Weirdly, I cannot spawn the default npc_sniper, and I don't even have the Nextbot Pack addon. I think it may be the Tiny Desk Engineer addon, which has an entire Tiny Desk team including a sniper, which may somehow override the hl2 npc.

Honestly, could not spawn the npc_sniper in GMod, had sv_cheats enabled and everything. Maybe this will allow them to spawn, so I can complete the level where Barney's trapped on the roof because of a couple snipers.

1. why do they not hold anything?

they don't hold anything in the actual game. they aren't meant to be seen.

2. why don't they die to bullets?

they die to explosives. again, this is how it is in the actual game

3. why don't they move?

they don't hold a weapon. if a combine soldier does not hold a weapon, they cannot move. the point of this would be that they would be in a stationary position, and this is also the case in the actual game.

4. what is half life 2?

i'm not even going to explain this, search it up on google.

also other custom combine NPCs attack sniper - it's as if something with NPC relationships or factions was broken like sniper wasn't an combine unit

he is attacking combine assasin and cremator added by default by CPTBase Redux. combine units are supposed to be friendly to each other, and most other custom combine NPCs I have never attack each other. I know this is original NPC from HL2 unmodified but can you please fix that?

For some reason when I spawn them they don't have a rifle but still shoot while in the idle pose.

if its a tiny tf2 sniper either disable or unninstall tiny desk engineer or unmount tf2

that means you have the tiny desk engineer addon enabled, which conflicts because the tiny sniper uses npc_sniper and this one does too
