Description

When Hyperion Systems produced their Artemis carrier, they publicly declared a rivalry of sorts between HS and Phoenix Fleet Systems. Not wanting to back down from a challenge, PFS quickly began thinking of its own response to this new ship.

Although original ideas centered on PFS providing its own carrier for the conflict, many within the corporation itself disagreed with this measure, saying that it was time for the war to end. Phoenix had established an effective blockade in space over key areas using ships like the Kestrel, the armor and firepower of which CEU could not match. However, CEU had managed to rule the atmosphere below. PFS needed a way to bring ships with the "Kestrel Philosophy" to the atmosphere, to act as guardians of Phoenix facilities from all that CEU could throw at them.

PFS quickly set about bringing together all the engineers who had worked on the Kestrel Dreadnought, even bringing one or two out of retirement in the process for one final ship. The result of this team was the Carnifex - a ship that could possess as much armor and firepower as was feasible in a high gravity environment. Although slow and cumbersome, the Carnifex followed the same principles of the Kestrel - it would be a tank, soaking up all the damage for other ships and facilities, so they could have a chance to do their own damage, not to mention the retaliation capabilities of the Carnifex itself.

As Carnifexes were deployed alongside Sabiroids across Europa, many parts of the conflict soon slowed down to stalemates. PFS fully expected CEU to begin their own answer to this, but at the same time many others in Phoenix began calling for peace and an end to all hostilities...

Performance Notes
The ship can handle the polar regions of earth (thin atmosphere, 1G gravity), but it obviously performs better in more favorable conditions. It is very slow due to its weight, but i recommend pitching the ship up to stop, down to go forward, and banking to fly to the side rather than relying on the respective thrusters for each. You can also turn off the reverse thrusters to keep cruising forward.

There is a gravitational stabilization system which will help to auto-level the ship and keep it from pitching or rolling too hard. You can toggle it off, if you wish.

That's a shame, love your work tho. Escpecially the Orthrus Cruiser, your should make more battlecruisers.

as you say, factional issues. the ship is old and therefore multiple patches mean they dont work like they used to, or become prone to glitches of that sort.

Yeah, my bad didn't reallly explore the ship, but the guns don't fire and they don't belong to me or any faction. When I messed with them and assigned a random faction they worked, do you know what happened?

you have to use the control seats in the CIC, otherwise you'll need to manually load the tabs in the flight seat or elsewhere

check the user manual section above concerning turret controls

Could the issue be caused by an update?

Also, are the gatling/missile turrets auto or manual?

For some reason, the hotbar is empty when I pilot the ship. Any fixes?
