Description
The overall purpose and role of this station is not unlike that of a silo in an agricultural operation. Mining and salvage vessels are costly and represent a significant capital investment. So, any venture which operates vessels like these do what they can to keep them working as much as possible. These stations act like a buffer between the mining and salvage vessels and the long distance haulers which bring materials to large scale processing stations. Through the use of such stations, neither the hauler nor the mining or salvage ship needs to wait for the other to continue in their primary function.

Specifications:

•Power: 6 photovoltaic panels supported by 6 batteries and 1 small reactor
•Storage: 6 Large Cargo Containers (these stations often contain valuable ore or salvaged materials)
•Communications: 1 Beacon and 1 Antenna
•Weapons systems: 3 Gatling Turret
•Perhaps there are other defenses? **other defenses = sensor triggered self destruct**

@[38NC.K] Cpl. John That's likely because your ship or the station was either unowned by you or the factions did not match, causing the station's security systems to retaliate, which involves self destruction. Watch the video he provided for more information.

I docked the mining barge and the entire connector and area exploded, destroying my barge.

Well its annoying as (INSERT SWEAR WORD HERE) so its best to get rid of it to improve the experience. or at least make a separate version without the trap

You can deactivate (or change the settings for) the enemy detection sensor by accessing the station’s systems via the lower Gatling turret without it exploding. I meant this as a possible entry to be added to the game’s exploration mode so the idea was that it was a trap. I’m glad it is working for you!

nevermind it worked the second time i tried it but it appears to explode when i get near it
i think you may have set it to a faction making the station un-usable in creative

I’m sorry to hear there is an issue, but I don’t think it is with the blueprint. You’re the first to say anything about it crashing a game (it doesn’t use mods so it certainly shouldn’t), and I just pasted a new one in a new world without issue.

I liked the very simple, nothing-fancy design of this station. All too often too many builds are just too big and convolulted, and its refreshing to find a simple, practical design!
