hi using vcom bcombat and lambs (i use all three simultaneously) there is no way the tank doesn't spot you even if you sneak up to it, I must ask could there be an update so we could fix/disaable this in the addon options?

@Arend the Bastard, @Zak is correct in his response, it is very easy to allow any type of grenade to be used, however when specifying grenades the "set your grenade spiel" is in fact necessary. Furthermore if you'd cared to take a closer look at the mods functionality, you would have seen that you do actually need the grenade in your inventory and the script will actually remove that specific grenade once used.

@Arend the Bastard Presumably because ACE Grenades includes ALL grenades, including chemlights, smoke grenades, and potentially modded "grenades" like throwable cans and bottles.

Small suggestion,
Instead of asking the user to specify the grenade to use in CBA settings, and then magically pull that grenade out of their arse, why don't you just use the same mechanic ACE uses to detect the grenades a player has in their inventory (See ACE Grenade Throw) and just use one of those? It would massively simplify this whole "set your grenade" spiel, whilst also being somewhat more realistic since... You know... You actually need to have a grenade in your inventory to use it.

So I'm trying to add some FOW grenades to my server, is there any reason why it's not taking the input? (I've tried multiple other grenades btw and it only takes the base grenades).

@✠⩩Domn Ionescu⌖☦ unfortunately not no, possibly a generic ace animation, but integrating any sort of climbing or hatch opening animation would have to be done on a tank, by tank basis. Requiring separate helpers and animations for each tank. So in short, no.

Alright, went in and configured it. Didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would. Is there any way to change or disable the alert timer? Kinda want to throw a bunch of smokes and have a guy run up and kill the panzer. Thank you in advance, and thank you for being so active on this page!

@ajwubbin there may be patches to include a longer list of default grenades, however there is no quick fix as there is no base grenade class to derive from. The fastest way currently is just going through the arsenal, apologies.

Going in and manually adding all the grenades in IFA is kind of a pain in the ass, will there be official patches available to quickly add all grenades from a given mod? Or is there some way I can just get a list of all grenade classnames?

@MAJ Thomas - ASOT thanks man, glad you like the mod. The mod needs to be run server side as the cba settings for the grenades are defined by the server/mission maker and are global to insure each player has the same grenades defined. Also if you want to repack it, go ahead.

Coming from a current serving armoured vehicle crewman, I can tell you that it is 100% a possibility of this occurring. Yes, when in an AO, most of the time we will be hatch down with combat locks on. But in countless situations the crew commander is out the top to allow better situational awareness or to get eyes onto a difficult target. If caught off guard, the crewie could be killed and a grenade thrown in if the enemy was quick enough. Is it unlikely that a person could sneak up on a vehicle and get a grenade in, yes. But that's not to say this mod is a bad idea. I think it's a brilliant idea as it allows us to go up to a disabled tank and eliminate the crew to ensure it's dead.

@Genosse look mate, you could tell me the exact lock on an Abraham’s that prevents it from ever being opened, but I don’t care, I enjoy the mod, everybody who has subscribed has enjoyed the mod, you simply don’t have to use it. @FrogmannDust with some tank models this is true, however when standing behind or on top of most tanks the player is unharmed. A delay may be added in the future but due to the quirks of arma's engine it is no easy feat.

@Burger the mod is untested with unsung however it should work. You may still run into problems as the unsung team is not fond of ace, and do not have an official ace compatibility patch.
