Introduction:
This Guide will explain to you why Adam Jensen is truly an inspiring hero is often overlooked by many players
Note: This guide will have spoilers because I will talk about story events why Adam Jensen is inspiring. Perhaps his determination and tenacity are what stood out to me the most. Zhou "Your tenacity Adam Jensen is quite irritating"

Events in the story that show why he is inspiring and a hero
-1) Adam decided to quit SWAT after questionable orders from his boss because they put corporate interest over human interest"
-2) After he gets ambushed by Jared Namir (early on in the game, 3rd boss later), Adam loses his arms and legs. Rather than giving up, he survives the trauma from that accident and is back within 6 months.
-3) He searches all of Detroit, Henshaw and Picus (Montreal) to find out what happened to his girlfriend Megan. Like a detective, he would leave no stone unturned to figure out what really happened
-4) Additionally, Adam survives the brutality of a human concentration camp (missing link DLC). He is pretty much on his own as he has to survive and rescue the innocent prisoners who are being experimented on
-5) During the quest Acquaintances forgotten, We learn that Adam is actually an orphan. His parents actually died trying to save him because he was "Special". What made him "special"? Adam's DNA was perfectly compatible with augmentation technology as he did not experience any organ nor tissue rejection. Nevertheless, he survives childhood without his parents to become a strong and confident man.

While yes...
When you're digging up that Orphan History you also learn he's been augmented above and beyond.
He didn't lose his legs, his arms were broken and burned, and he took a revolver to the skull. Mans should have been dead.
Sarif is heard during the opening, "He's no use to me like this." Adam was suped up, given augments way beyond what was needed to turn him into THE supersoldier.
Honestly, with them taking his legs and arms like that, I'm shocked nobody's whipped up limb transplants from him to turn the rich into compatible. He is the key, after all. Why not use all that extra volume they chopped out just to make him more powerful?

He's not a hero, he's just a typical ideal american soldier cliche. Just as like as Shepard when you play paragon-style.

"he survives childhood without his parents to become a strong and confident man."

Actually he had parents whose last names were Jensen. When his bio parents died he was adopted but I think he didn't know that.
