Of course this is an amazing mod! I actually do like that name a lot. It acknowledges the original mod and you know it's compatible with repentance because it's in the name. Really good idea I think.
Connorsseur  [author] 15 May, 2021 @ 5:10pm
@TheRampage555 I'll likely tweak the name a little-- I'm thinking cHUDpentance, but maybe that's a little too goofy. I'll think about it.

I'll absolutely link to the Rep version here once it's done though, and rest assured I have been making progress on this well before the API was updated.

Thanks for expressing interest in the mod, it means a lot!

This is the perfect mod I need these colors here but don't need them anywhere else on the menus. Very glad to know it's coming to repentance will it be under the same name and easy to find once it's out?

(Putting this here for the few who are subscribed to this thread).
At long last I have uploaded version 2.3-- the modding support update! It's only for Revelations and Fiend Folio, but that's nothing to scoff at. Well over 300 entire sprites had to be meticulously colored in, and dozens were redesigned or altered in some way to incorporate colors.

Thank you so much for all of your support on this mod, and I'm excited to start work on the Repentance iteration of the mod upon the DLC's release (yes, I'll be uploading a new cHUD mod altogether for it).

Finally finished and uploaded 2.2! Future updates will release unannounced.
Connorsseur  [author] 29 Mar, 2020 @ 5:49pm
Hi! I am NOT announcing a finished update-- but I am announcing that progress is once again being made on a new update! It will continue the existing plan I have for the 2.2 update, which will consist of the next two pages of items on the stats page. Currently I am about a quarter of the way through this, so I hope to get part 2 of this update wrapped up in a week or two!

Afterwards the plan is to finish the last half-page of items, and then polish every other little thing in the main cHUD mod that I'm discontent with in some way. I may also look into implementing some new features for the mod in this part of the update, as a result of an upcoming new item in Repentance.

Until then I'll continue to update my percentage approximation of where I'm at on the update.
Connorsseur  [author] 25 Oct, 2019 @ 5:43pm
Part 1 of the 2.2 update is out now! Polished up the first two pages of items. Got a shiny new thumbnail to show for it too! Hope you guys enjoy, and are looking forward to what else I have in store c:

Haha! Wow. Just realized this mod recently made it onto the Most Popular front page, and that's awesome! So, I think an update on the update is finally due.

Sadly I have much less positive news to report there. I haven't worked on the mod at all this month. College has been rough. However! I do still intend on pushing some form of update before Repentance drops, and I think this is the push I needed to continue working on it! I have already updated about 90 or so deathitem sprites, but I have a lot more planned so the update is pretty far from finished.

I will refrain from giving an estimated release date until I have made more progress, but I promise the wait will be worth it. I'm really trying to up my standards for this update!
Ozvyat 12 Oct, 2019 @ 12:54pm
You're not annoying, it just takes a while to make something like this mod.
Connorsseur  [author] 31 Aug, 2019 @ 11:14am
Haha, yeah. Good point. I just want to make sure that my projects actually get finished for once! I'm setting a date that should let me work on the mod comfortably, live life comfortably, but still make sure I'm getting things done.

I won't hesitate to delay it even further it begins to stress me out though! Because as you said, this is something I'm doing for free, plus life takes priority.
Jill of Trades 31 Aug, 2019 @ 8:13am
You're not annoying. It's okay. Quit putting too much pressure on yourself. This is something you're doing for free and you have a life too :)
Connorsseur  [author] 30 Aug, 2019 @ 11:08pm
@Marona Final update on the update: September 13th is pretty unreasonable and I highly doubt I can make that. Instead, I'll aim for a September 30th release date. To sweeten this sour news, I will also be including over 300 improved death item sprites, because any project I begin quickly becomes an ever-growing unmanageable mess that eats away at my life like some kind of parasite.

Some of these touch ups have been quite hefty, because my standards just keep becoming more and more unreasonable! Such as Transcendence, which received a sprite redo that I am quite happy with.

Further updates on updates will only be posted if I am asked, because I realize I must be getting annoying at this point, and I apologize in advance for that. Thank you for your time, and interest in my mod!
Jill of Trades 23 Aug, 2019 @ 6:48am
Thanks for the update Toby! Will look forward to it!
Connorsseur  [author] 22 Aug, 2019 @ 7:51pm
@Marona Alrighty. So I've had my new laptop for a while, and that means I've had time to work on my mods a bit. The conclusion I've come to in that time: there's still lots of fixes to make to cHUD2.1. So, in other words, I'd like to work on a 2.2 update!

I'll include your suggestion along with the update, but sadly this will mean it's going to take quite some time to show up in the mod. I just finished my run through of the items page for said update and I noted 255 items that I want to improve in some way! The actual update will likely vary in number of improvements, however.

*Also* this is the Lite version for a reason. I have extra changes to make to the base version of cHUD2.1, and I will only release them all at the same time for consistency between versions and convenience on my end. Both versions will also see updated thumbnails upon the update's release.

In Isaac fashion, I'll shoot for a Friday the 13th release date, but no promises!
Jill of Trades 19 Aug, 2019 @ 7:40am
@atomik: Nope! I was able to earn achievements while playing through the game normally. I've killed It Lives, Satan, Mega Satan, Isaac, and ??? and still get achievements
NoFilters 19 Aug, 2019 @ 1:58am
Simple but really improves that bland item list page, thanks bruh.
Shiro 14 Aug, 2019 @ 5:44pm
@atomik If you haven't yet killed mom yes. If you have killed her no..
Kimota 14 Aug, 2019 @ 6:03am
Does this disable achievements?
Jill of Trades 13 Aug, 2019 @ 6:47pm
It's been a long time since I ever changed my nickname XD and no worries! You made an awesome mod in the first place and that says alot.
Connorsseur  [author] 13 Aug, 2019 @ 3:09pm
@Marona Okay, really sorry, but I don’t think I could implement this until about Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Seems like my laptop won’t be coming in at the expected time... *sigh*. I’ll implement it the first chance I get, promise!

Also, nice Phantom Brave references by the way! Didn’t catch that earlier.
Jill of Trades 13 Aug, 2019 @ 10:07am
No problem! Take your time.
Connorsseur  [author] 13 Aug, 2019 @ 10:05am
@Marona Oh! That’s a pretty good idea. I’ll try and change that sometime in the next few days. I just started college and I don’t have my laptop yet, so I’ll get on that when I can.

Thanks for the input though, I wouldn’t have thought of this one since I only use my 100% save file for working on this mod.
Jill of Trades 13 Aug, 2019 @ 7:03am
If I could give some feedback, maybe keep the locked items (items not picked up yet aka the ?s) as gray? I find the contrast would help.
Hpent 13 Aug, 2019 @ 6:49am
good :steammocking:
Quilp 12 Aug, 2019 @ 11:48pm
this is just really nice, thank you
Connorsseur  [author] 12 Aug, 2019 @ 10:12pm
@Marona Glad I could strike a balance! Its made me happy seeing others who feel the same c:
Jill of Trades 12 Aug, 2019 @ 7:02am
Thank you! This helps my eyes better XD
LW 10 Aug, 2019 @ 10:03am
Alright.
Connorsseur  [author] 9 Aug, 2019 @ 7:31pm
@LittleWhisKY HOW DID I NOT CATCH THAT OH MY GOODNESS, okay, thank you I knew it must've been something *really* obvious. I'll get that fixed lol.
LW 9 Aug, 2019 @ 7:24pm
Ok, so in that sentence, you said:
'Have you ever found yourself unsure of what you items you picked up earlier in your run, or unsure of what it was that killed you?'

The one thing you messed up, was saying you instead of your after the what in this dialog, 'of what you items you picked up'

Since that doesn't sound right, I fixed it for you. I also added an 'on' in that sentence to make it sound better. Now, read this:

'Have you ever found yourself unsure of what your items you picked up earlier on in your run, or unsure of what it was that killed you?'

This edited sentence is the correct sentence with all grammar and spelling mistakes fixed. Your welcome. :steamhappy:
Connorsseur  [author] 9 Aug, 2019 @ 6:00am
@LittleWhisKY Sorry, I might just be missing the obvious here, but what about the sentence is incorrect? I appreciate the heads up, but I need you to spell it out for someone as ditzy as myself >.<
LW 9 Aug, 2019 @ 5:55am
Just noticed how you messed up your with you in the dialog below:
'Have you ever found yourself unsure of what you items you picked up'
Please change it. Little mistakes like that get on my nerves.
Anyways, aside from that, this mod is great!
Connorsseur  [author] 9 Aug, 2019 @ 5:26am
@RedneckWorm Haha, yeah, no I completely understand. I tried to tone it down with the recent update, but that doesn't change the fact that those menus aren't using color for something practical, meaning that if it doesn't look great to someone, then it has no purpose to exist.

The character select is a bit of an in between of that, so I'll perhaps look into toning that down in future. I've considered splitting cHUD's Accurate Character Stats stuff into a third branch of ACS, but I'm really not a fan of having so many versions of *one* mod up on the workshop. Still, you did download for cHUD, not ACS, so idk

Personally, I love having everything colored in, but I understand that some people simply want to be able to tell what items and enemies are what without having to decipher a mess of black and white pixels. That's why I redid/edited certain sprites because I really wanted to emphasize the practicality of the mod, rather than keeping it as some kind of "pointless" texture pack.
zjk_ 9 Aug, 2019 @ 1:45am
Thank you so much. The other Chud mods implemented too much colour, especially on the title page and the character select screen. This is the perfect combination.
Connorsseur  [author] 8 Aug, 2019 @ 11:40am
@SusoTF Thanks for the kind words! Glad it be of use c:
SusoTF 8 Aug, 2019 @ 7:52am
Thanks for this mod man, really useful :steamhappy:
