Yes its a nice looking ship but the strafe and the yaw or turn speed is really bad.

@jrandall Thanks again for another awesome ship. I'm coming back to Empyrion after a long break. I added a couple more retro thrusters to the front and upgraded the existing retros to T2 and she's flying great. Now I'm on to adding a shield and a bit more power. Really enjoying this boat!

@Evmeister88 While in 3rd person you can lower your view (and raise it) using the page up and page down keys. Set it to where you like and it will remember it!

Really like these ships but this, the Condor, and Marauder all have offset camera angles when I go into 3rd person. The Condor third person is way up high. I'm wondering is there any way to fix this?

Thanks Skel, and Loco Porco. I agree. This was built while flight model and CPU was being changed often with patches. The stats kept changing and it would fly different from one week to the next. I do need to take a look at it in A12 and see if I got some room to add more thrust power etc. I was to the Tier 2 limit when building it and just couldn't add anything more, but maybe that has changed some in A12 or even later versions of A11. I dont get this one sorry. It barely move sideways to dodge incoming turret fire. Very, very slow. with no cargo.

Thanks -=PB=-PhelixPhoenix. I been liking interior cockpits more now too. In this case, the prefab cockpit is much stronger than the glass needed for an internal cockpit. Thanks again!

Great planet hopper. I would love it if it was an interior cockpit, exiting outside this vehicle in certain situations is, uh, dicey sometimes; especially when used as a utility vehicle for running missions and planet hopping. Super great as all the MCRN stuff is, can't wait for more!

I'll be honest, I've been looking to replace this for a couple of months with something 'sexier'...I still haven't found that replacement. The utility, toughness and firepower have been too good to me

Huge fan of the design. The actual usefulness of the craft beyond very basic starter purposes is a bit questionable as it is unshielded and doesn't strafe well. I find the Marauder to be a far more useful SV in this line.

I can't wait to see what other MCRN designs you cook up, and I hope to see some more combat-oriented ships! Because you already have a couple excellent platforms for SVs/HV's to operate from, I hope to see a bigger emphasis on firepower and survivability without the frills (constructors, fridges, warp, etc) that their base or CV would already provide.

Overall a good somewhat early warp SV. Rare resources are few enough that just one or two smaller/simpler POI will give you enough to build it. The handling is a bit awkward, turn and tilt are both a bit slow, but powerful lift and very fast thrust allow for quick gathering from distant deposits/POI's, asteroids and other planets earlier in the game. Not elegant, but definitely useful.

It's very much a hillbilly mod, but once you lose the T2 constraints you can basically slap what you like on. I'm not really aware of the community 'meta' here, but I suspect for designers like j, the cpu constraints are to some extent a feature in terms of challenge. But for people who just want a sexy-looking ship to goof around in, having a shield is just really nice.

qpiine do u want to publish ur t3 version. i could use something like that too. i like the mcrn theme but most of the ships dont fly right now. talon feels like a brick and the skive is just crazy fast in lift, but super slow backwards down or turning. didnt tryed the others yet. i dont blame jrandall i blame the cpu limits. maybe if the make the limits a little bit higher again we have good flying but not giant block ships

Great little early-mid hull. Out of the box it's a stellar starter-world performer, capable of blapping low-level POIs and basic moon and planetary exploration. Flies very respectably with basic thrusters too, so you can make the fuel go a LONG way.

But what I really like about it is that the design is so flexible. It's got loads of internal space (and even externally in the frame), so it's easily modded to have T3 cpu, shields, more fuel, more thrusters, etc when you want to go to slightly more dangerous worlds in something flexible and noncommittal (I call this upgraded version 'Claw-T3').

This is my Swiss Army Knife vehicle at the moment - great for initial scouting of any world or environment, quick expeditions, shopping runs, etc. I've had a fairly good look around and there's nothing quite like it in terms of size:functionality potential, it's just such a nice airframe.

Thank you Greta Thunberg, CrazyZ, maulkye, and DASHEDM :) @Greta Thunberg, I don't quite follow you. It is a steel hull and the blocks are fairly weak but have more than 18 HP. In fact even a touch of carbon substrate (interior trim) has more HP's than that. As of being over on CPU, it is at 99% even after the many patches that have taken place since release. If you don't like that, remove the 2 extra cargo boxes inside. I can't add RCS as that would raise CPU. I had to make this fly with 0 RCS. Trying to get this much stuff in a T2 SV was pretty challenging especially when everything was in flux via patches etc. Thanks again all!

@Greta Thunberg please read recent update notes - "increased SV thrusters CPU cost by 10% for balancing" - that's why it's over CPU, and most of the shots (which you should evade, because it's not a CV heavy cruiser) will go to the cockpit, which has almost 2k hitpoints, should be enough to raid POIs in the early game.

Frankly I turn the CPU stuff off for my games. IMHO the whole idea's been a dubious addition from the start (enforcing tiers with a nonsense limitation?). I'm hoping this goes away or gets ignored by ship authors in the future. Or at least bumped up a bit.

The armor level, mass, and performance balance make sense to me though. You get what you pay for. A ship can't be an RV, a tank, and a race car simultaneously. The Talon is a good, cheap, well rounded, solution for the early game. Its mediocre at a lot of things, but not really a master of any. Its a good early game ship to handle logistics and set up for your first CV. It looks good too.

It's OVER CPU and you have blocks on it that are just 18 hit points. What on earth is the point of this? The moment it gets hit this thing is dust! It's also short on RCS's

Ditto on the O2 in the rear bay, nearly fried myself on a Lava Planet back there. :) I do like the quick cockpit access from the rear, saved my life. Love the paint scheme on this series.

I'm also having weirdness with the o2 in the interior. No oxygen at head level.

Also, the internal temp is the same as the external temp. Oddly, this wasn't happening yesterday.

the O2 tank on the left side prevents it from being airtight.Like the design though,am using it in my game.although I did adjust it a bit and make the cockpit part of the interior (chair).Am just not a fan of poping outside the ships when exiting the cockpit.

Thanks fulGriM^ and Jupiter Vessel Corp. @Jupiter Vessel Corp, I agree, but CPU limits kind of doesn't allow much more to be added at a tier 2. I normally like combat SV's to be more agile myself. But if I added that stuff, it would drop efficiency or need to go to tier 3 in which I hear the tier 3 blocks are hard to get. Thanks again all!

I really like this ship but I would of like to see a little bit more thrust for left and right and reverse. Its kind of a pain to fly right now but I do like the design.

It is not a strong ship but does have a armored cockpit. It is about all I could do at tier 2 CPU wanting the room inside etc. Someday I will make some tougher SV's at certain CPU tiers. @[10-4] Daimkake, yes. That is a side effect to using prefab cockpits. The armored ones are very strong compared to glass made interior cockpits, but you have no option on how you exit the ship. But the HP's vs glass windows is far better. Thank you again all!

Good all around ship and very nice design , nice cargo and flying abilities for a T2 cpu ,
Don t run into hard POI with it , 4 plasma turret shoot and you can expect major damage leading you to the ground :p but light POI are nice to loot with 8k cargo . Thanks !
