Description
Trading Post Improvement Mod
I couldn't help but notice how extremely useless flat desert tiles can be for most Civilizations in the game, and then I remembered what made them so tolerable in Civilization V: The trading post improvement.

This mod aims to add Civ 5's base concept of trading posts, while giving it the Civ 6 gimmick of relying on the map generator to get adjacency bonuses.

Information
Unlocked from the Guilds civic.
  • +1 Gold at Base
  • +1 Gold from researching Economics.
  • +1 Gold if adjacent to a river.
  • +1 Gold if adjacent to a luxury resource.
  • +1 Gold if adjacent to a commercial hub.
This mod does not affect the Trading Post buildings obtained from trade routes.

There is no Art
I don't know how the Asset Editor works, so there's no icon for the post or 3D art on the tile yet. This could come in a future update.

I encourage any balance suggestions in the comment section, and any help or links on how to use the Asset Editor would be greatly appreciated.

If you're the suzerain of city state Samarkand this improvement is already inserted in the game. So this is your chance where to find art for your mod.

your mod has been translated into German and the translation is now part of the Civilization VI Mods - German translations mod pack.
We would be more than happy if you could refer to the language translation in your mod description.

Perhaps using an existing improvement model ( such as the camp) could help you fill the model art gap?? Its even better if you can recolor it but just a thought

This is a great mod! The AI uses it too! I understand the hassle of making a graphic plot to it. Can it use an existing plot from the game? Beach resort, Fort or anything would be great! Just something =).

I did something similar to this on my own a while back - I used the beach resort and modified it to be available earlier in the game, not require coastal hex, and have a fixed gold rate rather than based on appeal. That way you get to have a visual art on the tile. (and beach resorts are useless anyways)

Thx for reviving this! Im playing whit australian and 40% is sand xD
