SM Hero: Damocles Command Rhino

Description
There is a faction in Warhammer that I really like. Can you guess what it is?


Damocles Command Rhino is a new hero unit locked under "PREDATOR" upgrade (Not razorback, but predator. Reason down below). This unit specializes in battlefield support and calldown of ground assets from orbit. Although it isn't uber tanky, nor does it boast damage (it only has 1 storm bolter, and 1 hunter killer with hunter killer upgrade :/), it has gamechanging abilities that provides powerful unit buffs, and defensive capability at the cost of influence. I have done my best to make it as awesome of a unit as possible while trying my best to keep it as balanced as possible, but I still think some of it's abilities are too powerful compared to other units in SM arsenal. Again, please see below.

Unit: baseline razorback with only 1 storm bolter, can get dozer blade + HK missile + vehicle armor + smoke with upgrades. Has "Hero" trait. REQUIRES PREDATOR UPGRADE (not razorback)
Req cost: 120, 4 upkeep
Influence cost: 80, 4 upkeep.


Abilities:
Baseline: Calldown Deathstorm Drop Pod (range 12), 10 CD, fortification, consumes movement/action. (Uses Bastion model)
Baseline stat of a fortress of redemption, costs 180 influence, 6 influence upkeep.
Weapons: 5x Assault Cannon.
Trait: Automated Sentry: reduces attacks of unit by 75%.
Trait: Defensive Array: Grants 125% bonus attacks if overwatching (150% total), reduces range by 1 when overwatching.

Upgrade1: Augur Array (Passive)
Increases vision range to 4/5/6, and reveals area.

Upgrade2: Command Uplink (Passive)
Increases the attacks of units by 10% in a 1/2/3 range area.

Upgrade3: Command Authority (Consumes movement, action)
Increases action point of 1 unit, CD of 5/4/3

Ulti: Calldown Hammerfall Bunker (range 12), 10 CD, fortification, consumes movement/action. (Uses fort. of redemption model)
Baseline stat of a fortress of redemption but with ranged accuracy 8, costs 180 influence, 6 influence upkeep.
Weapons: 2xtogglable krak/frag launcher, 8 x Heavy bolter (free action, aka can be fired separate from krak/frag launcher, requires heavy bolter upgrade).
Trait: Automated Sentry: reduces attacks of unit by 75%.
Trait: Defensive Array: Grants 125% bonus attacks if overwatching (150% total), reduces range by 1 when overwatching.

Strategy:
This hero unit is an excellent investment for getting rid of your influence bank should you not wish to spend it on items, or keeping your reclusium busy when you are going for hero-focused build (not recommended in general by almost everyone, but I believe in the "there is no wrong playstyle" philosophy). This unit is more of a force multiplier than other hero in SM arsenal, so again try to add this unit to an already established army/force instead of "beelining" for it. Then again, play how you want.

Vision:
What I hoped to make for SM was a hero unit that could supplement SM's relatively weak unit production ability, vulnerable FoR l8 game, an influence sink (as SM has tons of those l8 game) and gave passive buffs to the battlefield like heroes from other factions. I really like the drop pod mechanic, and fortifications like macro cannon which gives the feeling of "building my sandcastle" vibe- I think this unit can help supplement those weaknesses, but what I am not sure is if this unit is "balanced" compared to other units in SM arsenal (such as macrocannon) and if one levellable ability is objectively better than the other. This was why I made costs as they were, upgrade requirements as they were, etc. Please leave balance suggestions in the forum below, I would really like discussions for it.

Hi, Dorante, unfortunately Ive gotten stuck with some real life stuff, and ive been kinda stuck with coding for the new hero because ive been planning some real ambitious stuff. Im working on it, but no eta for now.

@HungryTGUY Looks intriguing and I will test it right away. Thanks for your unit additions! I had already a look at the files and was wondering, if a scaled down SM Headquarter would be a better placeholder for the Hammerfall Bunker and if it would be possible to use the drop pod mesh for the Deathstorm?
I would also advice you to change the .xml of the producing building into an .xml.ext file and only put your changes in (in this case the trait). As far as I know, this will make your mods much more compatible with other mods, changing this same file.

Also, regarding a more "eco focused" space marine hero with fortress of redemption and all, I got a plan; I'll make a new hero that doesn't just give you fortress of redemption, but hopefully more. I would like to think about balancing it a bit more before adding, but in the meantime check out mods like "Venerable Dreadnought" which has fortress of redemption ulti with 12 turn CD, and another mod that makes that hero unique. Personally, I think its exploitable by make dread, place FoR, disband dread and make new one, so I'll try to make a unique hero that gives a lot of late game strategic benefits while also being a kind of hero which isn't feasible to rush.
