Pickaxes won the vote 56% to 44%, so the matter manipulator's enhanced functionality has been removed and replaced with a crafting recipe for pickaxes! See the description for more info.
Skyfry428 29. des. 2017 kl. 9.11
@fishguts Try the "Optional Story" mod. it allows you to go through the gateway without any fragments, among other things.
Grungler 28. des. 2017 kl. 11.44

i think this is a good mods it helps me get the core fragments but can you also add so we need less core fragments please
:steamhappy:
Wardonkel, Arcane Extraordinaire 28. des. 2017 kl. 9.55
Bribing others is against steam policy (I think). I suggest you make a post in the bug reports.
Haru 28. des. 2017 kl. 9.51
no i dont have this mod,i have admin on and turned it off,doesnt work ;-;
tell me and i will install mod
circlejourney  [skaper] 28. des. 2017 kl. 9.23
@zombie killing machine, are you certain the problem is caused by this mod? I was able to fly between planets just fine with the mod installed.

I don't know if this is your first time playing, but have you completed the Erchius Mining Facility quest? You don't generally need erchius fuel to fly to other planets orbiting the same star. Also, the interface can be a little unintuitive, but to travel to a planet you need to right-click on it in the navigation console screen.
Haru 28. des. 2017 kl. 9.00
i have fuel for the ship but cant move to another planet

Yo, I really appreciate you making a poll Lileats, I'll copy the link to a new discussion post (thanks for the idea blue)
Wardonkel, Arcane Extraordinaire 28. des. 2017 kl. 7.09
https://strawpoll.com/rkrk83re I made this poll to (hopefully) settle this question. I suggest everyone vote
BeanSlinger419 28. des. 2017 kl. 6.02
@Circle
why not make a discussion bout a vote and make a link to a voting site
circlejourney  [skaper] 27. des. 2017 kl. 23.26
I'm glad you guys are finding this useful 👌 I'd take a vote if I could, but I've been thinking of replacing the matter manipulator boost with a stone pickaxe crafting recipe and I'm still 50/50 on that
NateMiki 27. des. 2017 kl. 23.08
need to consider this for later characters
Xeredek 27. des. 2017 kl. 21.33
This is wonderful. I doubt I'll ever uninstall it :D

@Black Puppet chill out mang. This is a game where you can essentially hand build tech we can't even dream of today if you happen to have the materials. I love RP, but ya got to keep in mind the game in question. There really isn't a good reason why your character can work up to building crazy space age armour, weapons, workbenches, and EEPs- but not a flintlock pistol. :/
BeanSlinger419 27. des. 2017 kl. 17.00
the universal uncrafter cant be made when you start sadly
The Daily Herp 27. des. 2017 kl. 13.55
volatile powder can already be made from flares in another mod - the universal uncrafter
Toast 27. des. 2017 kl. 10.10
Again, thanks for the mod. Let the roleplayers and lore enthusiasts go elsewhere...seems like a lot of criticism for something so inane
circlejourney  [skaper] 26. des. 2017 kl. 19.50
@Blac Puppet and Kaytavo, what kaytavo says is what I thought--considering you can craft a mini fridge at a workbench without a blueprint, I assume that the tables/possibly blueprints on the ship computer automatically "give" you the knowledge of how to craft some technologically complex items. Maybe guns were not among those objects in the vanilla game, but there's nothing saying it wouldn't make sense for them to have that knowledge archived somewhere (apex/human NPCs clearly use guns as well so I don't see why not).

@Black Puppet, you do have a point and are mostly correct even with the technical skill to assemble a gun it would be hard tomake the parts from scratch, with out any blueprints that is. If some one wants to know how to build something like say an engine they would look up the information to do so, and in modern times i could use the internet on my phone for that so a more advanced people would most likly have some way to look up info. it wouldn't be to farfetched to assume the ship AI has some sort of information tlike that archived even if they are not connected to any data.base
Toast 26. des. 2017 kl. 15.14
Thanks for this! Just getting back into the game and this helps
Ω Skyrim Spriggan Ω 26. des. 2017 kl. 14.03
@circlejourney
one of the first ever mods i ever made was turning 4 pieces of cobblestone into a rock that a player could mine with. it was much weaker than the copperpickaxe.
I made it during the nightly builds leading up to start 1.0 when we didn't even spawn with a mattertool.
Vi-El 26. des. 2017 kl. 10.52
Yea but then you also have to consider that they are in fact technologically advanced. They got laser weapons, the most advanced races. And the others, apart from Novakids dont even use guns. The only ones able to even still understand Blackpowder mechanics would be the Novakid.

Sure, the Humans can technically do it but think of yourself for a minute, in an age where we create guns in factories. The best I can build myself is a slingshot. I may be able to build a "gun" but that would most likely just explode in my face. They are so advanced that they probably dont even know how to build such a gun. It would be a makeshift gun like in Fallout 4 if anything. Like that grass gun and that would, realisticly, just blow up in their faces if they dont know how to build it properly.

And no, if anything keep the gun. A blow"gun" would not only be a boring weapon but it would also be barely used by anyone. Thinking of Terraria here. Who would use it? Extreme RP oriented players.
circlejourney  [skaper] 26. des. 2017 kl. 10.37
I might go with the pickaxe solution, maybe a fairly simple recipe for crafting weak pickaxes? I'm not sure if that would be too much, but hopefully they'll be weak enough that they become next to useless once the player has one or two upgrades.

@Black Puppet I get you, having a range of race-specific custom weapons could be interesting. But ultimately, I think it's fairly plausible that any sufficiently intelligent being would be able to jury rig a very simple gun or similar range weapon from materials, considering the technological level of each race. That was the original idea with the wood gun. Perhaps I could change this to something even more technologically simple, like a blowgun?
Wardonkel, Arcane Extraordinaire 26. des. 2017 kl. 9.44
Or have you start with a pickaxe ;)
Ω Skyrim Spriggan Ω 26. des. 2017 kl. 9.26
as for making it work with FU the only thing i think i can see that might cause an issue is that awesome 50% more powerful Matter tool.
.
A compmise might be to simply add some update modules into the locker.
just a little thought.
I mean i was so sick of having to grind planet after planet i made a mod to reduce the cost of it.
just because....i kinda hate being almost forced to play a game slowly for longer.
Vi-El 26. des. 2017 kl. 8.32
@circlejourney
Kinda both. While you do describe it as a made up device, the characters do live in the far future. The only ones who would even have the knowledge and experience to build such items would be the Novakids due to the fact that they are more a western cowbody oriented race.

Or in other words: They usually know how to build firearms as that as well is their starter craftingrecipe. Humans and other races however focus on melee. It is weird for humans and Apex but thats just how the game has done it. Id say that even the humans could make use of items to create this but the Apex?

Apex are basically modeled after the "Planet of the Apes" Apes, who more use the weaponry they find over making it themself.

Id say, leave both in but make it an item for specific races. That way you could also add other items for the others. Gives a bit more variety and a reason to play a different race.

Sup guys, feel free to check out my new mod, Better Chairs, which makes chairs slightly more useful:

circlejourney  [skaper] 26. des. 2017 kl. 6.33
@Miklow and everyone else who mentioned core fragment crafting making things too easy, that's definitely a fair point--I've removed that in the latest update. Thank you as always for your feedback!
checkerd 26. des. 2017 kl. 4.02
But other than that, great mod!
checkerd 26. des. 2017 kl. 4.02
With the changes you made here, getting the core fragments should be quick and easy enough already, being able to craft them might make it too easy.
DunningsWarehouse 25. des. 2017 kl. 23.33
I think core fragments shouldn't be craftable, because that would make the intro too easy
Cephalon Sithalo 25. des. 2017 kl. 22.44
tbh made-up devices tend to fit scifi settings lol.
circlejourney  [skaper] 25. des. 2017 kl. 21.30
@Black Puppet and Minmus, the mod does include a flintlock as well though I forgot to update the description, what do you mean by "out of place"? Visually/in terms of realism/something else? I suppose it is kind of a made-up device that doesn't quite fit in the scifi setting, if that's what you mean. I would be able to remove it entirely and leave the flintlock as the sole beginner gun.
Wardonkel, Arcane Extraordinaire 25. des. 2017 kl. 19.20
Yes rup
Rupees 25. des. 2017 kl. 17.08
Is this compatible with mods that add things into your locker? (such as race mods)
CrazyUncleRon 25. des. 2017 kl. 16.52
The idea of this is amazing, making the difficult grindy start of the game much easier for new and veteran starbound players is awsome, thank you for making this mod.
Kajnake 25. des. 2017 kl. 16.23
Does grass gun plant grass?
If not im not interested
I need something more than a half-aimable powder to plant grass back
♫ Tadpole ♫ 25. des. 2017 kl. 14.49
I agree that a grass gun is a little out of place. I think something better would be some sort of jury-rigged gun that barely qualifies as a "gun", like a pipe gun or a flintlock.
