Firefight Descent

Description
Welcome to Firefight Descent!

Firefight Descent is not your average firefight. With a focus on cinematic vibes and player interaction, this map takes cues from many of the things that made past firefights great.

The year is 2552. Delta Halo has recently been discovered by the crew members of the In Amber Clad. You are a new breed of Helljumper. Specially trained for extended combat, and wearing armor fitted with technology not unlike that of the legendary SPARTAN soldiers, you are ready to take more punishment than most marines could ever imagine. Today, you have learned that Covenant forces are taking interest in a mysterious structure roughly 3000 km from the nearest UNSC stronghold location. Your mission is to go in and eliminate as many of their forces as possible to pave the way for a full assault. You have waited a long time for this opportunity. The time has come to perform your duty. Prepare to descend into hell, Fight unstoppable forces tucked away over the wastelands of Delta Halo.

Descent breaks away from the usual perceptions of firefight. The map makes use of infinite play, game-changing decisions, and cutscenes to give a new and fresh experience. It is also the first firefight map for Halo Custom Edition to use a bsp (or level geometry) specifically made for the purpose of firefight.

After a lot of requests, Firefight Descent has been finally ported and revisited for MCC, the map includes full coop support with coop cutscenes, rallypoints, new easter eggs, 17 new weapons and other addons.

prolly one of my favorite firefight maps i played in custom edition on some cruddy laptop that couldn't even run gzdoom, glad you ported it to mcc, i have alot of nostalgia from cold winter nights and a few busrides where i went through the effort of dragging the laptop, controller, and headset with me, sure the framerate was abysmal when waves were more populated on that laptop, but it no doubt permanently impacted me back then (i still listen to the sonic delirium remix of in amber clad with that chill feeling of wonder off and on to this day)

@captain gimmick I am aware of this problem, I tried to solve it but without good results...
in coop it doesn't happen... it's only present in sp mode

Not sure if this is a inherent engine quirk (I have noticed it in other CE based mods), but when the player dies, their weapons are deleted. This is a issue for many reasons, especially in a game where access to specific weapons are based upon random chance, but is exasperated by the "fun" waves that occur immediately after a power weapon is dropped.

Losing the gun you found to random deaths is bad enough, but it is worse to be unable to actually use the reward for a wave because fuel rod grunts blow you away before you even get to the next round.
