Description
[Requires "Brave New World" DLC]

New civilization "Dark Elves" for fantasy-themed maps. The Queen of Darkness as their leader. This is a science based civ.


Special Traits:

- Embrace Darkness: +2 magic (science) for all specialists and for all Great Person tile improvements. Receive a tech boost each time a scientific building/Wonder is built in the elven capital.

Special Units:

- Dark Wizard: Medieval era unit replacing the Crossbowman. Higher ranged damage (21vs18). Can't melee attack.

- Black Dragon: Renaissance era unit replacing the Cannon. Very strong against cities (+200%). It has a short range attack (fire-breath) and has increased production cost. 3 moves, ignores terrain cost but receives no defensive terrain bonus.

Special Building:

- Arcane Portal: Replaces the University, slightly more expensive to build. In addition to the University's traits ir provides teleportation between cities (airlift) and +1 Culture

The concepts are very nice and the Mod is bug-free however I won the game a few turns after the portal became available so I never got to use it. I suggest starting in a later era so you get to use the portals. A scenario with very restricted land and sea access could really make the Portals shine.

I really like the look of this Civ, however circumstances of my game with it have lead to what i think is a bug with the civ. I went to war with a civ very early on (archers and spearmen) and i found that after attacking them a few times, my units would then refuse to attack anymore. They can move, heal and take their full turn, they just wont attack enemys and move into spots where there are enemy workers. It's a bit innoying but im sure if i went later in the game it would fix it's self out. Please have a look at this because it can make the start of a game very innoying. OTher than that i love the entire civ and all the units. Thanks for the great work!

Love this civ so much! The UU's and UB give a real sense of arcane power to the mid game. One suggestion though (and it's totally cosmetic) - could you change the architecture style from the Native American style to the Asian style? The odd-looking geometric/pyramid structures are too light-colored to really drive home the "Dark Elves" vibe, but the dark walls and curved roofs of the asian buildings would be an awesome fit. Thanks for your hard work! :)
