Descriere
Removes apparel restrictions for any and all HAR races automatically. As this is fundamentally against the design of certain races, be warned that unexpected behaviors may result!

Load after any races and race-related mods to prevent restriction patches fighting with mine.

Note that this mod does not remove weapon restrictions. If there's enough interest in an equivalent for that, I could put it together as a separate mod.

Between the scattered race apparel patches and the annoyance of maintaining similar functionality in my APP extension, I felt it was best to publish a more permanent solution.

This is an extremely simple patch, so it's easy to modify. If you don't want to use XML Extensions, you can check out the XML for instructions on how you can exclude a race (or multiple races).

Should be safe to add mid-game, but as with most any mod, it's best not to remove it.

With XML Extensions, this mod adds an optional mod menu that allows you to customize apparel restrictions per-race. You can toggle individual item restrictions as well as each race's ability to use unrestricted apparel. These settings must be enabled to be used. If not enabled, every race will have all restrictions lifted as normal.

Note that XML Extensions support was an experiment. After learning more about XML Extensions, I can't recommend it to users or developers. As of the last time I tested, it has a tendency to obfuscate issues by changing how XML loads. For now, I recommend avoiding XML Extensions unless another mod in your list requires it.

Thanks to Abraxas for help in working out the original patch!

Hello! I bid you a warm welcome to the community, and thank you very much for the kind praise!

I think the mod's numbers are relatively low because HAR apparel restrictions just aren't an issue for the majority of the playerbase. There are only so many HAR users, only so many HAR races that have apparel restrictions, and only so many people that want to remove them in the first place. You could say my mod's audience is limited to a subset of a subset of a subset.

The mod was created as a companion to THIGAPPE , another mod of mine which helps consolidate Asian-style pawn graphic textures. You might enjoy that, too!

Im new to Rimworld, just beginning my modded gameplay for a week, stumble upon the annoying race restrict for outfit, even tho the size are some what the same, feel kinna bullshiz. If this mod truly work as advertise, how can it only 1,4k sub? This take underrated to a whole new lv :sad_seagull:

Hey there, so glad to hear it's been useful to you!

That issue occurs when a race does not have the body parts covered by the piece of apparel being worn. A flaw in the code means the check for coverage is always passed, so they can wear infinite amounts of those items.

I suppose the easiest way to fix this issue is to install XML Extensions, then use the provided settings menu to re-enable restrictions for the mincho. A fix of the underlying problem is out of the scope of this mod, I'm afraid.

Thanks for the great mod, but I have one question: Hey, Mincho started wearing a ton of clothes, how do I fix that?

Hey there, thanks for the report! Indeed, this sounds like a mod conflict as I'm not experiencing the problem myself. I've heard several graphics-related reports tracing back to performance mods lately. I have to imagine they're working on some unstable changes and will need some time to work out potential friction points.

Regarding moyo looking subpar with rabbie outfits, that's likely just expected behavior. By default, THIGAPPE makes its adjustments by assuming apparel textures are drawn for vanilla body textures. It's possible (though time consuming) to make fine-tuned defs [gitlab.com] to support apparel drawn for other body textures, however.

Surprisingly. It was the graphicspatches instead. I'll just have to not use it then. Hope it doesn't impact performance too much
