Skins Evolved

Description
Mod ID = 2992190197

Clean, Stackable, no changes to base game assets. Can be placed anywhere in the load order.
Alpha: things are still being added, some things may change, including some stats that may change for ballance reasons.

Skins evolved is Lore friendly and primarily ballanced for PvE and RP.




Features:

Mirror (skins workbench) unlockable at level 3, costs 3 engram points

All vanilla armor added as skins, and all vanilla armor skins have variations, eg: with or without pouldrons, shorts, etc.
Expect some clipping when combining items that were never meant to be combined.
Various Mesh and apparel related optimisations and QoL.

(If you're using this mod for the first time on an existing save - you'll need to place a mirror once or respawn once for changes to take effect)

Skin + Tek compatibility:
Update 1.1 and 1.2 introduce full skin/Tek compatibility. ALL skins now work on Tek armor and Gen2 Tek armor
This includes all vanilla skins and costumes. Skins from other mods should also work on Tek armor and Gen2 Tek armor.

Persistent "hide hat" feature.
When using the "Hide hat" emote SE will remember your choice when transferring servers, finishing boss battles, dying etc

Tek:
All Tek armor is now radiation proof and is interchangeable with all hazardsuit armor and skins.

Stats:
All SE skins impart armor, weight, hyperthermal and hypothermal stats like their armor counterparts and require the same resources to make and repair.
All SE skins impart buffs like their armor counterparts, eg: scuba shirt skin allows breathing underwater, hazardsuit skins grant antiradiation buff, etc.
All SE skins show armor values on their icon

Armor & Underarmor:
All SE skins have an armor version too for more customisation options (also available in the mirror workbench)
Some SE skins have a shield symbol on their icon, these are "Underarmor" variations which show the armor underneath.

Devices:
Custom "ProtoTek" jetpack (Runs on gasoline) - equipped in the offhand slot. (cannot be equipped with a tek shirt)
Standalone Tek jetpack and Gen2 jetpack - equipped in the offhand slot. (cannot be equipped with a tek shirt)
Standalone scuba breather and scuba tank - equipped in the offhand slot.
Gasmasks and Nightvision goggles (equipped in the offhand slot or equipped as skin in the head slot)

INI Settings
Change jetpack fuel rates
Disable skin stats and buffs
Disable tek and jetpacks for primative players
Disable Prototek jetpack while underwater

Alternative equipping and customisation system
Element corruption for players and dinos
Smart hats/headgear that shows your hair underneath
Weapons on back when (Q) unequipped
Weapon customisation
Character Re-Creation
Dino customisation





Known Bugs and limitations:

If for some reason Tek armor can't be skinned, try placing a mirror or respawning. (This will probably never happen)

Underarmor versions of skins temporarily pass their dye colors onto the armor underneath while equipped (There may be no workaround for this)




Coming soon to ASA:
I'm currently working on porting/converting this mod to ASA
As such work will be paused on Skins Evolved ASE untill the ASA version is up and running. Please keep any feedback and suggestions coming.

the proto jetpack seems to be moving the courser into the center of the screen for some reason. cant really pin down what's triggering it other than maybe opening menus too fast? still messing with it but yea.

The test mod is on CursedForge now yeh - it's not in a working public release state yet though. It turns out that WildCard changed the way armor and clothes morph to match the body mesh, and that system is quite the mystery and causing issues for lots of modder's looking to make skins. Stay tuned, I'm sure we'll find a solution soon.
