Hello Brandross!

I really liked your "Alternate Lithoid ships" mod and I was going to use them in my Stellaris mod "Species of Stellaris". It was going to be used for a flame-based species type that will be added in the mod in the near future. If you have any objections, please let me know. @Brandoss The basic shipset still works, but NSC 2 parts are borked as of this moment due to changes in which parts are defined in NSC 2 Version 7. They have been replaced by the Reptilian parts (Which while making for some interesting visuals doesn't look entirely good).

there were some drastic changes to ships from what the patch nots of 3.6 mentioned if i am not mistaken. F.e. we now have Frigates and ships would get certain roles. I havent yet played 3.6 but was just checking all my mods i had sofar installed which is why i stumbled upon this.

The change that affected this ship set are when NSC2 changed the ship sections with release of 3.6 , so there are issues with missing sections now.

As far as I know, it should still work so long as they haven't done anything major to how ships function. I haven't done much with Stellaris in a while, TBH.

if i may suggest something could you add the lithoid megastructure skins to this shipset?
i noticed when i built megastructures they lacked the lithoid stone texture

Very nice looking ships. Spotted some issues with the locators though:

Juggernaut: All of the M slots are in the same place and none of the turrets show up
Cruiser: Hangar Core section has both PD slots in the same spot and turrets don't show up
Destroyer: Picket bow section doesn't follow the trend of the unique slot being central. So instead of PD in the middle with small on each side, it's PD on the side, 1 S in the middle, 1 s on the other side.
Corvette: Missile core section doesn't follow the trend of having two central slots one in front of the other (e.g. Cruiser Artillery section).

Admittedly last two are more of ocd triggering bugbears than legit issues

Hello @Brandross, you made a great mod and I'm playing it often. For multiplayer and centralised localisation, I have started a private merged-mod project. Included are theme related mods, so players get more variability and are able to load by one click. Now the positive demand seems growing beyond private quarters and it might be a good idea to change it into an official released mod. Therefore I'd like to ask your permission to have your mod included into the mod collection . I've sent you a friend invite and with your permission granted, I'd like to name you as co-author and probably start some co-working. Thank you!

I don't know if you know how to make citysets, but I have a suggestion: and what about making a Alternate Lithoid Cityset inspired in the Giant's Causeway ( https://www.ramblersholidays.co.uk/europe/united-kingdom/northern-ireland/giant-s-causeway-and-the-nine-glens )?

Update on testing, when your mod is removed, the affected lithoid and mammilian shipsets habitats turn black. Whatever this mod is, it turns the habitats black and makes lithoid and modded shipsets black. However, the machine shipset is unaffected.

I can not for the life of me figure out which mod turns the habitats black. However, the arthropod shipset works fine, so thats fallback. However, the lithod and mammalian shipsets are still glitched. the lithods use the habitats from this mod, and their habitats are black. The mammalian habitat is unchanged, however it is still black.

looks awesome, if you need ideas for new shipsets..how about an actual true plantoid shipset or something like marble ships with golden trims.. something between studio ghibli technology and final fantasy 10/13 tech.

I'm looking into the habitat issue. I think it might have something to do with the mod's file structure, but I'm not sure. If I can't get it fixed in the next day or two, I'll probably just set it to default to a vanilla model and hope that keeps the game from changing things it shouldn't. Sorry 'bout that. The coding side of things is still fairly new to me.

With a bit more testing, it turns out that the silhouette part is an issue from another mod. That being said, this mod was the cause of every habitat becoming the one from this mod.

@Trace Projectile What other mods do you have in that might mess with this? I'm also getting the black habitats, and it's most likely a mod we have in common.

FYI the thing about shipsets that changed in 2.7 was the habitats. They now use three differently named models, so in this mod they show up as black shapes.

You would probably be fine to use your existing model set at slightly different sizes in the text file, at least as a temporary measure.

Also I'm gonna make a city file inspired by this mod as I've been liking the look, and it lacks its own city (the game's fault for not having standalone ships) so that's good.

When I install it it doesn't add a new shipset or replace them, I guess I have a mod conflict.

Ok, seriously, I do like this shipset. It's cool and I think it looks appropriate for both Lithoids and your more sinister space baddies.
