I'm working on sorting that out currently but the end goal is still about double the original size. You won't have to download both sets of texture anymore nor unused textures. I've tried to incorporate new options / coverage as well so I hope the end product is acceptable.
It's been a must have mod for me since I found it so I just want to expand it's canopy and keep it alive, the more treehuggers the better.
If you have any issue do let me know and I'll work switfly to rectify it.
Also I can freely share my source for the 1.4 assemblies, the only changes were in settings.

Notably my Oak Trees; when winter and snow sets in, the oak trees disappear entirely. No idea why.
If you're using CMT Retexture - you don't have to.
