Ifrit (30mm)

Description
CSAT Ifrit with a powerful turret. 2 versions, regular CSAT and CSAT Tropic.

The vehicle is a composition. Basically, AFV-4 Gorgon turret on top of Ifrit.

The Ifrit with this armament should be used as a reconnaissance + hit & run vehicle. Nothing more. In mind, something like a French made Jaguar armored car, but with less armor.

Main armament:
1x CTWS Cannon 30mm
4x Titan Missile ATGM
1x Coaxial MG 7.62mm
4x Smoke Screen (x2 Commander seat on Gorgon, x2 Driver seat on Ifrit)

Extras:
All doors animated - you can use the action menu (interaction menu) to open & close each and every door on the Ifrit itself. Yes, there's a bit of scrolling on the action menu, but what can you do? :)

Some details (issues/fixes):
- The AFV-4 Gorgon turret only has 2 seats available, gunner and commander. Driver, cargo (passengers) and inventory is locked. As for the Ifrit itself, everything remains as it is.
- Unfortunately, in order to access the driver seat of the Ifrit from gunner or commander from inside the AFV-4 Gorgon, you need to get out of the vehicle and enter the Ifrit driver seat. Trust me when I say, I've tried all I can to somehow reconfigure using the init field, but no success. Perhaps in future updates, if I find the solution, I will fix it.
- The camera of the AFV-4 Gorgon is prone to shaking when Ifrit is steering in any direction. There used to be much more shaking when the vehicle itself was moving but this was removed with update v1.02. Camera shake is still there, but greately reduced.
- Visual bugs are basically the mirrors and the hatch interior of the driver seat from Gorgon, simply no way to hide those things. Less than half of the view is covered when driving Ifrit because of that hatch interior.

^The guides above are very useful and helped me a lot in understanding how it works. Great job!

Feel free to use codes from my compositions to make your own things! Get creative!

The ideas are here, I just need time to implement them.

More compositions coming soon.

@Полста Первый (51) - Makes sense, but too much work around trying to make it work. Too many factors to take into account and it just simply cannot work out with the Angara 30mm commander turret.
Very good mode that extend vanilla arma, but wouldn't it be more logical use canon from command version of T-140 Angara?

I'd love to see other vehicles like this, good work!

@PineCone227 - I fully understand and share the same PoV as you.

I just wish more could be done in this situation. :/

But if BI won't step in (and you know the answer to it already), nothing will change.

It's also not that surprising there's not a lot of from-scratch content made, as the wikis on A3 vehicle implementation just make it look like hell. Usually this stuff releases as part of large faction packs (FFAA, ArmaModFrance, RHS, BWMod, so on) with huge dev teams, and nobody wants a 30 gb dependency for 1 vehicle they wish to include in a vanilla-setting scenario.

Sorry for the rambling, I just felt like sharing my gripes with the game to someone who'll understand :v

Experimented around with trying to get the mirrors hidden better - rotating the AFV-4 180 deg so the turret faces rearwards does make them ever so slightly less of an eyesore, but in turn worsens the hitbox issue. Not sure if it's worth the tradeoff.

I wish BI would open up a bit and let modders make edits to vanilla vehicles. All we get on the workshop is the same rehashes of Arma 2 mods with very little original content(but CDLC creators can do it, because money. No offence to Rotators Collective who do a great job of it). If not, even adding classes for standalone vehicle turrets or commands that allow the disabling of collisions of parts of the geometry(alongside better texture areas so things like tracks and misc elements can be hidden) would do a great service to this sort of kitbashing. There isn't even a toggle for vehicles to fire while upside-down, meaning no attaching extra weapons to aircraft.
The Nyx might be the best thing that's happened to this scene, lol.

@PineCone227 - Indeed it does, regarding the hitbox. But AFAIK from testing, only the backside on Ifrit is covered by Gorgon. The front (larger part) and the sides are covered by Ifrit, so shooting the vehicle basically means shooting Ifrit. From the back... Ehh... Use a missile. :D

Interestingly enough, that same invisible Gorgon hitbox protects the Ifrit crew, even with opened Ifrit doors. You can't kill them that easily.

As for the code, feel free to use it man. It is available to anyone. It's part of Arma. I'm not entitled to keep the code for myself. Arma needs variety of existing vehicles which can prove to be useful and provide more content to already lacking vanilla content.

Wait - the Gorgon's hitbox is far larger than Ifrit's - does this not create issues when shooting at the Ifrit(as in, rounds blocked by the invisible Gorgon)

I create vehicles like this too, so hope you don't mind if I steal the get inspired by idea later down the line if it turns out to work well

Also great idea with the openable doors - should add that to my own custom Ifrit configs

@Toast - I'd like to turn it into a mod, but rather make it like a package of multiple vehicles, instead of making individual packages.
