I could not stand having so much of my view obscured. It really bothered me.

The game was crazy lag-town.

And normally, these two things together would automatically make me down-vote the mod; however, I like it enough to hope that you can fix it so that I can enjoy stomping on the tiny, little combine. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAAhahahahahaahH!!!

Anyway, please fix it. I think you have something here.

Hey, thanks for playing the mod!

I recommend to lower the graphics settings, as the map can be quite demanding. It should be stable apart from that.

you should make it so that the UI isn't the way it looks like make it like you're viewing through a camera and try to have an effect where it's like the hud from halo or something. make the mech a bit like titanfalls mechs if you plan on making an improved version of this

Thanks for more info, if you don't mind we can move to the pinned discussion above, that is primarily for longer feedback.

Do you by chance play on the Quest 2? Presumably they don't have correct binding on some of the player's actions by default, and so the "Grip" button on one hand isn't binded.

However, because of this I added an auto-reload that if you fire with an empty mag, will trigger a reload.

you could receive some health for taking down a substation, in return for lowering max health a bit

what my experience was, i thought i was basically invincible until halfway through when i realized i have to be careful and ration health if i wanna get to the end. so i started avoiding enemies, spamming railgun from afar and being too careful which didn't really match the idea of a big badass mech

Healing wasn't necessary, because if it was present, I'd have to lower down the maximum health. There would be fairly large gaps between spots where player can heal if the healing stations were placed at the Sub-Stations or in the districts. I could do it like in Final Frontier, where killing enemies heals you, but here there are just so large numbers of respawning enemies that it wouldn't be very good.

I think the mod is best viewed as a playground(or a power fantasy) with fun weapons to use against many weak enemies, that'd normally in classic Alyx be hard to fight.

First things first, were you playing the updated version(when did you play the mod)?

Reloading is disabled intentionally, because of issues Alyx has with loading Saves(can cause crashes, break scripting - you can notice this in other popular mods on the workshop) - it shouldn't be much of an issue considering both the length of the mod and how it's structured to be non-linear.

i crashed while going to the last substation, also reloading doesn't work

gameplay-wise, i think the map is a bit too repetitive, plus i don't like not having any ability to heal

very interesting concept though

Recompile that fixes things like "dancing/floating" trees has been pushed.

Dear players,

The Update is live. Many, many improvements have been made. Especially when it comes to performance and stability.


I'll still need to do a complete recompile, which will take a couple hours and will fix things like the floating trees.


Make sure you have the latest version - Steam doesn't always update the game automatically, so try to both restart Steam and unsubscribe and resubscribe to the mod to be certain.

I believe most of your concerns will be fixed with the update. I'm working on releasing it asap with as many bug fixes as possible. I'm just doing a lot of testing to make sure I dont' break something else.

Some of the trees did that thing where they slide around (if I remember right you need to set them to prop_dynamic?)

And I encountered a glitch where the shield on the left arm wouldn't deactivate, making the grenade launcher unusable since the shield blocks it.

This is a really awesome map btw. It's always wild to see totally new gameplay experiences like this.
