn't consider balance when making this as I was more focused on the theme. I don't mind making changes as long as it's something I'm able to do :ranald: Thanks for trying the mod!

fun little mod may not really balanced but it doesn't need to be. I like that it has art to many mods don't.

Clever concept. Never occurred to me that anyone could build an environment around Setback's unlucky pool. Well done.
