Description
Brutal Battles 3, like it's predecessor, improves the look, feel and realistic expectation of battles. Expect heavy losses in every battle. Spearmen, Halberds and the like devastate Cavalry charges from the front, while infantry also take meaningful casualties. Charging units are fierce, more contact happens and surrounded units quickly meet their maker. Magic, artillery and projectiles annihilate tightly packed units and should be dealt with swiftly.

What it Does
  • Units are closer together and organized. (unit spacing)
  • Non-Lord/Hero Infantry and Cavalry have smaller hit boxes. (battle entities)
  • Cavalry charges are more effective. (kv rules)
  • Bracing is less effective. (kv rules)
  • Armor RNG removed, 100 Armor = 100% Damage Reduction. (kv rules)
  • Charge reflection is very effective. (kv rules)
  • Charging is more effective. (kv rules)
  • Charge Bonus lasts 20 seconds instead of 13. (kv rules)
  • Changes the icon under selected units to a circle instead of an arrow. (.dds file overwrites)

Where should this mod be placed in the load order? First, last, or somewhere in the middle?

I understand, but i do feel they single entities are lacking some knockback power, specifically HE dragons.

Don’t need a damage increase necessarily, but large knockback would be nice

Yes, it's an aftereffect of the changes, "surrounded units quickly meet their maker". Smaller hit boxes allows more units to make contact and more easily surround large single entity opponents which allows them to deal more damage than vanilla. They will need support and shouldn't be left alone to get surrounded. On the other end, large entities should be able to squeeze through units more easily. I'm still contemplating on making mass changes for cavalry and large entities.
