This modification is a work of fiction, and is loosely based on real world history. The groups, characters, places, names and events in this modification are fictional.

Cold War - Argana is a project focusing on the nation of Argana from the 1970s to the 1990s, and takes numerous creative liberties in an attempt to flesh out the small West African nation at the height of the Cold War. At this time, Cold War - Argana focuses on the brewing conflict between the Arganan National Army and the Tura Insurgency. This modification uses the Global Mobilization CDLC from Vertexmacht and the Western Sahara CDLC from the Rotators Collective. Both are essential to Cold War - Argana, and I am immensely appreciative for the fantastic work they have done.

Factions

Arganan National Army - 1970s-90s [BLUFOR]
As a former French colony the fledgling state of Argana has struggled to shed its colonial roots. Poverty and unemployment grip the countries poorer regions, and corruption is rife in local government institutions. More worryingly, there have been rumours of growing discontent within the ranks of the Arganan National Army; and talk of a coup is abound. Despite this, the country continues to receive material aid from both NATO and the Warsaw Pact, courting both major alliances as it seeks to maintain its hard won independence.

Sefrawi People's Liberation Army - 1970s-90s [OPFOR]
Long marginalised by the French colonial authorities and the subsequent Arganan government, the militant Sefrawi People's Liberation Army was established by Abdelkader Sidi Basir in the early 1970s with the aim of protecting ethnic Sefrawi rights and establishing an independent state. Locked in a bitter struggle against the Arganan National Army, the SPLA has received moderate material support and training from Algeria and Libya, as well as the Warsaw Pact.

Tura Insurgency - 1970s-90s [INDEP]
A nomadic people of caravan raiders, the Tura are one of the many tribes to call the Sefrawi Desert their home. Having previously clashed with the French colonial authorities during their occupation of the region the Tura have continued their insurgency against the fledgling Arganan state. The Tura are poorly armed, and rely on a black market of smuggled firearms from Algeria - old Second World War armaments can be found within their arsenal, as well as the occasional captured French or American weapon.

1. Are there good singleplayer missions or mission generators that are able to use these factions? There is Dynamic Recon Ops, of course, but maybe something else?
2. Also looking for the same for Joe's "Heart of Darkness" mod.
3. There is a Cold War template out there for Sefrou Ramal that removes all the wind turbines, solar panels etc. but how do I use it?

Ammunition change has been applied - should be all good now. Let me know if there's still any issues. \o

@Joe : With the ammunition you've selected I wouldn't give the gunners more than 500rnds all in, so the belt on the gun + four in the pack, those boxes are modelled as being quite heavy. That's about half of the load they currently have.

Imagine if there was a Cold War Argana Police Force

With the machine gunners, how many magazines would you say at an absolute maximum? I can tweak the values down this weekend.

Good stuff here man; echoing the sentiment regarding machinegunners being over-encumbered and this breaking formations and AI handling of the troops. The medics seem to have two medikits in their packs alongside the ten IFAKs also?

Joe you are my MVP

Back at it with another great mod. I'd love to see a south-east asian mod with your style to feed my addiction to jungle warfare using SOG assets sometime in the future.

@Joe Even with the base 1990s German content I think some cool stuff could be done with this mod, personally I hope GM adds a Leo 2 and a T-72 in the next update...
