If you have issues it is not because of the mod it is because of the new Stellaris game launcher that not properly detects when a mod is updated. I hope Paradox will fix this soon ...
To fix this do the following steps:
1. Make sure your Stellaris game launcher is closed
2. Delete mod files from "steamappsworkshopcontent281990"
3. Delete mod files from "DocumentsParadox InteractiveStellarismod"
4. Delete file "mods_registry.json" from "\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris".
5. Unsubscribe/Resubscripe mod in steam.
6. Start Stellaris game launcher, enable mods (no issues should appear in game launcher)
7. Start the game, play the mods & have fun :)
The ability to skip the unreasonably boring early game is by all means invaluable.
"So this pretty much turns you into an advanced empire?"

"is all tech are reseached?"
Nope, and nope. You get a random sized patch of space (see above), all your mines are built, except for exotic resources because no (or very little) tech is researched. You also have to send ships to build the research stations. You get several construction and science ships, a handful of corvettes, and several planets (depending on empire size) colonized with a handful of pops each. Also, a decent sized starting amount of main resources, and most will be in the plus, but something might be a negative monthly production (energy or minerals, etc...) so you have to start... you know... managing your empire.
"Possible to have another version that lets it so some empires start of big while others start small ...."

"Any chance for a version that spawns the player with fewer systems than the other nations?..."
First, I experimented a little bit: If you set up all the parameters of your game (galaxy size, number of empires, etc..), the start the game, then immediately exit to the main menu, and start a new game with the same empire and settings you just had, you can do it over and over... you get a different sized chunk of territory each time. One time it's huge, another it's tiny, sometimes it's roughly an even slice of the pie. The randomosity factor is kind of cool, actually. Which brings me to my next comment:
