Description

Collection of mods to enhance the graphics and audio of Left 4 Dead 2, as well as several tweaks and difficulty adjustments for local hosts while staying somewhat faithful to the core gameplay, primarily for co-op and realism modes.

The collection is a work in progress. More mods will be added as they are discovered, tried, tested, and developed.

Tested on an 11th Gen Intel Core i3-1115G4, integrated GPU, 16GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM, on highest settings (with 2x MSAA and 4x anisotropic filtering) mostly above 40fps at 1080p.

➤ It is safe to "subscribe to all" as all mods work together. Any flagged conflicts will not be an issue and the message will be resolved in future.

After installation it is important to run the "snd_rebuildaudiocache" command in the in-game console. It will take a few minutes and will let you know when it is complete. Type "quit" and re-launch the game.

The L4D1 Font will need additional configuration to work. While the collection will work without it, it's recommend to have it enabled. Use the guide here and follow the "gameinfo" section.

If using the fix to resolve the "dark bug", make sure to uncheck "read only" from the video.txt file properties before proceeding onto the next step regarding shader details. Re-apply the fix for the dark bug after completing the next step. Use this guide here for more info.

Due to a bug with L4D2, setting shader details to high or highest may cause the game to crash. To resolve this, go to the game in your library, right click and select "properties". Paste the following into the launch options and launch the game, adjusting settings as desired:
-force_vendor_id 0x10DE -force_device_id 0x0191
