Please note that i have put the DLC's in the requirement section just as a highlight.
The DLC is optional however! You do not need any of the DLC's for this mod to work.
Everything will work as normal if you don't have the DLC.

DESCRIPTION


I was absent due to my PC dying but i'm finally back.
USEP is still in early dev phase but i think many changes are ready.
This was an early project from SE Beta now updated for SE full release.
Not all changes are or will be crossing over, at least not yet. All in due time.

This project attempts to fix issues not resolved by developers by the extent of current
game modding support and as current tools permit as less intrusive as possible and as performance friendly as possible.

So far the most prominent changes are the mount-points.
There's hardly any mods out there that touch those while it's one of the most important aspect to this game.
Ya know, everything revolves around placing blocks on other blocks...
And there is a huge amount of possible changes and imporvements,
some that i still can't believe are not fixed from SE Beta in SE full release.
It's tedious work, even for the developers it seems.
If possible, i'll fix the mirroring as well (small grid atmo-thrusters). It bugs me a lot! xD
Keen was really lazy on quite a bunch of them, like the 5x5 wheel suspensions or landing gears.

Some blocks conversions like small ship merge block and laser antenna to a 1x1x1 variation are added.
Double wheels and some XXL wheels for coolness factor vehicles.
Some are still to be balanced.

SURVIVAL READY

Any modder is very welcome to the team that wants to contribute.
The changes should come natural, intuitive and as vanilla as possible.
Do keep in mind that this mod adds slight blueprint dependency, like most other mods do tho. :)
So if you think you can contribute in any way, with an idea or want to join the project, feel free to contact me.
I am open for all suggestions.
Or you want something to be standalone, just tell me and i'll make a separate mod of a feature. X)

Note, i found some blocks having very similar if not identical to my mods mount-points.
Noticed this when i updated the old USEP from the SE Beta days to the SE full release.

COMPATIBILITY


Of course it conflicts with any mod changing the same block. Those conflicts aren't usually critical.
The only rule is the load order.
USEP doesn't have block functionality dependancy for now so i suggest to put USEP as low in the mod list as possible.
Keep in mind tho that changes wont apply from USEP that way on some blocks but will ensure that a different mod works properly.
Example: USEP changing the Gyro's mount-points and a mod adding a gyro upgrade which also changes the Gyro itself for it to work.
If USEP is above in the load order, then you will get the mount-point but the Gyro upgrade mod might not work. Might even give a fatal error.
If the USEP is under the mod, the mod will work properly but you wont get the mount-points which wont give any errors or conflicts or missing block functionality.

  • If My mod uses another authors work that does not give editing permission by default, You will need to ask listed authors for permission first, after which the continuing conditions apply.

Vanilla SG connectors are instant CTDs upon placing them onto a grid.

this mod seems to break the small grid vanilla connector, trying to place it on a ship while running this crashes the game

At current Using this mod can cause complex multi grid blueprints to spaz out and brake itself
Something this mods changes causes bad physics interactions, or it could due to it being out dated this mod reverts some physics shape change that are in current vanilla

I would recommend Configurable Ore Detector+ since this one allows you to actually set a custom limit to give you exactly what you want and you can change it at any time if you so desire. (A reload of the world is required when changing.)

There are plenty of mods that increase the ore detector to various ranges. There's literally one in the top 5 if you search the workshop for "Ore Detector".
E.g. this mod:

Would you be willing to make and Ore Detector mod? I was hope for something like Small 500m\Large 1000m. I can't seem to find and that work without causing ore to randomly disappear from the HUD or be OP. I know a lot of people would love a working Ore Detector mod.

I found that the icon textures called for the wheels do not exist. WheelSuspension5x5.dds should be WheelSuspension5x5Left.dds, etc.

Reminder, if you notice any block mirroring in vanilla or DLC that are off, please leave a comment so i can add a fix for them. :)
