Description
Sabiroid Docks

At the height of the Europa conflict in 2104, PFS needed a base of operations for their military forces on Europa. However, setting up such bases were not viable due to orbital bombardment early on in the war. After the introduction of the Shrike III resolved this issue, and the arrival of the Phoenix Heavy Fleet in orbit established a defensible corridor for the transfer of supplies onto the moon, PFS was able to establish their base.

The installation was placed on the highest peak within Phoenix territory - a massive crater whose pit was below the typical surface, but whose edges went to the boundary of the atmosphere. This proved to be a perfect location for several reasons:

1) the location was difficult to reach by ground forces
2) the thin atmosphere made it difficult to reach for many aircraft, limiting CEU's ability to raid the base
3) the thin atmosphere allowed lighter, ion powered craft to descend and drop off cargo at the base before returning to orbit.

The base continued as the primary base of operations for PFS throughout the war until late 2105, when supply shortages halted many of its operations, and CEU was able to infiltrate, raid, and take the base. However, by this point in the war both sides had found themselves at a stalemate and exhausted, with Phoenix controlling most of space, but CEU winning on the surface. A treaty was sought shortly after, and the base was returned to PFS control after the war.

FAQ

Why do you call this SABIROID Docks When there are no spiders? - Sabiroid refers to the Sabiroid Frigate

Does this base work in survival? - yes, it is fully conveyored and oxygenated.

Will this base fry my CPU? - Possibly

Why do you have so many windows and so few turrets for a military installation? - turrets are like acne for beautiful architecture, you don't want to see them polluting the beauty you create. Lore also adds in here, in that the facility was deep within Phoenix territory and on the edge of the atmosphere, meaning that it was in large part out of reach of the enemy, therefore defenses were largely unnecessary. CEU's ability to take the facility has to do with intelligence leaks which will be explained in more detail in the next installment of our lore guides.

I can't get this to show up in my Blueprints! - Check the description, this is no blueprint. You'll find this World under "Workshop" on the main menu of Space Engineers. Select it, then hit "Copy & Load"

But why is this not a blueprint? - Due to many parts of this facility being underground, and having required extensive terrain editing, the facility will not look proper anywhere else you paste it, and you can't Blueprint a planet.

Will I need mods? - you may download the mods for this world that I have provided off to the side, but it is NOT NECESSARY to have them. Your Space Engineers game will automatically download the correct mods when you load up this world for the first time.

So, this isn't Vanilla? - Yes, because vanilla does not have the basic furnishings necessary for, you know, actually living somewhere

You can control any ship from a passenger seat so long as it's set up for it. I always put this in my ship descriptions when it matters:
--> to use the craft, sit in a seat, hit K, go to the group labelled "**Control**" and hit "Control"

That's assuming an update hasn't broken everything. If that's the case, then I'm sorry, but I don't see myself returning to SE at any point in the foreseeable future. I would recommend checking out Starship EVO as it's a smoother game with much more creative potential.

But still, really cool!

Can you make an updated version of this? I tried to connect the Threshers, just didn't work. And docking the Sabiroids is not easy, especially considering you can't control them with passenger seats.
