Hiya! I've been super keen to play with this mod for ages, and I've finally gotten the last achievement so I can now play with mods!
I'm wondering if you have plans to update the mod for 3.1, and a question if it should work regardless?

What's even more peculiar is that when I do `git status` I see there are 4 files with uncommitted changes and 2 files that are untracked.

I'd advise against neglecting to commit changes before releasing.
What could have happened if your local storage medium failed?

There is a ".git" folder when one downloads this mod.
I don't see a single reason why players would need 2.7MB (out of 4.7MB total) of VCS files.
If you want other people to be able to contribute to this mod, GitLab/GitHub is a better medium than Steam Workshop.

You also should check git LFS, the reason 57% of your mod size is ".git" folder is because you store binary files in plain git (it can be seen via e.g. `git rev-list --objects --all | grep .dds`).
Git was not designed for this and will bloat ad infinitum.
Git LFS was designed to augment git with the ability to handle binaries inside git efficiently.

3.0 seems to break some of the stuff the mod adds into the game, while those things doesn't show up anymore, everything else that does show up seems to work the same, I will update the mod a little later, but for now, it should be alright.

@guluere - Actually I just thought of something. Could you add a similar building that allows generator districts to give amenities? Ever since Maintenance Depots were removed, it's been a little hard balancing amenities for Machine Empires

Like:
Up to 10 Generator Districts: Add 1 Maintenance Drone jobs. Amenities +8 per job

Actually, I found the power divider and it looks like it's turned off for Gestalt intelligence (Machine/Hive intelligence)

There's a power divider!? I haven't been able to research it yet while playing as a machine empire. What's the tech name and I can check?
