Thank you for a great job with this mod.
It's been a pleasure.

Thanks for unlisting an merging the mod. Will reduce mod bloat!

This mod will not be updated to 1.4 as it has been replaced by Barely Better Spots: https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2875366181

another bug: colonists cant rescue animals and place them on spots if those spots overlap with beds. they get left in the right place, but they don't "use" the animal bed. this also prevents them from being fed.

noticed a small bug: if you place a crafting spot over a table and char, pawns will get the "ate without table" mood debuf if they eat at that spot.

big brain mode: sleeping spot on a bed so you can sleep while you sleep

@Michiko. Patching Research Spot mod is very easy. Simply copy one of the patches included in this mod (eg Ceramics) and change the mod name to Research Spot and defName="ResearchSpot". I've never modded Rimworld before and it only took a few minutes. Research Spot is a great little mod and made even better with Barely Restricted Spots.

@PeasantUnit yes it said so in the discription

Can spots be placed on top of eachother?

one of the rare occasions I come to the workshop looking for something and find exactly what I was after. thanks!

Echo'ing below request, same mod, would love to see it added!
Michiko 14 ago 2021, ore 1:22
Hey, dunno if you're busy but if you have time could you provide support for this Research Spot mod ? Could be great for having like brainstorming sessions over a study/dinner table or around a campfire or something heheh.

Thanks!

Found a really bizarre bug. With this mod active in 1.3, the "make colony (full)" autotest debug feature fails to generate any workbenches.

(Ignore the bits about missing mod scenario components at the beginning. The highlighted lines don't show up as an error or warning, but I think they may be relevant?)
Serene 24 lug 2021, ore 4:35
Yes! YES! Finally they aren't stuck faffing around on the ground until I have workbenches lmao
pointfeev 21 lug 2021, ore 1:22
Thanks!

@pointfeev - Support for the spots from ZARS Tribalism added
Owlchemist  [autore] 18 lug 2021, ore 4:41
@trajda - the problem is on DocWorld's end. It's complaining that the node clearBuildingArea already exists. My mod resets this node before writing it to avoid this, but I'm guessing the other mod does not.

For now, this can be avoided by reversing the load order.

@pointfeev - I'll look into it!

@Owlchemist

There is a mod conflict between Barely Restricted Spots and DocWorld. This report has been sent to both parties.

@Owlchemist Is it possible to add support for spots from ZARS Tribalism with this mod and Barely Visible Spots? :)
Imposter 7 lug 2021, ore 4:03
I love this, makes things way more immersive!
Owlchemist  [autore] 20 giu 2021, ore 20:05
Yeah another comment was saying that too but I couldn't recreate this problem. I'll keep investigating a bit when I get the chance, though atm it eludes me.

I'm getting an eating without table debuff when my pawns use a chair which has a crafting spot linked to it. They choose the chair randomly even when there is one not linked to a crafting spot on the side. Normal bench and 1x2 table.
Arne 31 mag 2021, ore 10:53
I used a 1x1 table wich i think is from Vanilla Furniture Expanded.
Owlchemist  [autore] 31 mag 2021, ore 9:34
@Arne - I just tested this now and couldn't replicate this problem. Seemed to work fine. At least it did with the ordinary 1x2 table. Were you using a special table or something unusual?
Arne 29 mag 2021, ore 17:22
When my pawns eat at a table with a crafting spot they will allways get the "eat without a table" debuff, but they will still go there to eat. If i remove the spot they no longer get the debuff.
Hoki 26 mag 2021, ore 5:38
defintly a permanent entry for my modpacks - mainly for the fact that they wont by restricted by existing furniture.
Owlchemist  [autore] 25 mag 2021, ore 22:24
One would only hope!
ворнокс 25 mag 2021, ore 22:22
If you put party spot on table, will colonist dance on table?
Sentient_Worm 25 mag 2021, ore 17:17
Lookin like its gonna be perm addition to my game.
Owlchemist  [autore] 22 mag 2021, ore 2:09
Nope.

Finally, meditation on meditation pillows, my life is complete
Owlchemist  [autore] 20 mag 2021, ore 2:30
@obsidian29 it does not, no. One pawn will sorta nudge the other off to the side and they'll sorta share the same chair, half n' half lol
obsidian29 20 mag 2021, ore 1:47
Would this interfere with eating on a table that had a spot?
Owlchemist  [autore] 19 mag 2021, ore 21:30
Yep, this is mainly targeted towards people interested in base aesthetics and tidiness. That said, it does indirectly improve efficiency by potentially allowing your setup to be more optimized. You could place things closer together, or place meditation spots on chairs, etc.
Avericat 19 mag 2021, ore 21:25
@DisKorruptd That sounds very hard to add and increases the scope of the mod too much.
DisKorruptd 19 mag 2021, ore 21:04
hear me out here: crafting spots on tables give a small crafting speed boost, reason to build on tables, but low enough that building on table is still not as efficient as a proper crafting station
