No problem, it's cool. Yeah the Etruscans in the Grand Campaign use the exact same appearance as their RotR equivalents. Same with the Samnites in the Hannibal at the Gates + Prologue campaigns.
As a last question, do the Etruscans in the Great Campaign have the Etruscan helmet when they have higher ranks? As can be seen in one of the images of the mod, in those of the Raeti?
I didn't want to have the Early Romans mixed in with the GC Romans simply because it doesn't make sense to do so. By the start date of the GC, Roman officers didn't look like they way they used to. If you'd like to make your own submod for AAA that does that, then be my guest, but I won't be doing it. And yes, Romans are Italian, but the game recognises them as two different cultures (Rome = "roman" with subculture as "latin", other Italian factions as "rom_roman" with subculture "italian" or something more specific (e.g. "etruscan" and "samnites" for RotR)).
There's another mod for Roman general appearances for the Grand Campaign, it's called "AAA: Generals - Romans". This mod is specifically for Italians across all campaigns (e.g. Etruscans + Samnites) and other cultures featured in Rise of the Republic that fit its time period (e.g. Early Romans, Early Greeks etc)
Yes, you can - they're designed to work well together. If you enable this one, you will have Italian + Etruscan + Samnite generals in other non-RotR campaigns (e.g. Hannibal at the Gates, Grand Campaign, Prologue etc).
Not sure why that is happening - I fixed the baldness many months ago. Maybe try enabling AAA: Generals - Romans on top of AAA: Generals - Rise of the Republic?
Yes, that will be the next AAA mod I work on. It will cover all Barbarian subcultures (Britons, Iberians, Gauls, Germans, Scythians, Dacians, Thracians, Illyrians).
Merry Christmas + Happy New Year!
@Brian
Once I'm eventually done with Rome II, yes.
Yes, you can. If you enable this mod and play other campaigns which aren't Rise of the Republic, you will see changes to the Italian / Etruscan factions (e.g. "Etruscan League" faction in the "Grand Campaign" + "Hannibal at the Gates", "Samnites" faction in the "Prologue" and "Hannibal at the Gates").
And thank you for this amazing mod as well, it looks really cool!
Hey there - absolutely no problem answering questions, if you have more don't hesitate to ask them.
The Rome version only affects the Roman General character appearances over the pre-patch 18 campaigns (Prologue, Grand Campaign, Imperator Augustus, Caesars in Gaul, Hannibal at the Gates).
This version only affects factions in the Rise of the Republic campaign (e.g. Early Romans, Early Greeks, Etruscans, Iapygians, Venetians, Nuragics etc). However, the changes it makes to the Etruscans, Samnites and Italians can also be seen in the other campaigns that feature them (e.g. Prologue, Grand Campaign, Hannibal at the Gates).
Yes, this mod does work with Dresden's 4TPY mod + season effects mod - only mods that affect shield textures cause weird effects at the moment, but I'm going to fix that soon. It's compatible with most other mods out there as long as it's loaded before those in the load order (overwrites whatever changes the same things below it).
Thanks for this amazing mod, can't wait to play with it!
Rank 1 generals don't have helmets, if that's what you mean. I suggest using "Skidvar's Starting Ranks" when starting a new game so that there's more rank variation at the start.
While I'm working on that though, I am gathering lots of reference materials + wondering what people would like the characters in the next Punic Generals mod to look like. You guys can discuss the upcoming Punic Generals mod here [www.twcenter.net].
• Etruscan (Grand Campaign + Hannibal at the Gates)
• Italian (Prologue)
• Veneti
• Samnite (Prologue + Hannibal at the Gates)
• Nuragic
• Greek
• Iapygian
• Tarantine (Prologue)
• Syracusan
The update will be up in a week or so.
No, the Greeks aren't done yet.
Yes, it is.
