Hi I'm not an active bannerlord player or modder anymore - but unless TW makes changes this simple XML editing mod (no code) will work on all versions above 1.1.0 - has worked since february 2023


Expansion to my Elite Mercenaries MOD (Both standalone - do not combine)




⚔️ Compatible Version: From v1.1.x - ⚔️

Tier 5 & 6 Elite Mercenaries joins Calradia - introducing:


  • Aserai Kardake and Immortals
  • Battanian Higlanders and Mounted Highlanders
  • Imperial Centurions and Praetorians
  • Khuzait Steppe Kheshig and Warlords
  • Sturgian Norse Raiders and Berserkers, also Bow Maidens and Valkyrie
  • Vlandian Frankish Swordsman and Crusaders

These Mercs are based on culture, which means you have to recruit a Centurion in a Imperial Cultured Town, an Immortal in Aserai Cultured Town etc. (hired in Town Tavern just as vanilla Mercenaries).

The Vanilla Mercenaries are OUT of the game, leaving you only Caravan Guards besides Elites, so no more sword sisters etc., making it easier to recruit elites.

Armor editing (stats) has been done and unique crafted weapons ⚔️ added for some of these Mercs.

- Not Recommended if using RBM Mod


Bannerlord Mercenary Perks:


Charm Level 150 Slick Negotiator
-Hiring mercenaries is 20% cheaper.

Trade Level 150 Mercenary Connections
-Mercenary troops' wages are decreased by 25%.

Trade Level 225 Sword For Barter
-Hiring mercenaries is 20% cheaper.

Steward Level 200 Contractors
-Mercenary troops' wages and upgrade costs are decreased by 25%.


Important:


If you have a savegame using the older Elite Mercenaries Mod you can not update to this one because of changes and XML cleaning i had to do - annoying..... i know.…But give it a try in your next game.

Compatible Version: from v1.1.0 as it uses armor introduced in that version.

XML editing only - No Dependencies
(meaning low tech mod only used xml editing(no code) and it does not depend on other mods like Butterlib, Harmony etc in order to work).

Works for new game or Can be added to save game - but if you remove this mod again then Calradia will be populated with parties with units that does not exist anymore = crash, as units goes into gamecode.
- So adding to savegame make backup before so you safe can remove again.

Yes these are just as normal vanilla mercs - and yes NPS's pick them up.

This mod looks great. Do NPCs add these mercenaries to their parties as they do normally? If so, is there any priority given to picking these soldiers up due to their higher stats?

ThatFawker its the "Armor editing (stats) has been done and unique crafted weapons" that blows this, as its made for vanilla and simply too low for RBM, making some units worthless in RBM.
my thougt was that a lot of costum units were made for RBM - look at https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/791 "Requirements" and "Mods requiring RBM" and this mods would not be missed :o)

Hi Asriel108 Thx for reporting 👍 and plz don’t take this the wrong way but I really don’t think it’s this mod as no code is used and it only by xml editing swops out the vanilla mercs and has been used since 6 june 2022 without any crash ( other than removing the mod which will make campaign crash as units goes to gamecode). I hope you find the issue, best of luck to you 🍀

You could ask the Improved Garrison modder if non vanilla mercs or troops has impact on his mod… but I’ve used that for my self for over a year with non vanilla normal troops and mercs and also my little warband and have never had any problems.

I really liked this mod. The Mercs are gorgeous.
But it suddenly created an unfixable crash on my campaign, after around 3 years. It could be, that "Improved Garrisons" is also a part of the problem, but the main exception is thrown by this mod.
The crash happened on 12:00 midday, when the troop wages are collected. And it seems that the system had problems to do this for mercs in castles, where you spend them into the garrison, after conquering them. At first I was able to just load an older safe, conquer the castles again and just don't station mercs, but after some time, quite a lot of my lords had mercs and so they would station them into every castle they conquered.
This was on M&B v1.1.5, so not sure if this bug exists in v1.2 now, but I wanted to mention it :)
