Culture Conflation

Update: 1 Jul @ 1:20pm

I learned that there's a way to block a culture from assimilating, so I added that. Now the cultures that should be conflating will not assimilate instead! With this change, I've mostly undone the last set of changes that I made for Imperator Day, haha.

Update: 25 Mar @ 4:13pm

Somebody caught a mistake in the Invictus version and it was true here too. The tooltip telling what is required to take the "Promote Administrators" cultural decision now matches the true requirements again.

Imperator Day update!

I made some changes to the mod. It should partially alleviate a problem where unintegrated pops are both assimilating to primary culture and conflating to an integrated culture in their culture group. I can't stop assimilation, but I can kick pops from primary to the integrated culture so that when the unintegrated one assimilates, the end result is the same as if assimilation didn't happen.

Zamensis, the modder behind Virtual Limes, also did some work reorganizing this mod's files and making some of the script more clear. It won't affect you as a player, but I appreciate the help. Thanks!

Update: 9 Jun, 2021 @ 8:58am

I made the AI somewhat more likely to use the cultural decision that triggers the conflation.

Update: 6 Jun, 2021 @ 2:03pm

I was informed that having the modifier to block conflation expire exactly on the same day that it was being checked for would result in it not firing. So the modifier now expires 50 days earlier. If this information was correct, conflation should now happen every 20 years as intended instead of needing 30 years.

Update: 20 Mar, 2021 @ 7:23pm

This mod will now add the happiness culture modifier for having culture group administrators to any new cultures that you didn't have pops of when you first took the cultural decision. It only does this on the same decade pulse, though. I also made the scripting a little more elegant by not having the event call itself repeatedly and instead looping through every culture within the one event. I have no idea if performance is better or worse this way. I'm a mathematician, not a programmer.

Update: 19 Mar, 2021 @ 5:18pm

There was a problem before where the event would only hit one culture group every time. This resolves that. I did have to change it to only do culture conflation every ten years instead of every five, though, because I couldn't find an on_action pulse that does five years. (I was previously having the event trigger itself at five-year intervals instead of using an on_action pulse at all.)

I made a thumbnail. I did, in fact, take a graphic design course in high school. I retained nothing, especially not any decent image editing software. So I made this in Paint. It looks marginally better than just a blank square, I think.
