Since several have asked me, I figured, what the hell. This mod's been updated (and I changed the name to "Advanced Bridges," since the vanilla game now offers basic bridges of its own): https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1514984984

welcome back Sir!
Vakaria 12 Sep, 2018 @ 12:00am
@Rainbeau: I'm glad that you are doing well. I appreciate that you are willing to continue supporting your mod(s). It's a lot of work, but yours really are some of the absolute best out there. Best wishes to you!
E_T 11 Sep, 2018 @ 4:11pm
Good for you, I'm glad that things are working out for you now...
DogsRNice 11 Sep, 2018 @ 12:02pm
yeah i would love an update to your fishing mod
Claire Burgdorf  [author] 11 Sep, 2018 @ 11:44am
@Rowan: I'm doing quite well, actually. Biggest change in my life is that my wife and I finally separated back in June. (Long time coming; mostly amicable; I was the primary instigator.) I'm discovering that I quite enjoy living alone with my cats. Even if I *did* stress about the modding, my overall stress level would still probably be lower than it's been in a long time. :)

@Enlonwhite: As I said, I'll take a look at what's in vanilla now, and work from there. (I haven't yet even looked at anything to do with B19.) But I'll likely update "Fishing" as an independent mod, even if I don't do anything more with this one.
Enlonwhite 11 Sep, 2018 @ 11:40am
But your bridges didnt burn.....unless wooden, and they looked better. Plus your fishing mod was better then others i have seen.
ExplorerRowan 11 Sep, 2018 @ 11:39am
@Rainbeau Flambe Excellent. Good to hear you're okay. And don't stress about the modding, it's just a bunch of us nerds on the internet irrationally demanding a product for free. You'll get to it when you get to it.
Claire Burgdorf  [author] 11 Sep, 2018 @ 8:36am
Yeah, I'm OK. Just been having a hell of a time trying to motivate myself to get back to modding. Been away too long, and too busy with other things now. :) I'll take a look at the bridges that are now in the vanilla game soon (maybe this weekend), though, and decide whether or not to update this.
ExplorerRowan 11 Sep, 2018 @ 5:08am
Is Rainbeau okay? I subscribe to several of their mods, and they haven't so much as commented on *any* of them in months. Is anyone able to contact them?
Vakaria 7 Sep, 2018 @ 8:21pm
Would love to have this be integrated with B19 changes, as I feel this is still better than vanilla by far.
Enlonwhite 4 Sep, 2018 @ 1:08am
Yeah Update be Awsome as vanilla bridges are.....bad, just bad as they are. This mods bridges are good, make sense and work for the rimworld life.
Cocomine 1 Sep, 2018 @ 1:17pm
Hope update
Thunder Soul 31 Aug, 2018 @ 6:15am
The new bridges are, uh, weird and inferior.
One, that's a wall holder available by default - a wooden wall holder, which makes about as much sense as a toothpick standing perfectly still while holding a stack of bricks.
Two, it can't be built over deep water, making it somewhat pointless beyond making plots of excessive marshmuds habitable. As such, it's not much of a bridge and more of a heavy shallow water bridge/broadwalk analogue, which makes it feel cheap and cheaty compared to this since it's just 12 wood for a support floor over unbuildables instead of heavy materials.
Malikyte 31 Aug, 2018 @ 2:39am
@Gallonidas
Bridges were added to the base game as of v19.
Gallonidas 29 Aug, 2018 @ 2:22pm
Sir would you mind updating the mod to 0.19? Thanks!
Nicolas Cage 6 Aug, 2018 @ 11:23am
Hey same issue as @pet, am using terra core and would love it if there could be an update to make your bridges compatable with the extra ocean tiles
Shet 2 Aug, 2018 @ 4:50pm
inbetween water*
Shet 2 Aug, 2018 @ 4:49pm
Hey so I'm using the terra core mod and it has an inbetween not shallow or deep and I was wondering if you could put in a patch to allow one of your bridges on the water added by this mod:

bonesbro 31 Jul, 2018 @ 2:35pm
Yes, reporting the same bug as Dropbeard Ninja. If you move a bridge (using a mod like minify everything) the terain left behind remains water (under bridge) and it is impossible to build anything on top of it, including another bridge. The workaround is to use the "Set Terrain" dev tool.
exiledmassacre 16 Jul, 2018 @ 12:07pm
Ore no Kiba - You probably did what I just did thinking it adds a research tab because you couldn't find it but it is right below Electric Cremation in the vanilla research tab.
Ore no Kiba 5 Jul, 2018 @ 1:38pm
So i'm in game on B18 and for some reason no longer have the Heavy bridges that allow construction available. Have those been removed?
Azza35 1 Jul, 2018 @ 1:49pm
so where is the fishinhg mod for b18?
Caar 10 Jun, 2018 @ 9:11pm
Congrats on Tynan confirming he'll adding bridges to Rimworld 1.0. I'm sure he wouldn't have thought about it without the success of this great mod.
Spotter 7 Jun, 2018 @ 1:49am
Does this need the Fishing Industry to work?
InterplanetaryGoat 27 May, 2018 @ 4:03am
Hello, i have a small issue with moving bridges. I assume this may be from using another mod which minimises everything, but if I build a deep water bridge, the terrain underneath goes from "deep water" to "deep water (under bridge)", but if I then reinstall that bridge, the original tile remains '(under bridge)' and I can no longer build on that tile, at all. Cannot build another bridge, of shellfish trap, anything...
kittytoby15 19 May, 2018 @ 4:37pm
could you make this compatible with tiberiumrim? i mean both mods can be used together with no errors its just i cant build bridges over tiberium water or tiberium glaciers though thats understandable. i would think removing the glaciers allowed me to place bridges so their not going through the tiberium infested waters but its not working
Lurmey 15 May, 2018 @ 8:46pm
Hey Rainbeau, there's a new mod out called "Materials+" by a fellow named "Atlas" which adds, among lots of other things, two forms of concrete. I was wondering if you'd consider the possibility of making your mods support Materials+? Like, Basic Bridges using the concrete from Materials+ if it's present, as it does with your own concrete mod.
Firty 15 May, 2018 @ 5:42am
@Rainbeau Flambe I'm developing the Brazilian Portuguese translation of some mods, including this one here. Are you interested in including in your project?
Hazardous 13 May, 2018 @ 7:58pm
do bridges have a huge temperature bleed? my freezer has trouble getting cold with 4 coolers
Hazardous 13 May, 2018 @ 7:56pm
areas over water become roofing zones when bridges are built by them
DrewTuber 6 May, 2018 @ 1:31am
The basic bridge says it can be "built over shallow water, marsh or mud," however I can not place any form of bridges on top of mud patches. Any chance for a fix so I can build stright walls without areas jutting out around mud patches?
BigChungChingus 27 Apr, 2018 @ 9:26am
Trying to put heavy bridges over a body of water, for some reason they refuse to build one of the spaces right near the middle. Its not deep water. Any ideas?
Rhamphoryncus 22 Apr, 2018 @ 12:23am
Why are boardwalks restricted to placing near water? They're quite attractive and I'd like to use them in more places.
Modo 11 Apr, 2018 @ 11:45am
I'm getting null pointer references when some wooden bridges burn down to 0%, but don't get destroyed. Sometimes, they are on fire indefinitely. The Destroy dev tool also throws a null pointer error. Could it be from this mod alone?
Eon 4 Apr, 2018 @ 9:27am
It's looking like glowstone and this mod don't play nice; glowstone can be constructed but ceases to exist once "built". And since the mod author just announced he's quitting mods I was wondering...is there any possibility of you seeing about taking over management of the mod? It'd ensure they play nice together and also it'd be nice to keep the mod up to date going into the future.

Big fan of your mods btw :) Thanks a ton for this one.
tg9 2 Mar, 2018 @ 5:32am
@Erythion, draft the pawn and make him go to a shallow water area.
FractalTurtle 28 Feb, 2018 @ 11:38pm
Immersive and incredibly useful. I couldn't live without this mod now. Thank you Rainbeau Flambe!
I am a Legit Scientist 19 Feb, 2018 @ 11:36am
if you use any miniatyring mods and move the bridges the walking speed effect still stays there.
Tal'Raziid 14 Feb, 2018 @ 5:35pm
@ThePiig
They used to. Raiders are dumb. Now they don't.
Shufflebot 14 Feb, 2018 @ 5:33pm
Just one suggestion--could you pleeeeeeease make the bridges have hitpoints? Pretty please?
me n yer da 14 Feb, 2018 @ 6:06am
boi u a saviour
Tim Stryker 11 Feb, 2018 @ 9:07am
Rainbeau, when are you gonna be done with the update that allows one to magicaly place floors ON TOP OF BRIDGES..? ( ; ... Youve only been asked about it, about a dozen or two, different times over the last few months....... One would assume you must be hard at work at implementing that functionality, during all this time... Yes? ( ; ( ; The games base code doesnt allow for that, you say? ...

NONSENSE,.. Unwillingness to sacrafice countless MOAR hours of your own free time, for the good & benefit of others, out of the kindness & generousity of your own heart, & the inability to rewrite a huge block of the games basic code, in order to satisfy your loyal customers, whom have all given you sooo much in return, is not an excuse...

( ;

Serious Note: One of your next MODs, should be called, something along the lines of - " The Rainbeau Bridge ", maybe like a quick warp or transport MOD, of some sort. ( :
PyreStarite 10 Feb, 2018 @ 8:31pm
Please disable the near water requirement on the board walks. Too many times my door is just out of reach of the sea and I can't outline my base in piers.
Greytusks 8 Feb, 2018 @ 10:56am
Fixed it. Problem was caused by the ResearchPal mod stacking the research item on top of another tech from Cybernetic Storm.
Greytusks 8 Feb, 2018 @ 12:02am
For some reason I can't select the research for heavy bridges. It appears in teh research tab but it cannot be selected or researched. Could it be a mod order problem or maybe a mod conflict with something? It seems teh game as assigne dit as a prerequisite to another mod's research (Cybertech)
Tal'Raziid 6 Feb, 2018 @ 7:22am
@Red705
The Cavern Biomes mod makes Cavern deep water walkable. I’ve already left a comment for that mod about it.
Claire Burgdorf  [author] 6 Feb, 2018 @ 6:40am
@Rex: This mod does not make deep water traversable. I'd assume you have another mod that's doing that.
Rex705 5 Feb, 2018 @ 1:30pm
Should pawns be walking in deep water? They never did before but in my new game they walk across lakes and it's annoying. Whats the point of a bridge if they can just walk across. :(
