Mortal ODSTs

Description
Have you ever wanted to play as a mere mortal on the streets of Mombasa, rather than a slightly shorter Spartan?

This mod does not aim to make any changes to the weapon sandbox itself—these are the same weapons from Halo 3 and original ODST, just wielded by a skilled but ultimately normal human.

TIPS
- Take cover! If you're out in the open too long, you WILL be singled out and killed.
- If trying to clear an obstacle, jump and crouch while you're in the air.
- Your SMG and pistol are much harder for Covenant forces to hear! Stay hidden and keep your distance.

CHANGES
Decreased player height
Slower movement, especially when carrying turrets and other large weapons
Lower jump height
Increased impact and fall damage
Lower health and stamina (shields)
Decreased player melee damage
When reloading weapons with magazines, excess ammo remaining in the magazine is lost.
Increased the size of ALL weapons in the first-person viewport so that they look as big as they should to a regular human

Installation Instructions
Due to a bug in the MCC's mod tools, the campaign will not function if played normally. To fix this, do the following.
1. Subscribe to the mod via the Workshop page
2. Go to your ODST install. This can be done by right-clicking the Master Chief Collection in your library, then selecting Manage > Browse Local Files.
3. Once open in your file explorer, navigate to halo3odst\maps. Back up these files by selecting all .map files and copy them into a new, easy to find folder (this is a backup, to allow quickly fixing the game if anything goes wrong).
4. Go to your Steam install folder (the MCC files are in this folder; from the navigation bar, click on "steamapps" to get there quickly). Then navigate to steamapps —> workshop —> content —> 976730 —> 3143145630. The path should look like:
- steamapps\workshop\content\976730\3143145630\maps -
(If you're concerned about being in the right folder, it will contain 11 .maps files, all named with a 3-digit number preceded by "c", "h", "l", or "sc".)

5. Copy all .map files in this folder and paste them into the earlier halo3odst\maps folder. Overwrite the existing files when prompted.
6. To play the mod, launch the game with EAC disabled and select the "built in" ODST campaign. Do not use the "Quick Start" option (this might load the default settings instead of the modded ones).

KNOWN ISSUES
Certain large weapons have slightly broken reload animations
The campaign breaks due to a bug in Mombasa Streets that cannot be fixed until MCC mod tools are patched. This is addressed by following the install instructions (above).

Ok, so after having done a few trail and errors, the install is easy, the game seems balanced for Legendary, so keep that in mind, as on lower difficulties you seem to get a significant health buff. Could be a bug? But honestly, I've always been disappointed that they didn't do this as standard for ODST, it feels so much better this way. In my opinion, this is what ODST should have always been, thank you. I'll change this if I need to mention any bugs or anything like that, that end up being game breaking, but I really like this so far.

gotta respect for the install instructions telling people where to go exactly to make the game run good. maybe thats the fault of new modders not knowing more on how to fix it themselves idk,,

I would think it was worth it to do all this if u got to play as a civilian with a gun but playing the same character just in a more realistic way isn’t worth it
