I'll absolutely link to the Rep version here once it's done though, and rest assured I have been making progress on this well before the API was updated.
Thanks for expressing interest in the mod, it means a lot!
At long last I have uploaded version 2.3-- the modding support update! It's only for Revelations and Fiend Folio, but that's nothing to scoff at. Well over 300 entire sprites had to be meticulously colored in, and dozens were redesigned or altered in some way to incorporate colors.
Thank you so much for all of your support on this mod, and I'm excited to start work on the Repentance iteration of the mod upon the DLC's release (yes, I'll be uploading a new cHUD mod altogether for it).
Afterwards the plan is to finish the last half-page of items, and then polish every other little thing in the main cHUD mod that I'm discontent with in some way. I may also look into implementing some new features for the mod in this part of the update, as a result of an upcoming new item in Repentance.
Until then I'll continue to update my percentage approximation of where I'm at on the update.
Sadly I have much less positive news to report there. I haven't worked on the mod at all this month. College has been rough. However! I do still intend on pushing some form of update before Repentance drops, and I think this is the push I needed to continue working on it! I have already updated about 90 or so deathitem sprites, but I have a lot more planned so the update is pretty far from finished.
I will refrain from giving an estimated release date until I have made more progress, but I promise the wait will be worth it. I'm really trying to up my standards for this update!
I won't hesitate to delay it even further it begins to stress me out though! Because as you said, this is something I'm doing for free, plus life takes priority.
Some of these touch ups have been quite hefty, because my standards just keep becoming more and more unreasonable! Such as Transcendence, which received a sprite redo that I am quite happy with.
Further updates on updates will only be posted if I am asked, because I realize I must be getting annoying at this point, and I apologize in advance for that. Thank you for your time, and interest in my mod!
I'll include your suggestion along with the update, but sadly this will mean it's going to take quite some time to show up in the mod. I just finished my run through of the items page for said update and I noted 255 items that I want to improve in some way! The actual update will likely vary in number of improvements, however.
*Also* this is the Lite version for a reason. I have extra changes to make to the base version of cHUD2.1, and I will only release them all at the same time for consistency between versions and convenience on my end. Both versions will also see updated thumbnails upon the update's release.
In Isaac fashion, I'll shoot for a Friday the 13th release date, but no promises!
Also, nice Phantom Brave references by the way! Didn’t catch that earlier.
Thanks for the input though, I wouldn’t have thought of this one since I only use my 100% save file for working on this mod.
'Have you ever found yourself unsure of what you items you picked up earlier in your run, or unsure of what it was that killed you?'
The one thing you messed up, was saying you instead of your after the what in this dialog, 'of what you items you picked up'
Since that doesn't sound right, I fixed it for you. I also added an 'on' in that sentence to make it sound better. Now, read this:
'Have you ever found yourself unsure of what your items you picked up earlier on in your run, or unsure of what it was that killed you?'
This edited sentence is the correct sentence with all grammar and spelling mistakes fixed. Your welcome.
'Have you ever found yourself unsure of what you items you picked up'
Please change it. Little mistakes like that get on my nerves.
Anyways, aside from that, this mod is great!
The character select is a bit of an in between of that, so I'll perhaps look into toning that down in future. I've considered splitting cHUD's Accurate Character Stats stuff into a third branch of ACS, but I'm really not a fan of having so many versions of *one* mod up on the workshop. Still, you did download for cHUD, not ACS, so idk
Personally, I love having everything colored in, but I understand that some people simply want to be able to tell what items and enemies are what without having to decipher a mess of black and white pixels. That's why I redid/edited certain sprites because I really wanted to emphasize the practicality of the mod, rather than keeping it as some kind of "pointless" texture pack.
