Description
What is this?
This is a perk pack including a number of perks that have been made for previous proficiency class plugins.
The perks in this pack are made with new template names so they don't overlap and so you don't need to use those class mods just for a few perks.
The pack also includes some new or adapted perks.

This perk pack now includes a forced replacer for the versions of Cloistered Shielding and Minor Kinetic Plating from the Proficiency Combat Engineer v1.91 mod and can now be used to fulfill the dependencies that mod provides to some other class mods.

Included Perks:
Name (InternalName) - Description
  • Cloistered Shielding (RustyCloistaShield) - Projects shields around the soldier and nearby allies. The shields will collapse if this soldier is killed. This is a FREE ACTION that requires the soldier to have 2AP (so must be first action) and has 2 charges and a 5 turn cooldown.
  • Minor Kinetic Plating (MKPMrCloista) - Adds <default: 2> Ablative. Missed shots against this unit increases shielding by <default 2.>.
  • Decoy (Mrc_FreeBeacon) - Grants a Free Mimic Beacon.
  • Blind Fire (SprayMrC) - Fire at the enemy from behind the safety of cover. -10 Aim & -20 Crit penalty, Does Not End Turn. Unit must be In Cover. Primary Weapon.
  • Chamber Round (SingleReloadMrC) - Reload a single round into your primary weapon. This is a FREE ACTION that requires the soldier to have 2AP (so must be first action) and has 2 charges.
  • Mass-Holotargeting (MrC_HoloFO) - Holo-Targets all enemies in visual range, increasing your squad's aim by +5 against this target. Does not gain bonuses from other Holotargeter perks. - Requires a Holotargeter secondary weapon.
  • Pistol Killzone (MrCKillZone) - Take a pistol reaction shot against any enemy that moves or attacks within a cone of fire.
  • Heavy Utility Ordnance (MrCHeavyOrdnance) - A grenade in your utility slot gains 2 bonus uses.
  • Bladeblitz (MrCBladestorm) - a modified version of Bladestorm that defaults to using secondary weapon if not assigned in xcomclassdata.
  • Sword Swing (MrCSwordSlice) - a modified version of Sword Slice that defaults to using secondary weapon if not assigned in xcomclassdata.
  • Extra BIT Heavy Weapon (MrCExtraHeavySA)- Spark BIT Heavy Weapons (req Spark Arsenal) gain an extra charge.
  • Extra Heavy Weapon (MrCExtraHeavy)- Heavy Weapons gain an extra charge.
  • Ammo Pouch (MrCpouchAmmo)-gain an Ammo Slot
  • Grenade Pouch (MrCpouchGrenade)-gain an Grenade Slot

This Perk Pack also includes:
Travel Light (weapon cat: travellight)- Secondary 'Weapon' which acts as an empty weapon slot that grants +1 Mobility.

@MrCloista
I'd made an assumption that I could add Travel Light as an option on a running campaign. Turns out that's not true. Running WSRAddItem TravelLight from the Weapon Skin Replacer mod has added it. Thanks to Rusty Dios over on the Discord.

@Dragon32 make sure you have the header set properly (the thing in [] at the top of the config file).

Thanks. Yeah it's the same. Same as Stukov's mod for Amalgamation. Same as your Proficiency Classes submod. Same syntax as I've been trying, beyond that's all lowercase (which I had originally).

idk, everyone's that's working looks exactly the same as what I've got. Yet mine's not working.

Check covert war class redux 2.0 for syntax as it's working in there

@Dragon32 it definitely works as I'm using it myself.

I'm not able to add TravelLight as an option for Dedicated Pistol Slot

for e.g.
+ADD_SLOT=(SOLDIER_CLASS="Reaper", WEAPON_CAT="TravelLight", ALLOW_EMPTY=true)
I've tried all lower case too. This matches X2Item_CovertWarClassRedux.uc

I can use Weapon_Cat for Claymores
+ADD_SLOT=(SOLDIER_CLASS="Reaper", WEAPON_CAT="claymore", ALLOW_EMPTY=true)

And I've used TEMPLATE_NAME successfully
+ADD_SLOT=(SOLDIER_CLASS="Reaper", TEMPLATE_NAME="SectoidFinger", ALLOW_EMPTY=true)

Rebuilt user configs too. Still no luck. Has anyone managed to?

Bladeblitz and Swordswing are not in configs as they are literally just versions of Bladestorm and SwordSlice that don't need a weapon slot assignment to actually work, nothing particularly interesting about them.

This mod is used as a 'base' requirement of other mods. Perks are collated here for use in other mods, without needing to use all the other mods classes/additions.

Only those 5 perks are added to the general AWC pool. Other perks not added there are used by specific class mods.

Hi! Thanks for your mods they are very interesting!

I took a quick look at the XcomClassdata.ini and only found these lines

;A configuration File
[XComGame.X2SoldierClassTemplateManager]
+ExtraCrossClassAbilities=(AbilityName="RustyCloistaShield")
+ExtraCrossClassAbilities=(AbilityName="MKPMrCloista")
+ExtraCrossClassAbilities=(AbilityName="Mrc_FreeBeacon")
+ExtraCrossClassAbilities=(AbilityName="SprayMrC")
+ExtraCrossClassAbilities=(AbilityName="SingleReloadMrC")
;ExtraCrossClassAbilities=(AbilityName="")

Does it mean only the above 5 perks are added to soldier's XCOM perk pool? How are the rest of perks in the description implemented into the game? They sound really interesting especially the Bladeblitz and Sword Swing but they are just not in the config files. Maybe they are not for configuration?

I'm running my very first LWOTC campaign and I'm learning some basic config editing. I hope this mod will work well.

The perks that have the same name are duplicates so they are available to non-proficiency setups.
