Vanilla SG connectors are instant CTDs upon placing them onto a grid.

this mod seems to break the small grid vanilla connector, trying to place it on a ship while running this crashes the game

Heres a blueprint that brakes with this mod that is fine without this mod
For reference
Bluestar 29 Nov, 2021 @ 6:43am
At current Using this mod can cause complex multi grid blueprints to spaz out and brake itself
Something this mods changes causes bad physics interactions, or it could due to it being out dated this mod reverts some physics shape change that are in current vanilla

Any chance this going to get a update sometime soon?
Annastasya 30 Jan, 2021 @ 8:53am
@Raynor:

I would recommend Configurable Ore Detector+ since this one allows you to actually set a custom limit to give you exactly what you want and you can change it at any time if you so desire. (A reload of the world is required when changing.)
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 30 Jan, 2021 @ 4:17am
@Raynor
There are plenty of mods that increase the ore detector to various ranges. There's literally one in the top 5 if you search the workshop for "Ore Detector".
E.g. this mod:
https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2026389838&searchtext=ore+detector
🤣
Raynor 30 Jan, 2021 @ 12:59am
Would you be willing to make and Ore Detector mod? I was hope for something like Small 500m\Large 1000m. I can't seem to find and that work without causing ore to randomly disappear from the HUD or be OP. I know a lot of people would love a working Ore Detector mod.
Annastasya 25 Dec, 2020 @ 10:55pm
I found that the icon textures called for the wheels do not exist. WheelSuspension5x5.dds should be WheelSuspension5x5Left.dds, etc.

Reminder, if you notice any block mirroring in vanilla or DLC that are off, please leave a comment so i can add a fix for them. :)
StrongOne 16 Jun, 2020 @ 1:16am
What does this do?
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 23 Mar, 2020 @ 6:49am
I just tried and it works fine. o.O
Tho i just made a cargo, connected battery for power, added on all small ports a conveyor tube and a connector and tried to move some scraps to all the ejectors and into my inventory. Everything seems to work. Might have been a bug or something. Who knows. Sometimes a bug slips through by Keen, in meantime not knowing a mod author may mod a block with the bugged model, keen fixes it in the mean time but some modder out there doesn't know his mod has a faulty model as base and it's hard to catch it for the modder to fix. Happened to me a few times. xD I was lucky enough to notice and keep an eye out for Keens patch to update my mods. :)
Veevslav 23 Mar, 2020 @ 6:41am
I have no idea if it was reported. I am new to the game and found the bug when I was trying to do some different ship designs and the pass through inventory was not working for 3 pods, so I set out to understand the system, sure enough one port just does not work. It is one of the small ports. The others work fine. It might be the mod pack my friend was using, but it is a strange thing to edit for a mod.

To test it, I built a small ship and attached a conveyor junction to it. Onto that I attached a large container. I attached another large container to that one. I attached a small container to each of the small ports. I also attached a battery to the conveyor. I attempted to pass stuff through each of the small ports. One of them would not work.
Yes I made the sure the small cargo were lined up properly.
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 23 Mar, 2020 @ 6:25am
@Veevslav Thanks! Appreciate it. I had no idea small port on SG large cargo didn't work. Lemme check it out and also see what i can do. Although i wouldn't fiddle with that because if it is broken, it's one of those things Keen needs to fix. Do you know, was that bug reported?
Veevslav 23 Mar, 2020 @ 6:12am
@Community With an attitude like yours I am surprised she was dumb enough to stay around long enough to make a kid.
@Psycho Does this mod by chance fix the small block large cargo small access port that does not work as a pass through connection?
Just curious.
Also hope things worked out with your GF. If not I am betting she was high maintenance and could not stand the thought of you dedicating your time to anything but her. If that is the case you dodged a bullet. Good luck either way.

My ex wife left me and took my four years old son. Six months of war already... Believe me, your trouble is not too serious. Find a new girl, be a man, respect yourself.
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 9 Feb, 2020 @ 8:50am
Due to some personal life issues (GF leaving me, me fighting for her heart <3) i wasn't active some time but i'd assume it perhaps is and hope some can test it out themselves and let me know if it's not. Sorry! :)
communityoffline 9 Feb, 2020 @ 1:05am
is it compatible with weapons mods? like new battle system?
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 8 Feb, 2020 @ 11:42pm
There is a pinned changelog in discussions listing all changes made. ^^
communityoffline 8 Feb, 2020 @ 6:46am
So i still don't get it. What this mod do?
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 21 Dec, 2019 @ 7:19am
Hey everyone, need help, might take a look at this please?

Thanks!
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 21 Dec, 2019 @ 12:14am
I am in the middle of complete check up and add some new edits to include the decor pack 2 as well. Those stairs and catwalks are REALLY annoying me to hell and back. Just need to extend a tiny bit of mountpoint to make it possible to make clean stair-to-catwalk-to-stair builds and also make builds more stable in the long run.
Balmung 20 Dec, 2019 @ 1:55pm
Yeah, I know that problem, that is the reason i asked. That is really annoying and makes it unnecessary difficult for such a mod. It would be the best Keen fixed that stuff themselves.
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 20 Dec, 2019 @ 1:47pm
And that is why i hate how Keen implemented the modding methods and xml parsing. Instead of letting us only supply entry changes within the definition we wish to alter and likely will never change, the whole definition is being loaded in a all or nothing manner. Meaning, i have to check everything everytime after a major update to check for new entries or rebalances and other mynute changes. Ugh...
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 20 Dec, 2019 @ 1:43pm
It should. Tho it takes a bit of time to go through all the blocks and changes to see if there are new things added to blocks or rebalances but other than that, should be fine unless someone posts specific issues.
Balmung 20 Dec, 2019 @ 1:23pm
Does this still work with the actual version of SE?
Engineer Chad 12 Sep, 2019 @ 7:12am
Thanks again theimmersion. I'm loveing this mod it fixes so many things! :) Keep up the great work and passion for this game and for helping people! :) You improve all of our lives by improveing our ability to bring to space engineers that creative spark that dwells within us and leaks out into inspirations and witty contraptions! :)
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 12 Sep, 2019 @ 5:29am
Not sure, sadly. You'd have to dig a bit. Also there's no real scripting involved. Just some base xml editing but it can get confusing and time consuming.
Engineer Chad 12 Sep, 2019 @ 5:20am
Are there Tutorials on how to do all of these because I am sadly behind the times on my skills with this game. Scripting all of it. lol. Thanks again. :)
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 11 Sep, 2019 @ 10:24pm
Aww, that sucks. I'll check it out as soon as i can.
You should try see what corrupted it so it doesn't again. Or at least try messing around on how to extract stuff from world files etc.
Engineer Chad 11 Sep, 2019 @ 10:40am
Sadly I can't send the BP. Just tryed to load the world and it said it was corrupted along with the BP for that ship. Not sure what happened. :( All that hard work gone. :( Oh well from scratch it is! :) I only have the original BP that i dowloaded from the steam workshop. If you would like to take a look at the ship you can download it from the steam work shop, it's called the "Eve Amarr" The author did a remarkable job on it. It was a LOT of work to just get it pressurizable due to all the holes in the hull from where i guess mods once were. lol I love this ship! :) But yes it probly was a design oversight some where with the original authors work with the plumbing.
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 11 Sep, 2019 @ 2:35am
@Chad Not sure. Perhaps you could send the BP so i could check it out. Sound more like perhaps some construction oversight then a game bug.
Engineer Chad 9 Sep, 2019 @ 4:44pm
Hello theimmersion! :) Would this patch help issues with oxigenateing Huge Ships, so that you require less O2 tanks and O2 generators? I ask because i have been useing the Eve Amarr ship blueprint, from the steam workshop and have ran into i guess a limitation of the game, for HUGE ships to where everything is hooked up right and everything says pressurizable, yet in sections i can't oxigenate them unless i add o2 tanks and o2 generators in these areas. Thank you for your time and assistance with this. :) It had over 200 o2 generators and 200 tanks through out the ship way way more then i should have had to put on this beast even though it is rather cavernous.....:O
SpectreOne 21 Jul, 2019 @ 5:54am
Is there any way to lessen / remove particles created from mining? There are a couple of mods out there that seem to be outdated.
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 28 May, 2019 @ 8:39am
Erm, sorry, that mod is deleted as it was redundant. I did not know how the game handled DLC edits in a DLC free game so i had 2 versions just in case until i cleared that up. I added that info on top of the description but forgot to delete the link bit. xD
Elektrum 28 May, 2019 @ 3:53am
is it just me or this link is outdated ? https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1717265941
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 23 Apr, 2019 @ 10:30am
Thanks, i'll check into this. Although i'm pretty sure it involves heavy scripting which is beyond me. :(
seronis 22 Apr, 2019 @ 10:36am
Suggestion: Wheels / Suspensions

There is a mod that allows manually placing wheels and rotor heads directly on an empty suspension or rotor block respectively. And another that puts the mount points back on wheels. They dont work together no matter what load order I use. These both also seem like 'common sense' level features so if that could be added as a 'fix' here I would appreciate it.

TwitchingPsycho  [author] 22 Apr, 2019 @ 10:30am
Sure, i mean, your not wrong. A lot of the changes came from me building tons of ships and me having the 'oh come on, I could weld it there if i wanted' moments l. I should probably separate the mod then into my versions of fixes. 😂🤣
How about this, could you make a vote for some of the features you feel it's chatty? I'm not that into reddit and similar? I'd like too see some serious feedback what to add and what to remove. I'll link it them here in the description. Sound cool?
SuicideNeil 22 Apr, 2019 @ 9:36am
It's like I said, some blocks are designed so that you have to think about where you place them- adding mount points on surfaces that aren't mostly flat and clearly not intended as mount points is just a hack for poor planning or unwillingness to accept that those blocks will break loose if you grind or shoot away the mounting point beneath them. It does just feel too much like adding mount points to suit personal taste rather than truly improving game-play or correcting bad design decisions- that's the feedback that I got when I shared this on the SE reddit group too. Whatever though, it's your project- just be realistic about what's viable/sensible and what's cheaty...
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 21 Apr, 2019 @ 10:38pm
Btw, small grid programming block can aldo be placed on sides. Again tho, please check model more closely with the mount point overlay.
The only mount point I'm not happy with is small grid advanced rotor, I'll edit the model just a bit for that. Lastly, i believe in choice. With those, people can choose, without those, you can't.
You afraid the suspension of disbelief would be broken or something? I can make a version for you or send you files for your own pick of pleasure.
Thanks for feedback!!! :)
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 21 Apr, 2019 @ 10:38pm
Some edits on some blocks will be made to reflect a change but point is to keep it as vanilla as possible. I don't want to download a cube gyro, this one looks nice. Also it is meant for structural support and there is more then enough surface for welding it onto something. Please check the model more closely and the mount points. If someone wishes to place it on the sides, so be it, who am to tell differently but when i want to replace the underneath block while keeping the gyro where it is by other means is a fix imo. xD
SuicideNeil 21 Apr, 2019 @ 3:59pm
Gyros having mounting points on 5 sides is a little broken- they only have one flat surface to function as a mounting point. Ideally, you would enclose the gyro in a frame in order to create 6 mounting points- a mod for that does exist and is far less cheaty. It seems like much of your mod consists of adding mounting points where they were never intended to just make building easier with fewer armour blocks for support- I would be weary of doing too much of this as the design of the blocks informs their mounting points ( obvious missing or misaligned mounting points are the ones to focus on ). I would say focus on mirroring issues ( keen do fix these, sort of, if they are made aware of them- chances are the original artists left the company and the newer ones don't even realise it's such an issue ), and missing block types- such as half block corners, 2x1 to 1x1 blocks that blend transitions, things like that. Less about personal taste, more about fixing broken functionality...
InertFurry 19 Apr, 2019 @ 12:32pm
Replace the cockpit, remove all the decorative blocks.. A user can make it very, very annoying for anyone who wants to use the community features and feels justified in the belief that people should pay more for Space Engineers. Keen got my money years ago, in deep early access.
No sane individual should be OK with being gently forced into paying more for what they've already paid for, nor should they be OK with being lied to.
You don't have this perspective and are likely holding the "doesn't affect me" apathy that's far too common, since you likely got the DLC moments after its release and had no time without it.
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 19 Apr, 2019 @ 12:25pm
BTW! If some didn't noticed yet, there is now a DLC free version until i can make sure that no errors or other mishaps can come up from using USEP without DLC.
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 19 Apr, 2019 @ 12:24pm
@InertFurry, Can we refrain ourselves going that road?
You never heard of Morrowind...
...or Skyrim. Or Fallout 3...
...or Fallout New Vegas. Or Fallout 4....
...or Vampire the Masquerade? *insert infinitum symbol here* xD

Just enjoy friend. All you have to do is replace the cockpit. Doesn't seem that bad. Also how about more building your self then using others creations. :P
Dan2D3D  [developer] 19 Apr, 2019 @ 12:15pm
Cool :selike:

Don't worry InertFurry , nothing bad here, just friendly advice.
InertFurry 19 Apr, 2019 @ 12:15pm
Is it *really* optional? Really? Take a good look at the blueprints on the workshop and see that pretty much anything made since the DLC came out has been "Requires the Decorative Blocks Pack to use". It's as close to extortion as you can get without it actually being extortion.
Though I'd assume you're 100% OK with shady shit like getting players to do the work that the developers should be doing, like, say, patching bugs.
TwitchingPsycho  [author] 19 Apr, 2019 @ 12:14pm
@Dan2D3D Ok. Just wanted to be 100% sure. xD
Also, of course i meant DLC free as in, free of any edits that would consider the DLC blocks because i don't know how now or in the future the game will handle modded data about a block that is technically missing from the game, one way or another. This is for now the safest possible way to ensure error free compatibility. :)
InertFurry 19 Apr, 2019 @ 12:13pm
Permissiveness usually comes with not automatically assuming the worst. Word order is important in english. A "free dlc" version would imply what you flipped moderation shit over, not a 'dlc free' version, which would otherwise imply something that doesn't include things from the DLC.
