Description
The Mk 2 Retriever is a medium sized mining ship designed to be a fast, reliable and unexpensive vessel, focusing on the crucial features and reduced equipment to keep it's weight and block count to the minimum, while maximizing it's speed and agility. It's lighter, low maintenance cost chassis still houses a complete mining kit, with ejectors and a connector for full compatibility.
No mods used, buildable with a projector, survival ready.

Hey there, not all, this BP is indeed quite old, and I dare to say I was not very experience by the time, so its nice to see it getting updated.

Hope you don't mind but I dusted this old blueprint off as it looks so good! I did make a few changes as I felt the reactors were too exposed and I like to have at least a little battery capability. Two additional medium cargo and two batteries. Let me know if you would prefer I take it off the workshop.

I intentionally left the spot in front of the cockpit in favor of visibility, I had a drill there but it was horrible to navigate unless viewing from outside. Upon going 'deep' mining with it i realized what you meant, and while this ship wasnt really designed for that, just for diving in/out within a 30 degree angle or so (mostly due to the game's current bugs) cause it certainly would get stuck or have drills exploding if going too deep.

About ejectors, I just find them more versatile, but they require that you station / large ship have some collectors, so the ores are 'sucked' by them. This shouldnt be a problem even on multiplayer because only 9 ores should be floating for a second and then they are collected.
Assuming that the server has a 50 floating objects limit, once 50 ores are floating and 1 more spawns, the oldest "alive" gets the deleted, so unless the server's max floating object limit is 8 or less, no problems!

Appreciate the feedback ! may fix those on Mk3!

saw you posted this in a thread so i check it out. Iike the design but if you dont mind i will offer my $.02.
-Another drill is needed in front of the cockpit if a player wants to go into the roid when drilling. Else some rock that was not grinded will hit the cockpit and top of ship
-Ejectors vs Connector. I am not 100% how this works but...there is a server setting called max floating objects. A lot of admins, like myself, have this this to a low setting for performance. i ASSUME that when you are ejecting ore from miner that is considered to be "floating objects" and therefore could be delete by the game.....OR maybe the server only deletes objects when the server is cycled?

LIke i said. good design. LOve the lights. i am scared of the dark
